  1. Cotchin is playing half a game at the moment, if they put a hard tag on him he falters, last weekend being the example, but he is going to be good, why must we compare? So is Trengove It doesn't matter where they were picked, the guy who came back from injury and killed us at the weekend was picked at 58. Everybody needs time to develop, JT has been in a team that has been at the very bottom, give us a couple of years. The glass is always half empty for some isn't it
  2. Spoke to Ricky Bobby at Fed Sq, he is injured, might be a couple of weeks before fit again
  3. Try looking at how many games he played last season, he played quite a few and kicked a few goals as well
  4. If they are feral it means they are not natural, which is what I have thought about most Collingwood supporters, perhaps she was an introduced species from Gippsland if we want to become completely politically incorrect
  5. We have all listened to Mark Neeld and Dave Misson, if Trengove was injured he would not repeat not be playing, I spoke to Roh Bail who is itching to play, but they won't let him until they are absolutely sure there is no long term affects of the concusstion. It would be absolutely pointless playing Jack now if we were injuring him. As somebody else has said, he is out of form, plain and simple, but they are getting him to do the in and under work, the rest will come.
  6. How do we know what 'Moloney' said, it was his manager who spoke Journalist "well Mr Moloney's manager, free agency is coming in what is Brett going to do?" Mr Moloney's manager "well I suppose we'll have to look at it, see what it means for Brett Journalist then writes......Moloney looks like leaving Melbourne.... Also this is an opinion, David Cloke is only interested in David Cloke
  7. All this midfield stuff is nonesense, proved last weekend by GAbletts 53 touches, how many were actually effective, even Mr Judd is proving mortal now he hasn't got a supporting cast around him to make him look good. A good midfielder needs to get clearances, have a lot of forward 50 entries, goal assists, work both ways, and if possible kick a few goals......last year Beamer was doing that for us, hence the 19 or so Brownlow votes, this year he has had a niggly injury and a drop of form. Swan and Pendlebury do this week in week out for the Pies that is why everybody thinks they are guns, but they also have the luxury of Blair, Wellingham, Sidebottom, Ball, Beames, Didak, Thomas and a few others rotating through to help them out Same with the gun midfield of Richmond now, there are at least six or seven We actually beat Essendon coz Jordy Mac shut down Stanton and Watson couldn't do everything, and his backup cast failed to turn up We are still developing our midfield, Magner has played 10 games, Morton is rotating through there, Grimes has now got his body right to move into there, Jones is playing his guts out every week....we have had quite a few injurites so players have been in and out, Bail last week So Mr Neeld and Mr Moloney sat down had a chat and thought we will play Beamer forward of the ball against Essendon and see if we can get him up and running a bit more, "I was stagnating" quoteth the man in his interview. It worked, he looked a completely different player again from previous weeks, try it again this week.... I for one hope Beamer stays, he deserves to get the success we all crave
  8. Oh look! you opened my favourite door, if you have thoughts and opinions yes you can express them, but you need to back them up with facts, stats, observations etc otherwise other posters will ask you why....you will notice further back I asked old Jose why....he hasn't answered so maybe he doesn't know why..why?
  9. You should have just put the first and second line......
  10. Watts will never be a key forward, he would be wasted, if we must compare, listen to what Neeld said paraphrase 'there are players at other clubs that don't have a defined role'......ie Goodes, Goddard, Hodge....this will be Watts in the future...can go fwd and kick, play on the wing, third man up in the ruck...(did it at least twice on Sat night), half back, floater etc etc Col Garland was a gun junior fwd in Tassie Jack Grimes was a gun junior midfielder/halfback But versatility/flexibility is the key I expect Neeld to keep doing this
  11. Tommy Mac lined up on Jetta during the game, he is very fast for his size, he will hold his place....
  12. I only reread this because a couple of people are talking about soccer To answer, why am big noting, what I was saying was that unless you have been an AFL listed player, you have no idea what it is like, what is required etc etc, so therefore yes you can have an opinion on a player...but to put it in a different vernacular...why the need to slag them off. What I was saying is in my field of work because I have experienced the actual 'environment' I can see where somebody is not performing, I do not slag them off though...my field of work not being footy but using it as a comparison Hiope that clears that up for you
  13. I assume you are speaking from experience and have done this quite a few times to the adulation of the thousands who were watching you do it....no pressure of course
  14. To paraphrase the great Groucho Marx, "when I read the title of this topic, I couldn't stop laughing, one day I intend to read the posts"
  15. yawn!!!!!!! more hot air by somebody who gets paid for generating it....maybe he will discuss his massive success at Richmond next
  16. Oh look something innovative, interesting and outside of the box that MFC is doing, surely not, we can't have that, stop it
  17. I wonder if the Carlton scouts who were watching from the other side of the Paddock will think the same thing......bloody MFC tricking us with coloured bibs.....sigh
  18. Don't worry about Old Dee, he brings us all back to reality......now if I could just remember where I have parked my unicorn today......
  19. You will find that you have not had any/many replies to this because you have broken many of the cardinal rules of this board. Your piece 1. Thoroughly researched 2. Logical in approach 3. A well thought out and expressed opinion 4. Lack of negativity 5. Non-emotive 6. Not derogatory, demeaning, condescending to anybody Please don't let the lack of feedback stop you putting up more posts like this, I for one thought it was a pleasant change and it highlights one the many issues people tend to overlook 'in the heat of the moment' This will bump it up to the top of the board so hopefully you will get more replies, but be careful what you wish for
  20. Line of the decade, read this over lunch five minutes ago, still applauding and laughing
  21. Careful, you have actually given the subject some thought, we can't have that, I agree, we have certainly been having 'annus horribilis........there has been a myriad of reasons why we are where we are at the moment, fix them one at a time and we will go forward...... even if you pick one from above, Nev Jetta had not only built himself up and was feeling the benefits of another solid pre season, he was actually improving (coaching staff words not mine) and was looking at a change of role, then the ankle goes......
  22. I believe in a counter measure, the Herald Sun is trawling for a player to write a hard hitting expose of Norm Smith and how he made the players train twice a week and cut the ciggies down......really I spent a couple of minutes of chortling over the article, I am expecting Jolly to announce his engagement to Paul Roos any day now..........
  23. I thought the email was all about him actually, I would say no great loss
  24. This is exactly what it is an opinion piece, no better or no worse that the rest of the hot air that has been around this week, I think from another topic the Darren Jolly piece takes the cake, this is talking about something 10 years ago
