  1. Really looking forward to some facts re Jack's progress. There has been / is a lot of speculation.
  2. Admitting to being humble could lay you open to suspension on this forum, for not complying with majority behavior. :-)
  3. Or the Cockatoo-Collins at #30 and #31 - not that we had a chance to get confused as they play, what, ?6 games between them. EDIT: apologies Barrie - I jumped ahead before I saw you comments on the C-C twins, who were not it turns out to be great choices to say the least. Who was the recruiting manager then?
  4. Look forward and enjoy - we are essentially a new club now. And who knows how Matty Bate would have gone with decent coaching and development. (Nobody will ever know of course.)
  5. Fabulous read. Finally, after so many false dawns, could a Weideman in an unbelievable piece of irony help bring an end to the curse of Norm Smith.
  6. He should and will play when he is ready. It is strange to say he shouldn't play next season - he could be burning it up at Casey, and looks to be a decent build already. I trust our management, now.
  7. Thanks for putting the time differences into perspective. As you say some like to get excited / depressed by stats.....the one that really matters is the scoreboard at the end of the GF!!!!!
  8. Trengove playing good AFL footy would be a huge surprise, and a very pleasant one.
  9. Of course he will have to adapt to the vastly increased pressure at AFL or even VFL level. Good players do. vandenBerg did pretty quickly. No doubt he will, like most newbies, have to refine quite a few things, but he looks to be coming off a pretty good base given his background.
  10. Angus says hi!Some are ready, some appear to be but aren't, and others aren't. I am certain that all our new talent will play as soon as they are ready, and not before. PS Isuspect that the Weed will play some games in 2016, and that Huelett probably won't.
  11. I agree, but there are some people who just can't resist wallowing in the past. The past has passed; the future is ahead. Go Demons
  12. Either, or both? Great report Tas. Keep it up. Much appreciated.
  13. Given the reservations of any highlights package, i.e. they show off the good and none of the bad, he looks a good pickup. If he is as good as the last guy rookies from there we should all be ecstatic. Good size, reads the play, evades, kicks straight, tackles, brings others into the game upfield.
  14. Speed isn't all in the legs Speed of ball movement comes with skill and awareness and with having players working hard (not necessarily fast) off the ball to create options. If you KNOW there is always a target who has made themselves ready to receive the whole perception of speed is there. On the other hand the fastest player who has nobody prepared to receive will always look slow. Would you rather Sam Blease or Diesel Williams: leg speed or quick precise thinking?
  15. Col will be right up there, when he gets an injury-free preseason.
  16. Couldn't agree more but I am sure, depending on how things pan out, there will be quite a few here just waiting for an opportunity to say "told you so".
  17. Highlight packages generally promote the attacking attributes.
  18. Wing. HFF. If he earns the spot.
  19. Humblest apologies Barrie. I was typing phonetically:-). And, it is a long time between drinks! None of us are getting younger. The point that I was trying to make, for the youngsters here, though is that the last #32 to win a flag at MFC was......
  20. Barry Vagg !!
  21. According to my distant recollection of the ancient tale, a saviour of some fame had three Kings come to adore him. Jesse now has two: do we need to draft a third?
  22. I think you are right. Dawes remains a one trick pony, and that trick doesn't come off too often. Pedersen is more versatile and IMVHO has more currency of the two.
  23. Best available. Does vanders have a twin hiding in NEAFL somewhere?
  24. But would not have got the Weed Attributes not typical of Demon players over the past decade, 2015 excepted. A big sign of progress.
