  1. He is due to miss 2 matches according to MFC injury report.
  2. Don't you love big Max. His agility is amazing for a guy who is 208 cms. At one stage on the wing he turned and twisted like a wingman. I love his enthusiasm and doing the basics like shepherding. Keep fit Max.
  3. Well spoken C&B! Too many unfair critics on this site. The boys ARE improving and trying bloody hard.
  4. 6. Byrnes 5. Terlich 4. Sylvia 3. Watts 2. Gawn 1. Evans
  5. Had to laugh at the ABC commentator's comment on radio today. " The Suns BIG MEN are proving a real problem for the GIANTS"
  6. It didn't worry Essendon in their first game of the season nor did it worry the Sharks in their first game after the drug allegations. Here's hoping it won't worry our boys.
  7. From what I saw on the 7.30 Report none of the substances used on our players are banned so maybe it is not as frightening as it originally seemed. They certainly didn't do anything to enhance our performance did they?
  8. Surely Carlton was a real test for the Tigers? The Blues have dominated Richmond for a long period. Make no mistake Richmond are the real deal. See if I'm right. Sad to think that we were better than them just a few seasons ago. At this time, we were both described as 'developing' teams. Oh well, at least one team succeeded in the development sector.
  9. What about the 'handballs' backwards and over the head. They are very suspect.
  10. I too thought the best Jeremy could do was to spoil but we know what happened! Landed awkwardly and I hope he doesn't do himself any damage in the future. Knowing our luck .........................After all this is the MFC.
  11. No worries, it was clearly a legal handball. Never a throw.
  12. Looking on a POSITIVE side. IF we beat the Giants and Carlton lose to West Coast we will for one whole week at least be ahead of Giants and CARLTON on the ladder! Glorious thought don't you think?
  13. And they just cost me a perfect score in my tipping!
  14. My thoughts exactly. Give the kid room to breathe.
  15. I now know the real cause of all our problems. The SELECTION PANEL! What has Petersen done for such a quick recall? He was only playing against the easy beats Frankston. Did Sam Blease a deserve the chopper? Watts could have been given one more chance IMO. He really is too good to discard.
  16. If they do decide to step in what can they do?
  17. Watching that thrashing of Adelaide produced two important points for me. Sylvia CAN play excellent footy and Jack Watts should be a forward kicking goals.
  18. Thanks Stuie. I did say YESTERDAY in my post didn't I?
  19. What exactly was aggressive about my question? And what was aggressive about my FACTUAL statement? Who is really being aggressive now? Do you change your mind often?
  20. Why are you worried? You gave the Dees the chop yesterday.
  21. Correct. I counted just 6 centre clearances for us for the whole game. The Bummers got the rest. Someone suggested that Jamar should occasionally belt the ball in the direction of our forwards and at least get the ball to the right end. Ala Jeff White.
  22. I can only hope all those posters who have thrown in the towel and waved the white flag will also LEAVE OUR FORUM FOR GOOD. Negative bleating does NO ONE any good. We don't really need to hear their complaints, gripes etc. Of course it was a miserable performance but true loyalty is reflected when the going gets tough. Sadly,we just don't have the necessary talent at present. Although a teenager then I stuck it out in 1951 when we were wooden spooners with just ONE win for the season. The reward came just 3 years later when we were runners up to Footscray and of course, we all know the huge success that followed in the ensuing years. Well done to all the DEMONLANDERS who are NOT deserting the ship which is on the rocks at the moment. Football is a strange game. In 2000 we were beaten by Carlton at the MCG by 100 points. When we met the later in the finals in the same year we beat them by about 20 points.
  23. So like me you are one of the lucky ones with the mighty Dees winning 6 flags in your lifetime thus far. I was around for the 1948 premiership although very young. 7 flags for me. BUT it's been a long time between drinks!!!!!!
  24. Never saw a game where Bruce didn't give 110%. Despite his supreme fitness he was absolutely spent after every game. Yes, you can criticise his kicking etc but not his endeavour. He was a leader off the field providing an excellent role model to the younger guys by his high training standards and general personal qualities. A bad move to let him go so easily. Losing Junior at the same time was such a mistake and we certainly paid for it in the ensuing seasons.
  25. He had a really bad day and he ADMITTED it and vowed that it wouldn't happen again. He is too good a player to be ruthlessly discarded. His skills are just sublime.
