  1. I see now Scully and McKenzie coming back through Casey and having to earn their spots
  2. I for one was shattered when we lost to West Coast, and I let my feelings be known, but I still rock up to the games and support my team, I also go and have a look at the final run on a Satuday morning, I am lucky to live quite close. I have become such a regular, Dean Bailey approached me to talk, which he has in the past, if you have a question, ask him guys, he will give you a straight answer. The converations on Saturday went a bit like this, it is not verbatim Me.....enjoy the week Dean DB.....yeah... Me...you first about last week DB...we were shithouse Me...we had a couple of positives, Jack Watts, Bartram's consistency DB..... Yeah but the players are so frustrated, they don't want to play like that and they won't tomorrow Me...we seem to panic DB...yeah but we shouldn't Me......at least a couple of players have put their hand up and walked through the door....I indicated Matty Bate who was in front of us DB...yeah and Matty Warnock has been really consistent Me...What about my favourite Nev Jetta DB...yeah love his attitude and tackling.... He then went to walk away to take training, as he left I said I like the fact that the players were learning and wished him look I have had at least three or four conversations like this, he may look on the outside like he is cool and collected, but inside he feels everything.........I for one want him to be there when we start to display what we did yesterday consistently, and so do the players
  3. Win the first centre clearance Not concede a goal in the first three minutes First pass to hit the target No opposition forward taking an uncontested mark inside 50 with no Melb player within 5 metres If it is your time to go YOU GO!!!!!
  4. Nev Jetta - he is not the most gifted, fastest, tallest etc etc but he gives 110% each time, loved his game for Casey at the weekend, wear his number on my jumper, unfairly picked on on this board, pay to remember he is only just 21, being groomed long term for the midfield Junior Mac - as above
  5. I am going to turn up and my partner, we always do, no matter what....but this week if we are forced to endure another weak as pee performance like last Thursday, I will be removing myself from my perch at the top of the Ponsford amd going down to level 1 to boo their every step off the MCG......I have always wanted to see one thing, win or lose, and that is every player having a crack...that's all I need.....
  6. Think the Le Cras issue is a smokescreen, I would be 'amazed' if he was named, wasn't a slight calf injury, it was groin related and rush back and it will play up, although obviously Bailey has had someobdy watching Eagles training....unless of course he is joining in the game playing
  7. Fatuous sorry Furious Dee, you can abuse all you want, coz obviously you don't read the posts you just go off, the only thing I am dissatisfied with is the intensity at the start and in the 3rd quarter,I did not post anything abusive about the players, it is only you who is abusive, obviously something you have to resort to to get your point across which I find rather sad. And if you bother to read the article on the MFC website you will see Jack Grimes agrees....I am not a keyboard hero, I have actually watched and played the game for nearly as long as you...... it just peeves me when players who get a lot of money for doing something they love have a bit of a bludge.......
  8. If you must be abusive, you will note that I for one did not compare us to anybody, what I want to see is improvement on last season, and I did not see that at the beginning or in the 3rd quarter, yes Collingwood were outplayed but you will notice they took their foot of the pedal and it was Richmond's excperienced players who stood up....we collectively went to sleep in the 3rd against a team of 'boys'.......I will accept errors, but I will not accept a lack of intemsity or attack on the ball
  9. As most of the posters here will know I am usually one of the most optimistic, glass half full posters on this board, but for once I have to agree with some of the posters, yes we won by 90 points but it was scrappy, the start was terrilbe, the 3rd quarter performance was disgraceful and some of the decision making was ordinary to say the least. The intensity is still lacking for some reason Until we rectify the obvious issues that still exist, we may beat the bottom half teams, if we can sustain a 4 quarter effort, but against the top teams, we will get hammered and deservedly so. We will be very lucky to scrape into the 8 if that game is any indication,
  10. One thing that is forgotten in all this rhetoric, is the so called experts are paid large substantial amounts of money for their opinion, what they do is actually read some of the forums like this one, pick a topic and run with it, fill the article, commentary, sound bite, full of comparisons, statistics, slow motion replays etc etc and it sounds like the truth.....collect pay cheque and go home........as I said if you asked a player 10 or 20 years ago what the gameplan was, he would have answered "get it forward and kick a goal", the basic premise has not changed, it is the way that it is analysed ad infinitum that has
  11. It is not cheerleading, but glass half full rather than half empty, personally I have been watching football for over 30 years, and the basic thing still applies, kick the ball through the big sticks to win. But we have progressed where if Dane Swann happens to fart out on the field, the decibels, velocity, direction and whiffieness are captured by the surround sensors and analysed and dissected thoroughly on the forty two thousand tv programs, newspaper columns, net forums, blog sites, twitter accounts etc dedicated to footy each week. As long as we move the ball forward and kick goals and stop the opposition doing it, I don't care if Bailey borrows Einsteins Theory Of Relativity and turns it into a game plan...... I watch the game, not analyse it, we are just too inconsistent at the moment, but we will get there.....that is the plan
  12. We have a gameplan, but it needs the players to follow it to the letter, hence Bailey's, Stynes' and Scwab's frustration, Bartram said as much in the aftermath of the Hawks game ie 'we panicked, we lost our structures etc etc"...we have seen it click quite a few times in the last year or two, but it needs to be more consistent.......
