Trying to add a bit of humour to posts does not necessarily make a poster 'an idiot', appreciate TD's efforts, but personally I wouldn't care if Andrew Walker was traded to the Chicago Bears, I am only interested in the Melbourne trades and I was actually going to 'cut and paste' from the list

I agree, you will find that Jetta is being groomed to be a midfielder not a forward, you will find he has the body type to mature quickly, just look for the size after pre season........If we can get Davey for next to nothing ie without trading anybody, or a round 3 draft pick then go for it........
-
If you read his twitter he has been doing the weights for a few weeks now, so shoulder must be ok....he keeps saying he is trying to get 'big'.....must get a bit of ribbing from team mates, know Chip is one of his best, so standing next to him must make him feel small.....think he wants a run in China
-
......a Watts' doubter....I would say you are in a minority which is getting smaller all the time.....What Bailey is looking for I assume is a big body we can use as a 'get out jail' card when we attack, if we have no other option we can bomb it in and hopefully get it to ground, if not marked, and maybe clear out a few bodies.....PJ was tried, Newton was tried, both unfortunately failed.........Fitzpatrick when he puts on about another 20k and Gawn when he is physically ready will be given a go...but until then maybe a reject from another club aged about 25-28 who would be grateful to be given another crack for a year..with the option...Bailey has spoken and apart from us on here discussing it I am sure there are a few player managers doing exactly the same thing with the FD.

Everybody seems to think Watts was recruited to stand in the goal square, no he wasn't, he is an elite kick, has great vision and as we have seen this season, can run all day........he will be a very large goal kicking forward, who will be allowed to pop up anywhere he likes........We may recurit a big body for a year or two to stand in the goal square until Gawn and Fitzpatrick are ready to play the big body forward and part time ruckman....
-
and what 'mistake' did 'we' make with Cheney....who by the way is contracted for 2011...isn't he....thought he signed new deal right at beginning of year?....
-
Again, my two bob's worth, perhaps it is Jones' that is looking for pastures new, the 13th in the B&F after playing all the games wouldn't have pleased him. Perhaps he can see the writing on the wall, if he is out of contract it is quite easy for him to sign a new one if offered....what if he hasn't..... the midfield next year will have quite a few candidates to rotate through the 5 or 6 positions (if you count the wing as midfield)....in no particular order.......Davey, Moloney, Sylvia, Jetta, Blease, Scully, Trengove, Gysberts, , Tapscott, Mortno, Bail, Green, Bruce, McKenzie, Grimes...... do we really need Jones....

That is a very fine argument, well put and backing up your rationale. I agree with some posters also, I love Nathan Jones' hard at it approach in games and at the moment is ahead of other mmidfielders. But next year I don't think that will be the case, unfortunately I think he is a bit one dimensional, he has had four years to work on his game and yes I agree he has made some improvement but I fear not enough. If he is traded, of course these are only unfounded rumours, I for one would not be too disappointed, in the same way I wasn't when Brock McLean went (again somebody who is/was a bit one dimensional)

The contracts may run that way, but if a player seriously injures themselves then the club is up for medical bills etc unless the player signs waiver..........Miller I think is using this to shop himself around and as I said Bell maybe having a swansong........PJ and Newton don't play if they are not picked....given no choice
-
What if they have both been let go by MFC, insurance if they get injured etc, Miller is there by choice and I think Bell is as well playing out his career because don't think he will look at going to another club, reckon injury has got him...others are all still on contract, still think the club will keep by Hughes and Healey....I thought the rule was 12 and 10

As a beard wearer myself I am both perplexed and amazed by many men thinking facial hair is a turn off for the ladies..au contraire.by the way Lynden's pregannt partner hates the mo but she can't persuade him to shave it off and she was disgusted that he dyed it whilst she was asleep........
-
Ok everybody take a deep breath, we are coming up to Draft and Trade week, Adalaide and Port have trouble attracting players, so let's put a good news story out there.........I will believe it next year....
-
.do we know who the author is, can't find him on any of the MFC staff lists?
-
I spoke to Dean Bailey about Bennell the other day, his answer was that he wasn't going to get a game in Adelaide because they thought he was running out of steam/form after a long season, but they persisted but dropped him this week, I assume Brad Gotch gets some say in who he wants to play, unless he wasn't given a choice.....
-
I can see your reasoning, but goals from the boundary have started to appear with alarming regularity in the last few weeks, we even had a couple at the weekend, the goal of the year should be given to something freakish, but saying that I think Franklin will get it
-
I would just like to put a bit in here....I happened to be out exercising on Friday morning and went past AAMI park, the forwards were coming out to have a bit of a kick..so I stopped to watch..and they played around with a soccer ball...so perhaps Dunn's soccer goal was not such a freak, similar to LJ's side foot for a goal a couple of weeks ago.......there were rugby posts up at one end and the session finished with who could hit the crossbar with a footy......also if Brad Miller is looking for a left field move, he was excellent with the soccer ball, juggling, kicking etc.
-
Good grief it must be quiet and the season is coming to an end, this is what Brad Gotch wrote in the Casey review this week James Strauss: James played in the reserves. He’s set to have a operation this weekend. We had to blood someone else for finals, so he was very understanding of that, so he played in the reserves to have a final hit out for the year. It would’ve been easy to play him in the seniors. Strauss will be fine, he will have another year to prove his worth or otherwise, why must we make a habit of continually writing off 18 and 19 years old and then having to eat humble pie a year later.....
-
Maybe Ron Barassi when the court case has finished, with Tommy Hafey as fitness coach, I have more chance of being appointed Essendon coach (I think) than Daniher, although I think the strangeness that Sheedy brought to his last few years there has infected everybody else.....as an aside I have two Bombers members where I work who have ripped up their memberships and have no intention of renewing next year
-
I was going to elaborate but a couple of posters have already done that, suffice to say I agree with both, he will be a 'good' AFL player if he continues to develop and we have more than enough of them
-
Watched him play, I'm not
-
errrrrr...........NO

I agree, to listen to some of the supporters you would think the season has been a complete failure, last year we won three games, this year at the moment 8 (hopefully 9, to give Junior the send off he deserves), we have played badly/poorly in about 5 and deservedly lost, and played ok but got beaten or drew in the other 8, we have never been smashed this season,(100+ ponts) from memory biggest margin is probably eight or nine goals....when the game plan has clicked we have been awesome (the Sydney game).......I am really looking forward to next season and the improvement again
-
I was at both the Darwin and Brisbane games where we got really good victories, Darwin in oppressive heat and Brisbane where is was humid and moist, showed me we are getting there, we had a really good crack against Freo and just couldn't do it, so apart from Geelong, by coincidence we have put in two bad interstate games both in Adelaide......this will change

As one of the apologists., I'll have a go......I assume that you are still working, do you work to the same standard everyday, or do you have the occasional off day, did you have a job at 18-19 where the outside pressure to perform your job perfectly was enourmous and if you didn't you could hear the howling........do you work in a team where all 21 of your work colleagues have to perform to their best at exactly the same time as you to achieve the result you are looking for....the past is the past, the club is going forward, I am now focussing on next Sunday to farewell a great champion of the club, we have improved with the occasional glitch...next season will be better and we will improve even more, again with the occasional glitch....every club has them but the less you have the better, Collingwood played like absolute champions at the weekend didn't they?..........if you are gooing to support MFC...support
