  1. 1) I disagree the team would 'get ahead of themselves' if they were planning for North and St Kilda at the 'G. We might have to agree to disagree here. 2) I like winning, and I think we would be a better chance if we were playing at home.
  2. Okay, I'll retract. Silver.
  3. We've beaten Adelaide (home), Brisbane (home) and Gold Coast (away). The latter are quite terrible, so this just shows we're not a wooden spooner this year. Adelaide is a better scalp, but they're stuggling and it was at the 'G (however, we did smash Adelaide). We've drawn with Sydney (here). I think that's a decent result, but perhaps doesn't mean we definitely 'deserve' a top eight berth at the moment. We've lost to Hawthorn and WCE (away). I expected a loss to Hawthorn. WCE away is a maybe at best, so I'm not sure you can say that this means we don't deserve a top eight berth (however, we did get smashed by WCE). Do we deserve top eight based on that? We're around the mark, anyway. The next month or so is interesting - a shame the next two games are at Etihad.
  4. Just when our injury list was starting to look pretty nice. I especially hope Grimes is back soon.
  5. I liked the fact that when we won the footy at half-back or through the middle we actually had some targets further afield. I'm not sure whether that was a change of tactics or whether our forwards simply did better at not getting sucked up the ground. I also thought we used the corridor more, but perhaps we just found it easier to do so versus Adelaide.
  6. Indeed. We had about 10% more than I expected. It's funny you mention the stockmarket, because every week I come on Demonland and read many posters who have flipped and flopped their positions on all manner of things based on the most recent game. I always wonder whether they approach other facets of their life - including the stockmarket - in the same way.
  7. +1 If we didn't have anyone else to kick goals I'd say there might be some merit in getting Fev in order to give Casey some structure and make it easier for our developing forwards, but we're going to have guys like Newton, Martin, Petterd, Bate, Dunn and even Spencer up forward in addition to Howe, Cook, Fitz, etc.
  8. Artie's post on Bate reflects my thoughts on him. Bate isn't in my best 22. I think many Demonlanders disagree with you on this.
  9. I'd rather we not play on Mother's Day. Whatever you do re: promotion, there are plenty of people who will decide that attending the footy isn't their highest priority on Mother's Day.
  10. Bate was poor. I'd like to bring in someone as a second ruck and would consider Newton, who was our emergency today. Joel MacDonald is a like-for-like replacement for Grimes if we want to replace Grimes the defender, but we might want to rejig our side and bring in a different type of player. May I humbly suggest that we got spanked at Etihad last year because we couldn't generate any drive from our backline, moving the ball far too slowly when we tried to switch play? (It's a rhetorical question, but feel free to comment on the substance).
  11. There were too many! I did like Trengove riding the bump and dishing off, while Tapscott's long goal was great. However, Sylvia kicking his second goal of the quarter was probably my favourite moment. Watts had some opportunities to create my favourite moment but couldn't get the job done - he's a 'nearly' man at the moment. I'm not sure about this bit. I liked that, yeah.
  12. I can't believe our captain wasn't on TV this week. It's a disgrace. I bet he was at home, eating a pie AND CHIPS (with his ex-teammate Simon Buckley). If we lose next match it'll be because he couldn't be bothered fronting up on TV this week.
  13. What 'uncomfortable legal compllications akin to fraud'..?
  14. Reading the player review from Casey's Coach it's clear that this has had an impact on us, and one that I think is negative. Newton had kicked 11 goals in two weeks and yet was forced to play further up the ground, while Gawn only got 50% game time.
  15. Yeah, it must be because the fans 'scream' when they're struggling. I mean, it works at Richmond.
  16. Did you see Collingwood '11 or Geelong '10 do this?
  17. Way too harsh. I could understand if you said 'pie and chips', though.
  18. If the team is struggling, is that all DB and no CC? Why do we need Melbourne people? (I reckon at least some of the people who want Melbourne people coaching also talk about the loss Wellman was).
  19. Exactly. Like I said in the thread about Green appearing on a footy show, Jones should be training 24/7, barring the hospital and school visits. Taking a minute or two out of the day to tweet? A DISGRACE.
