I seem to recall one club, maybe even MFC, who in a full preseason session were instructed NOT to use their preferred foot. Certainly regularly practicing with the non preferred foot (and hand) fairly quickly improves the skills.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
What forward in their right mind would want to play under Lyon? Sure, a negating defender maybe, but a forward?

Farewell Jesse Hogan
So, we are doomed because a retired sneaky little staging sniper says so. Woe is me ???

Who do we realistically target for a trade?
"in the short term is there a suitable big man out there who could reasonably hold down a fwd position so we could at least offer game time." And leave out Hogan, or McDonald??? Or are we again going to go with too many talls with a third (Weideman, Bull, Pedo?)

But of course (other than intraclub practice games) he wouldn’t have to contend with Gus ever again ? Frankly no disgrace to lower ones colours to Gus in his current form.

Well, certainly a far better story than anything about Ross's Freo on field 'achievements' since their GF flop only a few years back!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
Yeah, but that was offered by Vlad and an artificial club in their set up period.

Delisting, Trade and FA discussion 2018
Question for Casey watchers How far off is Dion J as an AFL level small defender?

Darwin game dumped
Actually after yesterday maybe we should move more games to venues where I will not be tempted to waste my time and emotional energy by trying to attend. :-((((

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARRISON PETTY
Exactly, Dom. You beat me to the punch. Still, there are those who just love to see the negatives and just make their judgements on a single poor team performance. It is not as if the mids applied a lot of pressure to those delivering into their forward line.

Yes, the poor guy had a shocker by all accounts - I saw only brief glimpses of the farce But at this time he needs support and encouragement from us all (though not more senior game time in the immediate future). Relentless bagging could shatter him for a long time. Positive feedback is always more constructive than total negativity.

Seriously why would anyone want to join a club that crumbles whenever pressure is applied?

Soidee - seriously what do you really believe we could get for them?

Darwin game dumped
I beg to differ - jokes are (supposed to be) funny. Agree. Too many here seem to equate Darwin to Alice but they are poles apart They have given Geelong a massive boost, but of course that is a very marginal area electorally I believe.

Hopefully they will all be gelling so well together that there will be a massive selection dilemma. Would be a great problem to have.

As long as we don't expect him to be the great saviour I look forward to having him in the team Al the best Harry

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
Would that MFC see saw always end up with the kid at the bottom looking up and hoping, only to be let down again? ?

New CEO - Gary Pert
Surely this is a statement of the bleeding obvious!
-
Darwin game dumped
That certainly is a weird one: Port claiming China as their turf but the games are not home games. ALF logic? And yes, totally unfair, on both participating teams, not to have it before the bye

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
Sounds a great idea, but if i remember correctly isn't this quite a sloping site? So one would need to either dig at the northern end or build up at the southern end or both. I just can't envisage the loonie left Greens allowing it though.

No Mr Neeld, we didn't. Do you mean like Malthouse at Carlton? :-( Interesting the wide diversity of opinions here, from disgust to ecstasy. Don't know really what to think, though presumably Peter Jackson has endorsed the appointment, which would give me some confidence.
