Gawn walking laps in tracksuit, HS telling us not to panic...
OMG - a player walking. Slash wrists, climb tall building, seek hemlock .... Am I missing something - #11?

Who, or Fritsch??

Two words - or maybe one. Bull [censored], or [censored].

Oskar Baker out for 6 weeks with Hamstring
OMG Where the hell is the exorcist? Normieās curse is alive and well. Not that he was likely to get a senior game this year but doing well at VFL and hopefully winning finals would be so important to his development. Poor bugger.

I love Roos ā¤ļø and spot on here. Five weeks .... what, so, if the Eagles bravely battle through without their star mid, he can play in the GF? Utter BS. However many weeks he gets it must be enough for him not to play again this season. A certain ex AFL player benefited from our softly softly judiciaries views on domestic violence it has just been reported. Are you seriously suggesting that we should not have a defence force trained to do hard things when necessary in the defence of our country? Or maybe you mean not letting them back into our society once they have put their lives on the line because they have been trained to kill bad people? Just what do you mean?

Losing Jack Viney
I know we have at least one physiotherapist on these fora, but do we have any podiatrists? Is there something as simple as getting the right footwear and or orthotics?

Red Card Rule
Whether it is introduced or whether it is not, one thing is certain - Gil and SHocking will find some way to stuff it up. The antithesis of the Midas touch - everything they touch turns to ? THE worst AFL (mis)management team in the long and once proud history of the game.
-
Red Card Rule
All sounds good, though should it be totally outcome related? A king hit is a king hit (poor term I know as nothing noble about it). And the sin binned player should not be replaced - ie the offending team plays one short. But it would have to be blatant stuff, as there are some 'line ball' things like the Moloney Bartell "incident" where contact wasn't even made but Moloney was ousted.

Not almost .... actually trumps Trump by a fair margin
-
Red Card Rule
Apparently not .... after all there were only 7 blind maggots watching the game. Maybe an argument for 36 maggots, so each player can be watched.

As am I and hopefully all who post here. ??????

"Records: Oldies but Goodies Being Superseded"
One doesnāt need a huge bag of goals to win a flag: IIRC our last flag was won with our rover, John Townsend kicking 35 to win our goal kicking. The top forward got I think 25 or so (Vagg will remember surely).

Rd 20: Video of the Week
How could any umpire who had integrity, and anywhere normal eyesight NOT pay that as holding the ball??

vanders: The Return
ONE game in 2 years -- of course he was going to take some time to attune to the pace of the game. Fortunately we could (re)-blood him vs GC$ and IMVHO he did OK - nothing spectacular but I think good enough to get him another game v much tougher opposition.

Andrew Gaff
It will be interesting to see how he spins this. Galbally! I wonder what he would be saying were the accused a Collingwood player? Well we wonāt get a chance to seeGus fronting up to Gaff in two weeks time, but he does get a chance to show WCE what he feels about them as a club. Are you really suggesting that this is not as bad as it looks because Brayshaw ducked into it? ? Fair dinkum ...... AFL canāt get anything tight especially regards rule changes. I havenāt seen any discussion about the almost certain concussion Young Brayshaw has suffered. Must be just awful for his family. NO SUBSTITUTE which is why it must be reserved for rare instances like this. Became an eminent pediatric surgeon I believe.

Andrew Gaff
I don't think that Houli and Bugg necessarily did - both were reckless, dangerous, but wild backward swings that hit their opponents hard - but Gaff was face on so how can you defend that as unintentional? 6 for the act plus more for the result. Very different - see above. Bug swung backwards, recklessly; Gaff hit him face on. I only saw the clip of the actual contact - was a free paid? If not then the (blind) team of 9 maggots (apparently) didn't see it. Agree - this could break Gaff mentally. Certainly not worth more that 50% of his previous asking price, and intense psychological assessment before anyone put a dollar on the table for him. And, maybe Hamish should be allowed apply for special dispensation and get an immediate transfer to Melbourne (or even Freo) to get away from playing with his brother's assailant.

Andrew Gaff
Are you preparing us for Christianās assessment. In play, accidental, good record, repentant, Downlow contender ...... (forget high severe contact) ........$3k fine, or, if suspension unavoidable for outside pressure considerations, apply the unwritten āwho plays next ruleā .... oh, Dees in 2 weeks .... one week.
-
Andrew Gaff
IMVHO this was a lot worse than Bugg Bugg threw a reckless and overzealous arm blindly backwards at someone who was at him from behind: Gaff threw a very deliberate punch to a players face whilst face on, knowing full well what he was going to hit. IF, IF there was any justice, integrity and impartiality in the match review process Gaff would get 6-8, however he will get 2-3 to enable him to participate in finals. Prepare for weasel words and double back flip standards.

Round 20 - Non MFC Games.
It is entirely 100% in our hands as to where we finish - even second, with double chance and home finals is possible .... in fact WILL happen if we win all our games. So ...no excuses.
-
The look of the game.
That was about the āworst look thingā I can recall at AFL. Can anyone recall just what reasoning the pathetic AFL commission gave for introducing this totally ridiculous rule? IIRC it was about limiting āthird man upā contests: surely it would have been far easier and more efficacious to just penalize any second player from a team getting involved in the ruck contest. Gil and his clowns seem to be doing that pretty well off their own boots.
-
Round 20 - Non MFC Games.
Clearly Swans winning would be best for us: then weāre we to knuckle down and win our remaining games top 2-4 beckons. Entirely in OUR hands, and no bloody excuses.

Casey Demons v Northern Blues - Round 18
āLooks ridiculousā which almost certainly guarantees it will be brought in, given the fact that Gill the Dill just loves introducing ridiculous changes.
