N. Jones Watts Trengrove Dunne My humble view on these: Grimes - physical vs mental? Garland - seems ok Gawn - too raw to have been scarred Howe - maybe Jetta - clearly has got over it and moved on Jarmar - now just running out of steam after a reasonable career Spencer - not tainted, just slowly developing Bail - tainted, on just NQR? Fitzpatrick - see Spencer T. McDonald - clearly either over it or not tainted

I guess it does show that we have made some real progress .Need to build on it and follow through Go Dees PS D3 - did you manage to get any stats from other teams for comparison? It would be fascinating to see just how well time in front ranking compare with ladder positions

I am absolutely certain that they will (a) not come under scrutiny for "their rebuild method", referred to in the case of another club as tanking, (b) will get "more generous consideration" in any PP discussion and © get a favorable draw in particular as far as times and venues, all under Fitzpatrick's supervision. As the poster above mentioned, think FIFA and Blatter and Visy paper bags, and special deals on outside payments for special players, and of course the old AFL catch cry, "the integrity of the game"!

OMG - please tell me what does Dawes bring to the table??????? What positives has he brought in 2015?? Can't mark. Can't kick. Can't / won't play ruck. Can't play back to mid. One trick pony, whose truth has been worked out. Season 2015 Totals/Averages GM K HB D M G B T HO FF FA AF * SC * Average 5 5.4 4.4 9.8 3.2 0.6 0.4 2.2 2.0 1.8 1.2 47.6 48.8 IF he waltzes back in without having been made to show anything at Casey (I know the bloody bye isn't his fault - clearly entirely Jack Watts' doing) then I am seriously done for 2015, and probably 2016. Sailing, and a bit of golf are far more appealing. I am getting sick of Roos' excuses Make to buggers work, and earn their positions. Can't ask much more than that given our lack of depth.

With due respect we have been rebuilding for nearly a bloody decade. We have been promised lights at the end of tunnels. We have been let down again and at. It is (almost) more frustrating for members and fans being teased by these "great starts" then being run over than being run over from the first bounce, as we have been used to. Just give us some consistency, please, and some hope. I have supported this club for 62 years.......other than the first decade I have been teased all too often. Bring it on Paul, Peter.

And up 12 v Hawks But down 7 v Tigers and 9 v Dogs So doesn't really predict much really. Maybe just teasers.

Please explain? As I recall we played Sydney and Hawthorn at the G

They did turn a corner.....and scampered down the lane when the pressure was applied. :-(((

Roos' big challenge to get some confidence and flare into a now dispirited group I live in hope. -

Whilst a scum of bombers is ok and has long been so, surely a syringe of bombers is more topical.

was it just a few, or a whole statutory of them? And, whilst on collective nouns, here are a few for our dear Queen's Birthday opponents Magpies, a charm of Magpies, a congregation of Magpies, a flock of Magpies, a gulp of Magpies, a mischief of Magpies, a murder of Magpies, a tiding of Magpies, a tidings of Magpies, a tittering of Magpies, a tribe of The first is clearly very inappropriate!

And Liam was indeed a very exciting player who drew crowds just to see him play Had he not had his "issues", sadly starting when he had an injury that interrupted his normal routine at the club, then I suspect he would still be drawing crowds, and in tandem with Jessie would present an enormously exciting sight.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
monoccular replied to Northern Summer's topic in Melbourne Demons
The English language can have some amazing nuances when used creatively. Beautiful turn of phrase. And, back to topic. What is Dawes' contract status? -
So, he jumped in the air, hit his head and puts him out for at least next week. One week suspension is a farce. Justice in a way that he broke an arm. . Rough justice but justice regardless
-
Maybe But we shouldn't just play him because we pay him.
-
Oh, you cynic. Of course we will. As always. Gil and Fitzpatrick (not our Jack but the ex Carlton player and integrity commissioner) will conduct an impartial and thorough investigation and let the public know all. As always. The integrity of the game is paramount. As always :-)))). As always

OMG I love that video The much maligned Jordie gave out three critical handballs in that final quarter. :-)) (Pity that idiot Derwayne commentated that final passage though. The only negative there )

Come on guys Share some all too brief and rare moments of joy I don't think anyone believes he is the messiah (or even a very naughty boy) but enjoy the moment and be glad for him.

Hellfish: I would certainly put McDonald, Dunn and now Fitzdemon and even Garland ahead of Dawes as a big defender. I must say given the good recent form and competitiveness of Pedersen I can't really see where Dawes will fit back in. He was sorely down on form prior to his sore calf, and IMVHO must find form at Casey before playing AFL again (regardless of his salary)! If he wants to learn new tricks he should learn them at Casey, as has Fitzy.

......and good disposal. All the other requirements you mentioned come to absolutely nil if the disposal is crap. It was (generally) overall a lot better Sunday. I have been critical about lack of gut running and those without the ball offering options for years: knowing that a lead will be honored and that there is a good chance that the ball will actually reach you ( or the teammate for whom you have made the space / drawn the opponent) must make a load of difference to both the guy with the ball and the guy making the lead and / or space.

He reminds me of some guy who played in an obscure ACT competition last year. He is not there anymore. I wonder what happened to him? Good points about the "limited preseason excuse". And it will be interesting how he goes later in this his first season. Drive and determination play a big rôle.

^^. Gonzo. I said elsewhere that this was a fantastic TEAM effort. And the guys "on notice" fitted into that team structure very well And rjay - given the thread title, what an ugly duckling Westhoff looked for quite a few years as a youngster. Big men take time but some are worth preserving with. Hopefully Fitzdemon will be one of them.
