Josh Wagner promoted with 2-year contract
Bobby McKenzie replied to Ditcha's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wagner shows huge potential. Good move by MFC. Congrats to Josh. -
No he is in the top bracket. He has already shown himself to be a rising super star. He's no middle the road player.
-
I am confident Stretch, Salem, Bugg, AVB, Harmes and Wagner will make big rises and further strengthen our team.
-
So we have Dom playing on the left wing and the right at the same time? I know he is good but is he that clever?
-
You mean Dom Tyson Twice?
-
THE AD FOR demon shop displays 4 DEMONS. The two guys on the outside are Tyson and whom? Gee they look so alike. Anyone know who the other player is?
-
I absolutely marvelled that long accurate pass to Tyson. A good example of Jack's kicking skills. The other great one was when surrounded in a pack he managed a clever kick to allow Dom to score a vital goal.

I have just re watched the last 5 minutes of our 2014 game against Essendon. The one we won by one point with Salem kicking the match winner, Boy, with a minute to go all looked lost until an amazing burst of precise handballing and kicking. Jordie McKenzie was right in it being involved twice. Lucky for us the umpires didn't pay an obvious free to Frawley because that would have stagnated our attacking flow and Salem's goal would most likely not happened. Would this piece of teamwork involving at least 9 players go down as one of our greatest movement of the footy? I have not seen better. How about others?

If Weiderman gets number 31 his Grandfather Murray, would be bemused as Barassi's arch enemy in the old times. . -

Wow! Firstly a Cordner and then a Mithen! Old timers will remember those two names. Our womens team has picked up two big names of the MFC. -
The Cordner dynasty continues with Harriet Cordner
Bobby McKenzie replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in AFLW Melbourne Demons
Gee, Have a look at the close up portrait of Harriet Cordner on the MFC website and seek out a photo (close up of her grandfather Don). What a striking resemblance. -

Great news indeed. Jesse has a belief and so do I that our young stars in the making will deliver the goods. All my Perth mates have been telling me for months that Hogan was a dead cert to be a player for either Eagles or Freo. Can't wait to see them at the North Beach tennis Club this arvo. All we need now is for Wattsy to re-sign. Come on Jack we need you. -
Will they do a Leicester next season?
-
I believe the push in the back rule has disappeared. How many times do we see players being tackled from behind, carried forward and being flattened with the tackler lying on top. Umpire usually makes a weak ball up decision.

For years I have been sorry for the Doggies. I always hoped that GWS wouldn't win a flag before the Doggies who have been in the queue for so long. Now I am as jealous hell! I firmly believe we have a better list individually but we cannot at the moment match their teamwork and overwhelming desire to win. Congratulations to them. They truly deserved it. Their success though must give us hope for the future.

Well done WJ. As a Frankston boy I have signed up. Let's hope quite a few from our forum will sign too. Come on guys and girls !
-
Very sad indeed. How he enjoyed his sport. He played cricket hard but always had a smile on his face. Pity some of our sour faced test cricketers couldn't follow suit! Must be something in the name Max. Our Gawny is very similar to Tangles in his outlook.
-
What amused me was the 'great' Nic Nat scoring just one vote. I know he only played 12 games but 1 vote! Jack Watts is clearly a real footballer and we chose well.
-
I too am a Frankston boy having lived there happily for the first 35 years of my life. I remember well watching Frankston (the bombers) playing in the then Mornington Peninsula Competition. Watched the great John Coleman playing for Hastings and future Demon Ralph Lane doing a good job against him. Yes, it is sad that a footy club goes under. but It is hard to survive when you have no AFL affiliation.

No depth eh? Silly comment. We finished on top of the ladder and had more depth than all the other AFL clubs except Footscray today. And we couldn't play regular senior players like Jong and a couple of others. Would have been good to have been allowed to play Max Gawn and Jack Viney. We have depth, no worries. We just couldn't handle the Bulldogs today.
