Well, I would like to hear him say he will be playing for us next year and not leaving this big decision to his manager. He can wax lyrical about us but it means rats arse until his manager anoints us. I hope the hold up is just fine print stuff on trivial details.

Any further updates on Jack? Is he still alive? Anyone seen him lately?

We should be thankful we still have a choice. -
Blease Round 20 Rising Star nomination

Damm! May break the other leg this week. -
I am still on the fence about Neeld. Came into the club at a difficult situation. What irks me now is the current incompetents that run the club have quite a few years up their sleeve to use the excuse our list is young and inexperienced to cover up the fatal errors they have already made.

The best of all mongrels were able to shrug off severe physical punishment as well as dish it out. Brereton had this quality, so did Rod Grinter and Joel Selwood can too. Our current crop of tougher players certainly go in hard but would not be as resiliant if they took a big hit. Jones would be the best in this respect IMO. Tapscott dishes it out but cops a lot too. Trouble with him is he spends too much game time picking up his marbles after a big hit. Players like Grinter who was a marked man every game nearly always bounced straight up after a big hit. I had never seen him down for the count after a brutal hit unlike many opponents who crossed him.

I would agree too that Windy Hill was the worst ground to visit and could be frightening. The Bombers supporters on the outer thought they were Ron Andrews clones and behaved like him. Saw a lot of fights and unprovoked violence by their supporters.

The most encouraging game I've seen from him. Seems to have shed some callowness.

I have said we'd have to be nuts to let him go. If he had intentions of going we might have seen dicky knee syndrome or similar appearing. But coming to contract signing season we are starting to see his potential. Then again we have seen in the past, players stepping up when contracts are on offer but in this case his skills and pace are to die for. If he goes some one at the club needs to be courtmartialed.

As a supporter do you feel duped by the MFC

And the direction this club has taken since 2008 has sucked all the energy and fighting spirit out of the players. Mediocrity was the mantra for two seasons. -

Reflects my opinions. Have copped a lot of flak from the propaganda duraks on this forum. Well said. -

If Rivers goes, it will be for political reasons and not football related. -

There is disturbing amount of Deja Vu in what you are saying. Back to the Barassi days all over again. -

Good thing Frawley is safe at the moment. -
Yeah the damage may have already been done. We haven't seen for a long time such a dispirited team with only a few individuals the odd ones out. The promise that things have changed have not materialised by improved performances on the field as yet. At the moment many supporters pin their hopes on belief on what they been told that we are on the right track. IMO a buying time exercise by the current regime.

Umpires influenced by Crowd
John Crow Batty replied to Jumping Jack Clennett's topic in Melbourne Demons
That's why passionate supporters are required. It's all part of the theatre. Players get charged up by vocal supporters and the umps get sucked in nearly always by the most positive energy. Interstate clubs have the edge at home with overwhelming support but here in Vic it's the pies who do best because they have supporter clout to influence 1%ers at critical moments. Fact of football life. Sometimes it has worked for us in the past too. -
On The Couch lacks integrity, relevance
John Crow Batty replied to Ron Burgundy's topic in Melbourne Demons
I believe it is safe to assume there has been some disharmony at the club. In these days where a 100% commitment is demanded by the players just to be competetive it is critical that player morale is kept at an optimal level. Question is how much still remains. Spending money on big recruits and other measures may make things worse unless the root cause of the disharmony is neutralised. -
What the hell is wrong with Freaks post? He said he did not jeer or gloat but stated an opinion popular here in that Morton is not up to it and is a serial whipping boy which is a fact on this forum. He was very honest on the widely held opinion of Morton. Lucky for Morton he did get injured or else he would have been tarred and feathered out of town by the same hypocrites who now righteously defend him. And typical that one of the first pack dog responses came from a Bona Fide ostrich
