Add yourself to that list Yarra! Maybe drop them all and get the favours the AFL gave to the Suns and the Giants.

How many coaches get killed by this list?
Bobby McKenzie replied to Soidee's topic in Melbourne Demons
I have already suggested Ivan Lendl for the mental toughness component but, can we afford him? -
Craig has coached himself out of contention
Bobby McKenzie replied to The Yarra's topic in Melbourne Demons
Craig did say after our thrashing yesterday that (quote)" Improvement doesn't happen in a straight line". Just as we looked to be showing marked progress under Craig we suffered a severe downturn which has disappointed many of us. Let's watch the remaining games before we condemn Craig. He certainly seems to have the players confidence. -
Freedom of the press Gorgoroth. If the poster wants to use capitals what's the problem? Capitals may merely be used to stress a point and don't necessarily indicate so called 'shouting'. Very petty comment indeed.

In full agreement here. Rodan has worked his butt off and gives a lot of grunt in the packs. Pleased Blease is back but Rodan can consider himself unlucky.

Realistically where I see the playing list

Rodan, Too slow????? -
Fair comment, but I guess I was alluding to the fact that we could do with a 'Lendl type' in the form of tough, champion footballer as Lendl was in tennis.

This guy knows absolutely nothing about AFL football but wouldn't he be a great coach in the area of MENTAL TOUGHNESS, AGGRESSION and WILL to WIN. His name? Ivan Lendl. What he has done with Andy Murray is unbelievable. Murray is now hard and aggressive something that he lacked earlier. Always had the ability. We have ability and it just needs a Lendl type of coach to develop our mental approach and toughness. Surely there is an Aussie around who could do a Lendl.

Joeboy, I like and enjoy your clever 3 word comments BUT saying that we would have lost by over 100 points is as LOGICAL as me saying that if we had scored 20 goals straight instead of 13.7 we would have WON!

Very encouraging. Boys are so much better under Craig where they are given freedom to do what they can do best. Great effort today against the reigning premiers.

Like common sense V stupidity?

Nothing soft about Watts with his game winning and game saving efforts against the Dogs. Think about it Clint, could ANYONE who plays AFL football be really so called 'soft'? It's a tough, tough game.

If Spencer gets more weeks than Simpkin then.....
Bobby McKenzie replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Footballers from previous decades must be bemused by the current head contact rule. Gee, Spencer was not in any way trying to take out his opponent. Merely trying to win the ball. Netball is getting rougher!! If the AFL are really serious about preventing head injuries then make helmets for all players compulsory. They are fast converting our great game into a no contact sport. Spencer will be suspended but he shouldn't. -
Changes Next Week v Western Bulldogs
Bobby McKenzie replied to Straight Sets Simon's topic in Melbourne Demons
Why drop Rodan? He gives us a bit of grunt and adds the vital experience component we require. He is always hard at it and gives his all. -
I've got no problems with the collar. Hardly noticeable. Talk about a storm in a teacup!

Or maybe just DEE-LUDED?

Absolute rubbish about Brad Green. Not a leader but a great player. Don't you remember his courage in running back with the flight of the ball to take one gutsy mark after another? He received some bad injuries because of his gutsy play. Also, it was very unfair to criticise his game in the GF . He was a FIRST YEAR Player and very raw and young.

Which clubs Gamestyle, do you most Respect & Enjoy?
Bobby McKenzie replied to dee-luded's topic in Melbourne Demons
Melbourne 1956! What a team! Today, I would lean towards Sydney. They are so relentless, uncompromising and bonded. They play as a perfect team. Wish we could emulate them. Geelong, of course, are great to watch too with their amazing talent all over the field. Maybe we could be a combination of Sydney and Geelong. That would get us out of the doldrums. -
Sorry, my mistake! He coached Adelaide to a Minor premiership in 2005. They went out in the Preliminary Final. Craig had a couple of good seasons with the Crows though. 2005 and 2006 with 35 wins against 14 losses. Got Adelaide into the finals 5 times in a row so he can't be as bad as some are making out. Let's see how he goes for the rest of the season.

Premiership coach with Adelaide. Must have something going for him.

Just read Wallsy's frank assessment of our team in the Age - Time for Dees' date night Has Sylvia as finished. What did other posters think of his ratings. Interesting that big Max Gawn didn't even rate a mention. Your thoughts please.
-
Sorry 'rjay', thought Rodan was pretty good myself. He is willing to crash into packs and win the hard ball just like Jonesy. Did some quick, creative handballs to advantage.
-
Likewise SYLVIA.
-
Harsh on Magner. Hardly had the chance to step up with such limited opportunities.
