  1. I think he could be good insurance up forward and down back. Not sure it would be a good look delisting Dawes but then picking up Everitt.
  2. We have done very well this trade period. I've read a few people post in forums and some journalists say our only downfall was that we will be drafting quite late in the draft, however that was our least priority moving forward. Our list is one of the brightest in the competition in terms of youth. We have that many quality young players and our midfield depth is unbelievably deep. You just have to look at the result of the Casey Scorpions and how we excelled into the grand final this year. Players who would have been walk-up starters a few years ago are playing in our VFL team. This is a very important sign for any successful club moving forward. The missing piece for our team were cool-calm experienced AFL players to help our young kids close out games. You always wonder how teams like Geelong, Hawthorn, Bulldogs etc close out games and always seem to try and find a way to either fight back or hold out leads. This comes down to their more senior and experienced players that we lacked. In order to make the finals next year and beyond we needed to fill that void. With the addition of Lewis & Hibberd, we have accelerated our push to finals drastically. And with the injection of Melksham into our team, this will only provide even more depth and experience to our young squad. Our goal next year is to make finals. After this trade period, I am more than confident we have made this objective more realistic.
  3. Thanks for pointing that out. It's all I can hear now.
  4. Lewis has about 3 years left in footy with him. I feel as though he has been a very durable player, just missed a chunk of games through suspension. Lewis will not only help us win close games, but it also has a domino effect on the rest of the playing group. Imagine Viney, Oliver, Petracca feeding and developing their craft further from Lewis. Imagine the other types of players we will be able to land in next year's trade period when a four time premiership player has requested a trade to us. Forget that Lewis is slow, he will be able to provide that cool experienced head they we desperately need. Vince and Jones need leadership support on and off the field. We need this deal to go through if we want to start seeing more wins next year and our younger to players go to the next level.
  5. If Hawthorn hit a roadblock with the O'meara trade, could the Lewis deal might still be in play?
  6. With Lewis reportedly off the radar, are our sights sets maybe looking at bringing in Rockliff? I understand he has that toxicity nature surrounding him, but at the end of the day the question should be asked. Does he improve our chances of making finals next year? For me it's a yes.
  7. Has one of the best handballs in the game already. This kid can find space and spot team mates in the back of his head like not many footballers can. These attributes are completely underrated. Will be our best player come 4-5 years. Watch this space.
  8. There aren't really many options out there right now, and for those that are available there are questions around either their work ethic or fitness to stay on the ground. If I had to choose someone, I'd go after Zac Clarke. Melbourne born and bred, put him back in his home state surrounded by family and friends and see if he can kick it into another gear.
  9. This signing also allows us to really plan and build the team around Hogan for the next 3 years. Another year in the dark about whether or not he was going to recommit could have potentially forced us this year to trade into the top 10 and draft another forward. Good stuff Dees!
  10. Hope he gets back to doing what he loves. I believe however, there is an significant underlining difference from people suffering from depression and people choosing an action which ultimately leads to a state of depression (which had a massive consequence of said action) There are many people out there (some I know) who suffer from depression for no real reason. They have a great job, great family but they haven't done anything which ultimately lead to depression. They just mentally suffer from it and no matter how their life pans out (good or bad) they will always suffer from it. These people can win the lottery and be living on the Bahamas with a gorgeous model by their side and still be suffering from depression (mental illness). Then, there are those who choose to act in a way they know will look bad if it gets out, they know the consequence of this action will cause an overwhelming stir, they know they will be in the spotlight if they get caught. I'm not saying these type of people don't deserve to be recognised as being sufferers from depression. In fact, I think it's harder for them as they have to deal with the spotlight, fall out of friends, families and a reputation being turmoiled right in front of their eyes. In summary though, there is a big difference in those to choose to act in a manner, and those that simply suffer from it regardless of the action. All the best Gary.
  11. Gee, Boyd offers absolutely nothing. When Roughead went out of the game I thought for sure GWS would capitalize with big Mummy in the ruck. Whenever Boyd gets the ball he would just hospital hand pass in the air without even thinking. Over 1 million dollars a season for a plodder. Imagine what that team could do with that salary cap space if they hadn't spent that much on such a nothing player,
  12. My ideal trade scenario: OUT: Hogan IN: Gaff/Shuey + Darling Is this unrealistic?
  13. Gee, hasn't Miles dropped off the face of the earth.
  14. Richmond would be offering big bucks compared to other clubs. If it was me, and I was an AFL player, and I knew I had dodgy knees, I would be accepting the most lucrative longest-term contract I could. Job security and setting yourself up post-career is becoming far more important for the modern day player, than going to a club for a chance of success.
  15. Have you seen this guy kick a ball? It looks like someone who has never picked up an AFL football before and attempt to kick it on their opposite foot.
  16. Well, for starters you 'vomit from your mouth'. Vomiting in your mouth is different to Vomiting. No?
  17. Sorry mate, but I vomit in my mouth whenever I see trade suggestions as biased and one sided as this...from any supporter.
  18. He will get a massive pre-season under his belt and develop a huge tank. Salem is a classy player we need to run out games and deliver for us in the 4th quarter when the game is on the line. Similar to Jack Watts, he will help win the games that are on the line.
  19. My money is that he has his mind set on Hawthorn and Gold Coast knows this. Unfortunately this sticky situation will deem it very difficult for Gold Coast to secure the best deal for their club, which is why they have come out and said Jaegar has no right to choose what club he is heading to. Hopefully the club can secure the best deal they can, and he doesn't hold the club ransom and strong arms Gold Coast to get to Hawthorn and them only having to give up two first rounds which doesn't really equate to much when they finish high on the ladder.
  20. Tigers must be licking their lips this upcoming trade period. The amount of recycled players they can choose from is endless. It's like a kid walking into an ice-cream store. "Hmm.. what flavour do I feel like today?!"
  21. It's the curse of the contract signature. Vandenberg, Gartlett, Vince.
