  1. A lot of junk on demonland too
  2. After years of attending most games, finally decided I'd have a mid season break against bombers and pies. However, Gawn this week and Scully next week (no need to rush him) I'll hack it again looking for just aglimpse of something to hang my hope on
  3. Did you go?
  4. Take it off, its not even worth a comment
  5. Mortons game is built around run. Expecting him to be physical is delusional. He has been so poorly managed this year. Following a long injury spell he should have been seen for what he is and pushed to run not bash. His range of skills will lift him to be an A grade player far before a number of our other young players. A 6ft 5in bean pole will take longer to fully adjust to smaller players with more bulk. I am totally at odds with the numerous opinions on this forum that think tackle is the only skill we need.
  6. You didn't list the North injuries
  7. Lets keep them and you pick another team to follow.
  8. Well said. I'm absol;utely with you on this. One of the really important project players at the club
  9. I'm sorry but a number of D fans I spoke to today commented that he was right on. Yes we have different opinions but those who have made their decision is significant. Get used to hearing it for the rest of the year.
  10. The problem is with your arguement is that it wasn't youth or the lack of game time that caused the problem. Every performance is measured against the opposition naturally but in the shadow of the other teams concurrent performance. Other young teams are progressing at a faster rate than we are
  11. Well said. I'm right with you. Bartram has some up side with determination but his douwn side highlights the major problem on the backline. When the forward press is on against us, we are poor at getting out of it. When Bartram gets the easy mark (short passing), he looks but doesn't have the mind or skill to spot and execute a sharp pass quickly and forward to counter press and break through the press. He stops, counts to ten then picks the easy safest option side/backwards. This tightens the press. The side/backwards pass is short and so slow that we don't get a good 'switch to attack down the far wing. All his reasonable defensive work is lost. With this very poor downside of his game he becomes a liability on the backline. Considering that we usually have 2 or 3 other modest backline disposals we regularly remain under a tight press until the turn over. I believe we need to plan for a major overhaul of the backline. Good luck to all the Bartram lovers, We all have our favourites, but the tough reality is you are turning a blind eye to a major problem we have and he's sadly a major cause of it.
  12. Warnock and Bartram especially give me the shits when they kick sideways or try and attempt to do stupid things in the defensive 50 by hospital handpasses and indecision regularly. We cost at least 4 goals from basic mistakes in our defensive 50.
  13. JMac has a lot to prove yet
  14. McLure.. I believe the decision has already been made on Bailey. It's all about managing the temporary changeover
  15. McLure..ABC .. The Saints were woeful.... Melbourne were worse (Yes I was there, ...every Victorian Game.. even skilled stadium... for many years) We are fragile, some signs of hope from kids. but we were bad.
  16. Excuses excuses excuses. That is football. Teams with substance rise above adversity
  17. An exciting event for all of us. Knowing the woman from University Publishing who worked with Liam I know this is going to be a special book. Football lovers will engross themselves in the story of our hero. But others who want to get a deeper insight into Australian indigenous culture will find it truly informative.
  18. One has to assess the potential of a player then the club shares responsibility to bring that player to full potential. Cale is potentially an elite player, very few runners oat 6'5". If we lose him we will be derelict
  19. They say he's got a good serve and back hand. Maybe that's what the players need
  20. They are not employers but a Commission
  21. It would have helped if you had been there and not relied on the comments of your mate who watched the game at the pub, thinking Melbourne were Black, Silver and Green. Buy a members ticket and join the keen supporters
  22. Takes one to know one. I believe you have poorly read his performance. To have competed as well as he did is significant. His prime potential is as a utility player who can ruck.
  23. We have made our bed and must now lay in it. I supported the strong cull at the time but it has proved a wrong decision. We tried for Judd but no go. You need several well established leaders at that mid age, but we'd be lucky to get one star.
