PREGAME: Rd 24 vs Sydney
I would leave Tommo back, helping Lever and May to play their intercept roles. And either TMcD or Smith as starting forwards, the other as sub - with the knowledge that one of them (or possibly JVR) will be subbed out for the other in the second half for player management reasons not necessarily performance.

Welcome to Demonland: Trent Rivers
JT has been one of our finest assets. Picks them from nowhere. Howes or Bowey?

Most would. Sydney ??? No Incompetency, or …. ? And guess what? Carlton and Sydney stay in the finals race. Is that a good outcome for AFL HQ? Just asking.

Nokia 3310? No. Surely Kodak Box Brownie. ..... alternatively, he plays and twangs it at the first contest.

Trade Rumours 2023
Maybe grandson, or more likely great grandson. Reputedly Christmas Eve 1997. Never since. From what I hear and read, Verrall is coming along really nicely but even Max tool maybe 3 years to establish himself. 2024 is very optimistic but as I have said before, better an optimist who is sometimes wrong than a pessimist who is always right. Brundy may get a look at Sydney next weekend, especially if we win tomorrow and manage / rest Max next week.

Way above the padding. Won't waste my time looking for the AFL response, which will be "nothing to see". And the AFL have Sydney into finals, as they would like. Still, hopefully SYD will be buggered next weekend - tough wet game, flight home etc/. Papley probably injured and McCartin maybe (though probably not given the stakes for AFL Sydney) suspended for his high hit in Q4. It is well past time to change the rule so that wherever the ball ends up, that is the score. Through the goals, goal. Through the behind space, behind. OOB, OOB. If it bounces back into play, maybe play on?

It is very important for the AFL to have Sydney in the finals.

Kicking like a Melbourne team. Now it is the close one.

Just switched to Adelaide v South Melbourne. Commentary far worse than the Cat v Saints. Just awful. Derwaynnne cannot stop stating the bleeding obvious.

Surf, farm, apply for government grants?

They looked really slow especially against Saints who move the ball quickly.

Even better is watching Hawkins mouthing off at his teammates when it is not delivered straight to him.

Saints missed two chances to ice the game in the last minute of Q3. Two set shots from within range - behinds.

#30 Geelong should go for weeks - reckless kick in danger. Rather like King v White though missed the face. This sort of [censored] needs to be stamped out even more than "dangerous tackles".

TICKETING: Round 24 2023
Do we know when it is on yet?

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Mess with form at your peril - one could only even contemplate resting Max v Swans if we get Hawks tomorrow.

Exactly - just bloody well win. It is entirely in our own hands. But if we can't get second (highly unlikely) then from a purely selfish point of view, Collingwood 1st and us 4th would mean that us Victorians have the opportunity to see it all live at the Melbourne CG.

So how much better would their losing be? Risking injury by not playing is IMO fraught with danger - flirting with form: however not playing players carrying injury, which may be aggravated, is an entirely different matter. We can only beat those who turn up to play against us. But WWWWW is all that concerns me. They can lose the next one, as long as they win the next 5.

Collingwood really looking shaky especially in defence. Are they that bad, or are Brisbane that good? Actually neither defence looks particularly solid.

Has Maynard been appointed as a playing umpire? Mouthing off to the one in yellow, with impunity. And seriously these "insufficient intent" are just so annoying. One was a side of the boot kick off the ground and another player tackled running head on the boundary. Hate to say it, but Cox has been pretty influential at centre bounces in particular. Very annoying. And I wonder what Michael Christian will say about the dump tackle by McCreery? Remind me who did Christian play for?? PS: was anything said about the one on Rivers late last week? Or was the Carlton exemption card played?

Underwood's voice, regardless of chromosomal makeup, is like fingernails on a blackboard and I for one just cannot listen. Also her obviously pre rehearsed attempts at humour are very "dad like".

Commentary talking about great defences - that must be why there have been 13 14 goals kicked by now. 🤫

Pity they don't have to play at Cat Park, ever +1 Just enforce the 50 meter when opponents hold on to or scrag the man with the free / mark. IF they insist on retaining it then they need to make the kicker line up over the mark, yes even when deep in defence: otherwise it is a complete farce. And the insufficient attempt requires an already confused umpire (far too many 'interpretative' rules) to read the kicker's mind. Just keep "deliberate"
