1964 Melbourne Premiership player, Don Williams? I guess, she either is, or is not. -

If we miss the final 8 next year then....... the pessimists will feel vindicated I, however, will choose to remain optimistic. -

But BT would really miss his “wow, Richo, another Hunter special, underground handpass, JB”. PS : BT, all of Hunter’s low handpasses remain above the ground. -
Welcome to Demonland Andrew McQualter

So did Hames’ most memorable ever kick, across the corridor I guess, breach team rules? 🤗 -
Q3 seems easily answered. Do they really want or need good umpires or do they only want compliant ones? 🙄

Change coming to the Academy System
monoccular replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
So we lose access to Mac Andrew (if we really ranked him) as a knee jerk reaction to JUH, and now there is a partial reversal by the world experts at making big decisions on the run, aka AFL. Sounds about the way they run things. -

I have very little knowledge of Martin Hore, so have absolutely nothing against him, but can some in the know please enlighten me as to just what he offers, what gap he fills, on our current list? Thanks. -
Langdon surely was a “dream wingman” 2021 though he hasn’t repeated that form. Blake Howes has been highly praised but has not had a chance yet through injury.
-
Chandler seemed to just run out of puff after a great start to season 2023 - hopefully another preseason will see him last a good deal longer in 2024.

1/ How much input does Goody have in the drafting process? Obviously some, but does JT have the "final say"? 2/ where do Bailie Laurie and Blake Howes stand now given the two picks this year, Viking and Windsor?
-
He [Sestan] came from nowhere, has had one preseason at AFL level. Really looking forward to seeing him develop after a year on our list and two preseasons.
-
Great questions George, particularly the third one re do shrewd recruiters learn anything new at draft camp. And also ask re AMV and Howes.
-
JT has a great record and here’s hoping that these two are more of his gems. BBB, our Premiership FF says hi.
-
He (CM) certainly didn't work out as planned - one wonders how he may have performed in a better structured club environment with time to develop in the 2s, without thrusting them in as Messiahs.. (Add JW, Maric, Strauss, Valenti etc into that category)
-
Has any AFL / VFL team had a Koltyn? Depth I would think. Like Dunstan. 🤔 Hopefully Langdon will be flyover the rib injury - can take a long time - and return with full confidence. I was thinking of Sestan when looking at the Viking's highlights.

The AFL, like God, moves in mysterious ways.
-
Does anyone know the origin of the family name? Norwegian? Hope he isn’t pining for the fjords😮
-
Or Jock?
-
greenwaves and DD - whilst not expecting to see much if any of Jefferson in 2024, I wonder why you seem so totally unequivocal that he won’t be seen at all?
-
Hopefully spending 5 days in Adelaide might convince Harry to stay with us.
-
We had a teacher at school (in the MFC heydays of the 1950s) whose used to say (pardon my Latin if not strictly parsed) "res non verba" which he said meant "deeds not words". Maybe MFC needs such a motto.
-
“….AFL is run by amateurs propped up by their own ilk...the media….” Not quite. Amateurs aren’t paid millions plus bonuses.
-
MFCSS actually They could screw is more by deeming our gather round v Adelaide to be our home game 🙄😮

There was a list on some thread earlier in the year and we were clearly the team to travel there most, by a fair margin. I think it was Collingwood and maybe Carlton / Richmond who went only once in 20+ years. I am sure some tech guru can find it somewhere.
