  1. I feel pretty similar, in fact I think there are thousands of us
  2. Mate it just my theory. Good players do not lose their ability just their desire. They just look like they would rather be peeling potatoes at the hilton. Why is that?
  3. Excellent piece. I have more than a little shared feelings in that story.
  4. I am unsure of why they now look so poor. My theory is that with no mid fielders the ball is constantly being speared into their half of the ground. Our back line is under constant pressure. They are now into their second season of this problem. It is impossible for them to hold back the tide. Give them some support from up the ground and they will improve. I think they are mentally exhausted. IMO both of them in a reasonable team would be back to 2010 form
  5. And you are still with her! Only joking Satyriconhome I think we all do, without JS we could quite easily be the GWdemons right now.
  6. Today I heard GD on SEN. Surprise surprise he was quite good I though. Basically said in spite of what people think he gets no pleasure out of seeing the way dees supporters are suffering. Said how he caught the tram home from the game and it was depressing to see Kids and supporters with depression on there faces. He said the league needs a "Melbourne" team Was quite measured in his comments. I found it difficult to disagree with him. He still believes that 90% of the problems are Management related. Poor decisions re Coaches and player selection are the root of our problems. He did not say it out right but you did not need to be a rocket scientist to work out who he was referring to. Said he did not know who was making player decisions but have been poor at it. He has stated often in the past the the likes of Roden, Byrnes, Pedersen and Gilies were poor choices. He said we were trying to do a Richmond ( pick experienced players from VFL etc )and there was nothing wrong with the approach. But again our selection as in drafting was terrible. Overall I thought he was close to the mark. Restored my faith in him a little.
  7. My Dad took me in 1959 to my first game. From memory ( fading fast ) it was QB It was not hard to be a dees supporter in 1959. A bit like taking up with Collingwood, Hawthorn or Geelong today. I thought the dynasty would go on forever but alas it came to an end 6 years later. But still I have the memories of going with my father until he died in early 90's He used to say to me towards the end I think we have had our glory son. I have had lots of fun being a Dees supporter but the last 6 years have not produced many laughs. Perhaps I will live long enough to see good times again.
  8. Still the Northern or Olympic stand The only dees area as such at an away game is the reserved section. Not sure but you may be still able to reserve a seat Otherwise you are bound to be near Bomber fans as I doubt there will be many Dees in the public sections But contact the club they might make arrangements for interstate vistors.
  9. Now that is a good idea DemonWA, it is hard to see him being worse than Tapscott I think that is his spot. IMO that is where he has played the vast majority of his good games. we are trying to make him a mid simply because we have only 1 mid at present.
  10. Not sure 2012 would suggest he was more than a plodder RB. However he has bugger all Pre season, a serious foot injury and Poor form ( not really surprising ) last week with Casey. I would wonder why he would be played this weekend. If as many suggest we are only 1 week into a 22 game season. Why play him before he has shown has some touch and the fitness to go the distance in an AFL game. In is not as though he is coming off a wonderful 2012
  11. Not sure there is a lot of difference there Chook
  12. In the end HG there is more to life than a football club and a not very good one at that. AS wyl says please do not put yourself in a dangerous position they are not worth it.
  13. I have a feeling Jaded we are so far down the tube it is impossible to escape the end result. We are irrelevant the next step is oblivion
  14. Malthouse also said we had a great list and would a good side in the future.
  15. Very Good Mono It pays to keep your sense of humour. I smiled
  16. My father told me a long time ago "never act in anger you will make the wrong decision" Give yourself a little time to consider what you can and cannot say. Then when Calm make your case. Believe me it works way better.
  17. I would bet the North people were laughing themselves silly on Sunday night. They traded Pedersen for a small reward and got away with it
  18. Come on olisik Training is like dancing with your sister. The real world starts on game day
  19. You might be right. My experience in Football is fairly limited as i never got above country football. I also never had a coach I hated or a game plan I did not understand. It was a long time ago unfortunately and the plan was fairly simple. Get the ball and attack and when you did not have it defend like your life depended on it. I do know however I always went out thinking we had a chance and I was trying to beat my opponent. I did however play against sides that thought they were crap and they tossed it in fairly quickly. They then either ran around getting kicks or slowed a little so the contest was over before they arrived. Saw a lot of the last one on Sunday
  20. I was there in the latter part RobbieF I never saw a MFC side play with no conviction like last Sunday They might have been half as fit and had half the skill. But they played like every game was their last one. That is what won five flags in 6 years
  21. Not sure I agree DemonWA I have worked under those conditions and you give enough to stay employed till you can get a better offer. You sure don't go the extra 5% I don't think Footballers would be any different.
