  1. ^^. Bah, Barra. You sound like too much of a realist. Enjoy the win! They have been rare enough.
  2. He has surprising pace and agility for such a big man. He also does provide some versatility in that he can if needed go forward as a mismatch, or do some ruck work, yet can run as a defender. It will be interesting to see him against a slightly smaller agile forward. Does anyone know about his endurance? He is diabetic as I recall, but that seems to we well controlled. As one of the previous posters pointed out, our "best 22" now is far more of a contest than it was a few weeks back. Having Howe and Pedersen who can fill a rôle at either end gives great flexibility when circumstances such as injury or a dominating opposition player forces a change. Fitz can be added to that group.
  3. I was a,ways under the impression, perhaps erroneously, that intention to use illegal drugs was deemed as bad as actually using them. In this case the intent was there and is pretty much undisputed: at very least therefore surely those who planned this should be severely punished ie life bans.
  4. It is an afternoon game, not a night one. And other than the very rare occasion it rains, it will not be slippery by day, any time of year at Alice As said earlier, there is no bloody VFL game this week for Casey - another bye, so Viney will wither come straight in or wait another week. Grrrrrrrr!!!!!!!
  5. Probably more a matter of Judd being the media's darling.
  6. Sometimes in organizations one finds that someone coming on board with superlative recommendations turns out to be quite the opposite. It is as if the first organization just can't wait to offload them, hence the glowing references. Have seen it a few times.
  7. I have always felt that many of their supporters are real prats too. prat n 1. an incompetent or ineffectual person: often used as a term of abuse It is a bit surprising that he didn't do a better job of list analysis. Always thought that he was smarter than that.
  8. He (and Ted Whitten) would play maybe one or two games a year these days with MRP (yes, even with their inconsistencies) and the importance placed on protection of the head. . An absolute thug.
  9. Good old Titus Here is another absolute gem http://titusoreily.com/stephen-silvagni-presents-his-carlton-audit/
  10. Is that Fitzpatrick, the integrity commissioner appointed by Vlad? LOL.
  11. Great summation of what went right in Sunday. It all fitted in....reminded me of round 1. A TEAM effort. Inside 50s. M 53. WB 51 Inside 50 efficiency. M 53%. WB 37% Mark's inside 50. M 17. WB 9 Shooting accuracy. M 54%. WB 47% Overall disposal efficiency. M 73%. WB 68% Clangers. M 41. WB 51 And yes, that handball showed amazing vision and skill: glad that [Pedersen] finished it off so well.
  12. NO they can't have Garlett back. OMG how good was his coming to us. Have they named a replacement or interim? And they get rewarded with yet another Friday night match this time at the SCG. Good luck, blues. Not.
  13. Would either be so stupid? Seriously, CFC will have serious problems getting anyone to take on the job.And as an aside, will Daisy hang around without his mentor?
  14. Thanks And that has him out for the season?? I guess every injury is different, and particularly times and management change dramatically, but some come back in weeks: as I understand this injury ended Coleman's career.
  15. LOL. People nearby thought I was mad. Maybe they are right. I guess one can only be a successful sub for a limited time before one needs a full game, somewhere
  16. What is the Prestia injury. Can't find it on any list.
  17. Have you forgotten our huge hearted skipper? And, when fit, is Dom is good. And maybe Salem through the middle. And if it was Trengove's foot that stifled him the past few years, and the surgery is successful, he could be handy in the midfield too. And Bernie. And AN-B could surprise. So that could be another five, maybe six. Now IF all came good together (I know, a big IF) then we would have the quality mid numbers required to become a serious contender.
  18. I didn't see that coming - did anyone else? Would have expected Tom to take the million dollar man but full credit to Fitz, and to Roos et al for giving him the responsibility and putting their faith in him.
  19. I have said I will admit to mea culpa - Jones did a great job on one of their playmakers and unless concussed, and if a suitable matchup is there should be rewarded. Bloody VFL and their byes really make life difficult for AFL teams. Time to drop / amalgamate / introduce new team. Dawes must have been on the verge of being dropped prior to his sore calf - Pedersen comprehensively took over his spot yesterday. A very long treck back for Chris, as he lacks the versatility of Pedersen, amongst other attributes. Viney needs a run somewhere but it won't be at Casey this week. Sub?? Jetta if fully recovered should walk straight back in - ?Bail? Tyson needs more than one week to recover from his knee injury. Bring him back for Pies, or after the bye.
  20. I guess because it was so unusual it was commented upon. As you say, he is human after all. I think that many (myself included) have not given him credit for that. Good post. Nevertheless I would expect that he and Bail will make way for the likes of Viney, Tyson, Salem, Frost when they recover.
  21. Will the surname save him? Has done for his bro in the past.
  22. After today, albeit vs no star ruck, you would still axe Spencer!?? He was a brute and I just loved his follow up efforts after centre clearances. Even made somed good choices and execution with the ball in hand. Who would you have as ruckman? I see you list vandenBerg !?
  23. After recent weeks, certainly yesterday, Pedersen has zoomed past Dawes as the second tall forward. Makes contests, takes marks, kicks goals, keeps out of Hogan's way (and vice versa), can ruck and can play back if needed. Winner on all counts.
  24. Incidental. Focussed on the ball. The "victim" put himself in the way l But knowing the MRP and their lack of consistency who knows
