  1. Maybe the premise was that having him on our list would mean that he cannot play against us would in turn mean that we may eventually beat Norf. He seems to turn it on every time we play them.
  2. I would see him as an 7.5/10 player. A good foot soldier but not a star. IF the price is right, yes. But not a must.
  3. Don't forget too that his Brownlow eligibility has been protected. Maybe Gil knows that he is in the lead at this stage.
  4. Even made GAJ pull a sickie rather than face JV.
  5. Another one bites the dust ?
  6. So good to get a goody (in fact more than one) from the Druggers, after Moorcroft, Heffernen etc
  7. steve - did you enjoy the moment and enjoy the win, or are you more concerned that it, in your view, happened by accident? Enjoy the win. Neeld said we would be the hardest team to play against, though I think he meant under his reign, not half a decade later.
  8. I agree fully, best game I have seen him play, yet ironically he could well be "managed" this week due to team balance and the need and (eventually) availability of a real ruckman. Also, there was talk at some stage of an injury. Any follow up on this?
  9. I am not a lawyer, but understand that the requirement in a civil case is balance of probabilities. Still, does he know with what he was injected? Can Dank be subpoenaed? And what if Dank is and says he has no records? All very difficult.
  10. Great work, Ash Wow....I always remember Jako and Jurrah as wasted (or unfulfilled) talent but I had forgotten just how good Sean Charles could have been had he stayed on track. Co-incidentally wasn't it dome form of wrist fracture that contributed to the demise of both Jurrah and Charles, taking them away from the stability of the club onto errant ways.
  11. I don't think he is worth anything near first round pick......but as with most players, if the price is right and he fits our needs then certainly worthy of a sniff. Would be negligent not to asses fully.
  12. I note that this is a Petracca / McCartin thread but I will respond anyway, Mr Tunnelball. Weideman has already shown far more in just over 1 season on the list than Lucas Cook, who I think we all now agree turned out to be a wasted pick, did in his whole time at Melbourne so the comparison is, IMO, just not there. Weideman was the best available at that pick, and I for one am pretty happy with his progress to date. Nobody in their right mind would expect him to be the key forward at this stage of his career, but that is where he found himself when Jesse was suspended. His last game he payed injured from early in the game. I don't think we will see his consistent best for 18 months or so - I am happy he has had some AFL exposure and will watch with positive interest in his progress over the remainder of 2017. I suspect, on the other hand, you will look for every negative and report them with glee.
  13. Whilst this is a Petracca thread, I must agree with you on Weid - comparing him with Cook is ludicrous. The 19yo played a good debut, and agreed hasn't had a real impact since, but give a year or so with the occasional senior game I strongly think we will see a very good player, though maybe not a superstar. His last game was played with a significant leg injury almost from the start, so judging him on that performance is harsh.
  14. As always a matter of cost v benefit.
  15. This thread is about Jason Taylor, not about SOS. I will try not to vilify or belittle SOS too much until we can actually beat his team!! Hopefully I can resume Sunday night.
  16. Hird contrite??!!?? He has never shown even a scintilla of contrition. contrite |kənˈtrʌɪt, ˈkɒntrʌɪt| adjective. feeling or expressing remorse at the recognition that one has done wrong: a contrite tone.
  17. The Donald is (slightly) classier than Newman. And certainly, like it or not, more influential.
  18. Not sure that the AFL see it that way - far more important (to them, and to Gil in particular) seems to be an ex assistant coach having a joke about a final score.
  19. I wonder if AHPRA will finally "have a look at" Reid? Maybe Mick told them to lay off too?
  20. ..........or do have but will not produce them because they are incriminating.
  21. And Gil and his corrupt cronies still "award" this prestigious fixture to the cheating bastards.
  22. I liked the part - Carey sold his intellectual property for $2 -- overpriced I reckon.
  23. They just won't accept the fact of their guilt. The legal profession must be laughing all the way to the bank. Essendon saga: Supreme Court writ lodged against Gillon McLachlan and Mike Fitzpatrick Still someone else's fault.
