Hare-Clark system seems better described as Hare Brained. Guaranteed to result in a divided compromised government. Probably appropriate for Tasmania though.
  2. We already have four umpires who seem blind and or oblivious to the vast majority of these off ball elbows, belly jabs and bumps. Surely they can see these, and if not maybe OPSM could replace SpecSavers as their sponsor. A few more off ball free kicks and or 50 meter penalties, with reports and suspensions for striking, and elbowing, would stop this immediately. Repeated belly jabs / elbows are not trivial. Maybe the boundary umpires could also call the most blatant of these. PS the regular repeated unpunished deliberate elbows to Max’s head (and knees to his back) just exposes the utter hypocrisy of the AFL and their insincere “protect the head” stance. If anyone hoped that a change at the top would ease the hypocrisy got it wrong. Gentle kicking is ok and bumps involving the head only apply to certain teams. The only thing that they care about is $$$$$ - so until the class action bankrupts them, including their payouts, nothing will happen.
  3. Yes if stable and not part of the spinal cord surrounds. And add in the reckless assault on Max after he marked - not even a bloody 50 meter which it should have been every time No two injuries are the same. Remember Lockdown Dan was in a brace for months. Other can fracture transverse processes and hardly notice it. Agree re caution but target May at your own peril.
  4. Thanks as always kev Particularly interested in Melk and Turner being in the main group already. How well did they move? And were they involved at all in competitive work?

The Gus “debacle” was a well planned faux prosecution designed to keep the assailant playing finals.
  6. Langdon took a season and a half to recover fully.

    Of course not.
  8. It was AI generated - the intelligence, such as it is, is artificial. Agree. I suspect that it was planned to take Petty off maybe mid Q3 - well planned, or very lucky, to have Petty on the ground when the two KPP defenders went down and Hore as the sub. I was amazed to hear the TMc had 100% and BBB 95% TOG. The versatility of our selected team certainly paid dividends today. FFS Petty hardly had a preseason and as above he probably wasn’t excpected to play a full game. Not sure what was his TOG %? as was Stan Alves as I recall 5 goals with a makeshift defence. A great feat. Kudos to all concerned.
  9. Difficult to choose today as it was a very even TEAM effort. 6 Petracca - powerful, positive delivery forward, handy goal 5 Oliver - broke a very heavy tag and his disposal and option taking greatly improved 4 Max - leadership and persistence. 3 Viney - always there when the chips are down 2 Kozzie - actually held his marks and great options 1 Salem - rekaibke and hard to beat Apologies multiple including (though not exhaustive) Tom McD, Frittata, ANB, Sparrow, McVee, Billings et al
  10. Certainly the opportunity to make or break him. Which will it be? Over to you Tommo. IF he takes on all three and wins, then it would be one hell of an achievement Tomlinson was after all the preferred third tall defender early 2021 until he did his ACL.
  11. Bayley Fritsch,Kade Chandler, and Traccas they snapped. OMG - MFCSS kicked straight in. All three actually snapped đŸ˜±đŸ˜± Wasn’t in the injury report.

Maybe, but seriously if one was after a decent fit-for-purpose camera system crypto would not be my first choice. So maybe counterintuitive . Maybe though some would find their moment of fame worthwhile. The only way jail time could actually prevent it would be preemptive jail as in Minority Report. Or, just jail all bogans?

Crows’ defence looking very slow and disorganized.

They just need to hope for another “prosecutor” who has zero interest in a succesful prosecution. The review system needs a complete review.
  15. Best news from those reports thanks WCW and Demonland was that Petty appeared to have moved, run and kicked without problems. As has been suggested maybe he will be the sub and if not needed earlier replaces BBB in Q3
  16. No. No. Not so. However most agreed that Spargo wasn’t ready. Many feel the same re Petty.

One needs to have culture to have a culture problem. As long as that little stager has a bad day Saturday. 3066

0-3 How sweet it is. Now the question is are the Saints good or the Pies really that bad?
  19. monoccular replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Why to Collingwood get an away game at their 'home' ground when Saints' home is Docklands??
  20. monoccular replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Not so sure - the Saints could well cough it up Looks highly possible And I thought Ross Lyon was the master of locking games down
  21. I just hope that this sent a repeat of the Spargo fiasco - hopefully the FD will have had "learnings" from that. Maybe Sicily will give it just a gentle kick - that is OK now it seems.
  22. Question is, given that debuting as a sub isn’t kosher, whom will he replace? Emergency would offer him recognition, though I can’t see him playing.
  23. Agree 100% - Alice is a great climate for winter footy - yes, last year we endured the wettest coldest week on record for our game - usually warm, dry, and sunny. But Darwin, where no doubt the majority of games would have to be played is frankly a friggin nightmare - hot, humid, wet. I understand (but am happy to be corrected) isn't their major competition season the summer? Of course these concessions, and the further worsening of the disgraceful schedule iniquity (quaintly refereed to by some as the draw) would be mitigated by transferring a Victorian based team in toto to Hobart, like South Melbourne - Sydney and Fitzroy Brisbane, leaving 18 teams (which for those mathematically inclined is an even number meaning no regular byes as we endure in the VFL) That would have to be IMO one of North, StKilda or Hawthorn, all of which have already dabbled into the Apple Isle. In fact amalgamating the three aforementioned into Tassie Devils would get us back to a far more manageable and equitable 16 team competition - pipe dream only I know.

OMG - but do they actually have to fly interstate this year?? They would feel right at home - will their president be on the plane too?
  25. Totally agree .... but then someone selected Spargo in round 0 despite not having had a match sim, so who knows what the selectors will do.
