  1. Agree with that - nothing much went right for us (other than Tommy's incredible contested marking, the best I can recall from a MFC player ever, Ox included). The bounce, even the mis kicks just went Collingwood's way. But we certainly looked slow of foot, at least compared with the Pies mids. No doubt will be looked at in trade and draft period, but not so much we can do right now. Need to be a lot smarter. Need to look at it closely, learn, and move onwards. Converting hit outs to clearances is our big challenge - needs lots of study and work. It was appalling to see Max's jumper pulled, and arms wrapped around him and either no free or even worse him penalised. The club MUST demand clarification from the umpiring department. It will kill Max's confidence if unanswered.
  2. They set up too well Crunbing our bombs forward then gut running Hope we can learn ps. Who is the game day wuzzard in the box mentioned in another thread?
  3. ^^ Agree I have already alluded to The Phil Hughes injury, and the AFL were pissweak in their response to this cowardly and very dangerous act Bible bashing is his private matter: occipital bashing is not.
  4. VFL ex VDA has always had a lot of thuggery but if it is to remain the AFL Victorian second tier then the AFL need to get real and and facilitate better scrutiny and appropriate punitive action for these off ball incidents in particular. This is one big reason I was happy to see Gus “rushed back” into MFC and not risking getting decked behind the play by some lowlife I strongly suspect that the realignment will see this disloyal behaviour to be a thing if the past Good observation re the max game time numbers by the tall defenders - I think I saw that Oscar averages >90% and if other talks can then it is great for the mids. Hunt will need to reinvent himself if he is to remain a best 22 lock
  5. Firstly I certainly want to kick the daylights out of them, but Hard to pay anyone back for self inflicted drowning in one’s own bath water. They only won because they wanted to more than we, who felt it was a given Time to move on and just do it ✔️because it needs to be done
  6. Good news in many ways Interestingly I didn’t really mind the Cows too much until Weirdo Walker’s appalling outburst when Lever left. Now they are barely above Druggies, Carlscum, Colonwoid.
  7. Agree that this is grossly overused. Some of these ???touched endlessly looking at the fingers and so often inconclusive.
  8. Does anyone who is clever enough to make those gifs (or whatever) have access to this incident? I must say I don't remember the detail.
  9. McKenna must be on thin ice? And Bugg? Has Kent's hamstring recurring problem been the same leg? How many games has he missed through hamstring injuries? I hear that JKH has been burning it up at VFL but where would he fit in at AFL and whom would he displace? I am glad that I am not the list manager. They meaning VDB, and Kent or McKenna?
  10. Is Goy Lok a new face ? Of course this is the one and only televised Casey game so I wouldn’t know. Hunt Really Is at the crossroads Should he abandon HBF and concentrate on wing / outside mid? He would need to brush up his disposal skillls for that though.
  11. He came dangerously close to head butting #46 shin
  12. Those are also some of my pet gripes - no perspective of the overall set up - those, plus the appalling inane commentary team.
  13. Uninterested. Check a dictionary
  14. But thankfully no longer to us Pfffft. Who would wN5 such a loser ? Fined this week ..... surely if there is ever to be a suspension this serial offender deserves to be the prototype. Didnt see the match nor hear the commentary but did Brooooose cream himself and say how brave Prancer is in this contest?
  15. And he has still, it appears, had it all and then some ? Looks like one of those has had his nose out of joint a good few times.
  16. Lucky he hadn’t pulled a calf ?
  17. WTF this repeated talk of resting Spartacus?? We have a bye to follow.
  18. Try running that past the umpiring coaches or Gillon etc and prepare for spin not seen since Shane Warne retired.
  19. also which frees are missed, though much harder of course to quantify WCE just over the top. A further breakdown of home vs away WCE games could be very enlightening. No .. they get smaller crowds and are probably less vocal and feral than WCE. A further breakdown of the for and against stats by umpire would be of interest - Chamberpot certainly appears to penalise MFC for every possible trivial pursuit.
  20. I hope this is not suggesting that the likes of Tim Smith and Fritz are more likely than others to break down irreparably.
  21. As some have said, it is an unusual problem for us to have. I would expect Kent to need at least 2 or 3 weeks of great form at Casey to come into the discussions, and VDB even longer. IF Aaron does regain fitness I still suspect, barring a spate of injuries to 'like for like' players, he would probably be asked to see out most of the season at Casey: if this happened and he looked like remaining fit then perhaps a one year extension and a real bid to break into the side next year. But, sadly there are a lot of ifs.
  22. My point was, in essence, that no clubs, (or at very least none of at least the Melbourne based clubs) actually own and run their home ground, so why should one or another actually claim home rights with regard to finances when two teams make up a game? All grounds are significantly propped up by the taxpayer, most of whom are agnostic regards AFL, so why should one, or other, be financial beneficiaries due to the vaguries of a rigged “draw”?
  23. Fantastic stuff. Great culture being developed. So, if Tim doesn’t make it it would seem a comp between Peds and Weed, though the more I think about it could Weeds go to “CHB” as much as such position exists today?
  24. ✔️ just do it
  25. At risk of being accused of being a communist or a socialist, which I can assure you all I am anything but, it is time to recognise - two teams are required to have a match - multiple teams (currently IMO too many at 18) make up a competition - no team actually owns their “home ground” ...... they are all heavily subsidized by the taxpayer So - after deducting any actual outgoing from staging a match by the “home team”, split the gate, or even; - maybe too radical a thought but pool the lot and share the loot, maybe on a pro rate manner related to the membership numbers of the clubs. As it stands, there is a perpetual cycle of the rich getting richer and the poor making up the numbers.
