CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
Indeed. If Lockhart needs a rest I'd go with Rivers. In place of TMac I'd like to see us play Jackson who may be too mobile for their ageing backline. I think it would be a mistake to go for Brown who is exactly the sort of Forward their backs are used to dealing with.

POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Gold Coast
Just home from the game. A very small crowd but it had a big voice! I have lost mine. A special mention to Umpire 20, probably the second best for the Suns after Rankine. His calls on Langdon were what i will call politely "surprising". From my perspective the holding the ball calls were just impossible to understand. The Suns had a handful of unbelievable goals and were gifted a couple. We were the better side on the night. What you probably didn't see on TV was how hard Langdon worked to get to position and create options that were often not taken. Max and viney were immense. Just brilliant being there with a crowd that was just Dees supporters. A big thank you to the club.

No idea, on the telecast of Cats v lions it looked like quite a few. I'd be equally disappointed if MFC members here missed out. I watch every week with a mate and he got tickets as well. Very easy to slip back with this virus.

Totally understand the sentiment. MFCSS kicking in, now expecting NSW Govt to ban crowds or something.

I invite Ron B to post: "well that escalated quickly".

Dee-sappointment Article Nails It
It is very strange we have not changed the game plan. I once spoke with a very senior IBM executive, they had lots of plans including individual ones but whilst the organisation insisted on the planning process and tried to execute the plans everyone realised they would be very different by the end of the financial year. To adopt an overused word, our coaching group does not appear agile enough.

May be all sorts of reasons we dont know about, in any event its done and now unlikely it can be changed in any time less than 2 weeks of complete isolation.

Interesting article. "Let’s be honest – they aren’t winning the flag or likely even playing finals this year. Why not send Tomlinson forward for a handful of games and see if he can have an impact? There’s little to be lost, much to be gained." Really a good thought if we are struggling at the moment. I have growing concern that Goodwin and Co get so committed to something they aren't prepared to try a circuit breaker (especially mid game), it might not be part of the long term plan but may just work to break a cycle. This is important when other teams think they have us figured out and have to deal with something they weren't expecting.

Probably means the Govt is not lifting the crowd size it has allowed to date which is about 400 to 500, halve that for GWS, and you have about 200 slots. Probably 500 members in NSW so objectively the odds are pretty good. Apply MFCSS and it looks grim.

Demons NSW Hub
I contacted the club this morning and NSW members will get an email once the AFL has sorted out the attendance process. The government is allowing crowds of up to 10K I think. Its a small ground (spectator wise) but actually pretty good for spectators. It has locally run food outlets and a bit of a country ground feel given its size and very easy to get to if there is nothing else on in the olympic precinct.

Looks like Manly oval, a cricket ground just behind their hotel. I think its used by a rugby team in the Shute shield. Much better option albeit with no posts. Sounds like our management have complained. GIants stadium under lights a good option, anyone know what time?

Yes, if you were on holiday. It is true that Sydney is under resourced for suitable grounds but it seems we get the short stick. Hawks in Coogee get a 25 min drive to Drummoyne oval whilst the distance to Bankstown from Coogee is 28 km ( 35 mins). Manly to Drummoyne would be 35 mins. A fair outcome. However we get the 50 km trip which will take at least an hour. Anyway I get the point which is well made Lucifer, its all misplaced anger over a perceived slight on the club. (It would be much easier for me to get to Drummoyne.)

I was thinking of it but Bankstown in Sydney traffic is not easy and I dont have to cross the Harbour to do it. Manly to Bankstown is a total joke and would be like asking us to stay on the Gold Coast but train in Brisbane. The AFL must really hate us when they give the Hawks a ground that is easy to access. As Little Goffy notes the first bit of the drive is a nightmare followed by some of the busiest freeways in Sydney and the traffic around the exits to Bankstown can be diabolical.

Indeed, however its not often we get to see them here so i may try and see what training they do attempt. There are not many decent AFL grounds they could use near Manly, possibly middle head.

Anyone know where they will train? Manly oval?

Steven May, Time for a change?
Not sure this is the answer but applaud the the idea given Goodwin not capable of coming up with any. Why didnt we put Oliver or Trac forward of the ball at least for a while yesterday? Oliver would benefit from experiencing the frustration of poor delivery first hand. I'd prefer we gave Weid a go. Perhaps if we are thinking of May forward and Tmac can come back to get some confidence again although I think his problem is both delivery and lack of support.