  13. ...ah the joy of being on the end of a hard working team where nearly all the players are in form, Hurley must be loving every second of it......... Melbourne are misfiring on quite a few cylinders at the moment. Jack Watts included , as Bailey goies about tuning the engine, replacing a part with a Gys here and a Wonna there.....should be purring mid season.... I distinctly remember Jack R at Richmond was going to explode this year and be even better, not at the moment because they can't get the ball to him and he is being tripled teamed... Jack Watts is learning every game, he is working on different aspects of his game etc etc.......just be patient...
  14. I put a post up saying that Jack Viney has appeared at the training run on both the last two Saturday mornings, to have a run with the team, looks really sharp and fit already Spoke to Todd at the Casey game, they are hoping to do a Liberatore, ie keep himm training and playing with a monitored program in place, so when he is drafted he is really ready to go from day one. He is at 80kg at the moment and growing slightly taller.
  15. I can't find another topic about this, but watched training on Saturday morning and there was a young guy in an unnumbered shirt....nice to see Jack Viney up and about and he looked ready to go now, .....asked Dean Bailey what was going on and he said they are looking after Jack's training loads and having the occassional look at him with the group...nice
  16. .......the only bit I will add.... somebody said that if we continue to produce performances like that then the number of supporters will stop coming to games.....they can't be supporters if they do that....and they will be the ones jumping back on and expecting a grand final ticket in a few years time.......and I totally and completely agree with RR
  17. Doggo, Just a few more thoughts on Aussie, although those that were there seem to have been watching different games, yes his forward pressure was there, a goal came from it, two other goals were 1. crumbing after Howe attempted a fly against two oppenents and the ball came down straight to Aussie and the other where Aussie caught his opponent sleeping and got away from him for an easy mark and goal. But in my humble opinion it was a good hitout for him and yes he is starting to get back to his best, but he set a very high standard and he is nearly there, I thought the best forward on the day was Marcus Margiolani (think that is the spelling) for Sanday, he looked a class above in the first half. Good to get back on topic, so the player bashing can abate for the a while
  18. Aussie did ok after a quiet first half, it was the VFL, just starting to look good again, I wouldn't say standout...
  19. I was also at the game, Aussie was quiet in the first half, but scraped off the rust in the second and looked to be getting back to where he should be. Blease had some nice touches, practice game and was thinking too far ahead for some of his teammates Howe showed again some nice touches, combining with Aussie with him attempting to pack mark and Aussie crumbing Cook couple of nice pieces of play McDonald, my early call will be alongside Frawley in a year or two, couple of errors but also a couple of good things Spencer was Spencer Gawn, starting to get some good game time in Johnston, bit of grunt in the middle and a couple of howitzer kicks
  20. I spoke to Sam Blease at the Family Day and Dean Bailey at training on Friday, Sam had a bit of tonsilitis the week before and put him back a bit, he came through unscathed at Casey, and is itching to have a run in the Seniors

  22. 1. I am surprised that the forwards didn't get cold waiting for a decent ball into the 50. 2. Wish other people would listent to what Jack Grimes said about the high rotations. 3. It is preseason we need to try things and then work on what went wrong
  23. If it is like last year, no, but you may get a discount......
