POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs Carlton
Kudos all those players who turned out for Max and TMac. Just shows the esteem they are held in by their peers. So glad we had a win for the ages in their milestone game.

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs Fremantle
Voss should not just have been fined for his childish hair rubbing etc but also for his unnecessary and potentially dangerous lift of Lingers. I cant believe the reaction of most commentators who seem to think it was ok to manhandle him in that way. At one point Lingers head and most of his body was pointing headfirst towards the ground, a slip in the oaf's hold and we have a serious neck injury. In my view that action should have been met with a far more serious sanction.

POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs St. Kilda
Well said. I think the Saints are a mid tier (or higher) team which make the win so much better especially when its clear it was very much a first hit for probably a majority of our team. Quite a few players will improve on their outings yesterday. We should get better. It was a very entertaining game to watch and we looked composed. So great to see how much Roo enjoyed himself. And MAX. In a league of his own.

PREGAME: Rd 01 vs St. Kilda
As a slightly more mature dees supporter I am amazed at the recovery time for some broken bones.

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs North Melbourne
Skimmed the thread but have to agree Kingy Ball looks good. I think from a strictly football perspective both Clarry and Trac are not suited to the plan. Steele brings a different dimension, but based on the first hit out is a win for us. Really unbelievable we got him the way we did. Clarry and Trac will do well in their new teams but we now have a different plan which doesn't rely on their skills. On JVR I have to say he is a different player this year (thankfully he wont ruck!) as he seemed to put in some very hard yards up and back, one effort in the 3rd (?) saw him run about 100 from one wing to the opposing flank then battled for the ball to deliver it front and center. Outstanding effort. As for the Kossie and Trelly.... to quote BT woweee. That was fun to watch.

PREGAME: Practice Match vs North Melbourne
I love that this topic includes a discussion on chairs. Shame you cant bring a ute into the ground for the chairs. I am hopeful it will now descend into a discussion on snakes. I assume North know how to get to Casey and that they have to bring the oranges.

MATCH SIM: Friday 6th February 2026
I am confused Max kicks a regulation, Jeffo and Roo looking like forwards..... What exactly were you hoping for?

PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 5th December 2025
Lingers please, my partner and daughter are interested in his haircut (preferably lack thereof) and I am interested if he remains evergreen and swift.

Hassa Mann
I adored Hassa Mann as a kid and reading the above I can see that adoration was not misplaced. Fantastic choice for the presentation. I also loved him saying "welcome to my club".

Welcome to Demonland: Xavier Taylor
I wonder if the other clubs commented on the tatt when they spoke to him.....

Welcome to Demonland: Xavier Taylor
I had the same thought. He will not die wondering. And in lieu of any actual knowledge about his abilities, he looks like he will be a standout selection. I get the feeling JT probably leapt out of his seat when he fell to us.

Welcome to Demonland: Latrelle Sumner-Pickett
Exactly the type of player we need to take the pressure of our developing forwards. I love the selection and the clever way the club stole the night.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
With good planning you should know what you are getting for Xmas to avoid the present they liked but..... Surely Roy Boy you send Santa a note or a hint! And whilst we are on the Christmas theme I thought it had come early when I saw 7 and 8 will get their jumpers from Hassa Mann! ( brought back some great memories.)

Wildcard Round
I am old enough to remember the final four and for years now we have had a de facto final four, serious contenders know that's where you have to finish. Sure we have had some gallant exceptions. It would be interesting to see the average points difference between 7th and 10th. The idea we get to 7th by winning 3 more games than 10th but could lose to that team would be a bitter pill. It just seems so unlikely a team will progress from 10th for it to be a real opportunity and more like a reality TV show option. What's next in the drive for ratings, do they bring back a fan favourite team mid finals as a surprise, perhaps through a second chance café like masterchef? Or even an all-stars final series.

2026 Pre-Season Ladder Predictions
Apart from the Swans top 4 this seem pretty right to me. I just don't know about the dogs with their leaky defence an issue. I am convinced we will do better than last year. Also feel the Hawks will struggle but remain in the 8.

Dawn of a new Era - Paul Guerra article 18.10.2025
I am completely unsurprised by the May discussion. He may go off the rails at times but is honest with himself. Wants to compete and will do what it takes for the team. I am very glad is remained at the club as I think he will personally connect with King. He knows it gets hard from here but he seems determined to contribute by setting up our new defence.

Realistic 23 for 2026
JVR has to be delighted that we have checkers and the extended bench which will allow us to develop Heath. I remain very optimistic he will flourish.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Don't we want the F1 for Humphry next year.

Grading the Trade Week
Grading is pretty dumb until you see the results but how do you give GWS an A for effectively doing nothing? No competition and we were giving him away. As for St Kilda lets rerate it in about round 8 next year.

Bailey Humphrey
Unusually saw Nine news tonight and TM segment, no mention of Petracca deal at all which I thought was strange given it was a round up of the deals that have to be done by close.
