Given the reservations of any highlights package, i.e. they show off the good and none of the bad, he looks a good pickup. If he is as good as the last guy rookies from there we should all be ecstatic. Good size, reads the play, evades, kicks straight, tackles, brings others into the game upfield.

Speed isn't all in the legs Speed of ball movement comes with skill and awareness and with having players working hard (not necessarily fast) off the ball to create options. If you KNOW there is always a target who has made themselves ready to receive the whole perception of speed is there. On the other hand the fastest player who has nobody prepared to receive will always look slow. Would you rather Sam Blease or Diesel Williams: leg speed or quick precise thinking?

Col will be right up there, when he gets an injury-free preseason.

I think you are right. Dawes remains a one trick pony, and that trick doesn't come off too often. Pedersen is more versatile and IMVHO has more currency of the two.
