  1. Agreed Jaded, his best game for a while, I said the same to Big Red. When you look at it though, Essendon played to his strengths, bombed the ball in and he was able to be third man up or stationary one on one. Unfortunately Jared cannot handle a leading forward. He wont enjoy playing on Cloke and Dawes.
  2. You should have gone yesterday when the game was played.
  3. They are not pink in real life, only on TV.
  4. And a piece from Caro - http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/the-man-for-the-job-20110506-1ec8q.html
  5. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/judgment-day-dees-20110506-1ec8p.html He writes some very good stuff
  6. And one of Bailey's mentors
  7. At least 5 MFC players will come out of that squad
  8. I wish Daniel all the best in his recovery.
  9. It will good to have him in the team against West Coast, but I just want the club to make sure he has recovered completely. It appears he came back to early to play against Brisbane pre-season. If you have a quiet suspicion, keep it that way (keep it quiet).
  10. Ins: Melbourne: Warnock, Frawley & Spencer Hawthorn: Ellis, Guerra & Hodge
  11. A couple of serves of humble pie for "Roost It" please. Make them very large serves please.
  12. Live out on the ground they were Red, on the M.C.G. Scoreboard screen they were Red, on the Sharp TVs near where I was sitting they were pinkish.
  13. Sounds like someone just got their MFC jumper out of the drawer and realised there was a Number 32 on it.
  14. I don't think you have seen him play then. Played HBF for Casey last week and I don't think he got beaten one on one. He can kick long or short, both with precision. See if you can get hold of the Vic Metro V S.A. U18s when he played. Good luck Tappy.
  15. Pretty sure it was the reason he missed the U18's Grand Final
  16. Apart from the helmet Kyle Matthews against Frankston, was no different to Kyle Matthews before he was king hit. He hit the contests just as hard as he ever has. Would have to be one of the gutsiest players I have ever watched, even more so with what he has been through this past year.
  17. Been out with Garland I reckon
  18. Bailey said "we missed Jetta's tackling", so I assume he didn't play.
  19. These we know - GOALS Melbourne: Maric 3, Jurrah 2, Jamar, Green, Moloney, Scully, Davey, Petterd, Bate BEST Melbourne: Maric, Davey, Grimes, Scully And Bailey mentioned Kelvin Lawrence
  20. Here is the squad that was given for Friday nights game. Could someone who was there indicate who actually played please? 1. Matthew Warnock 2. Nathan Jones 3. Clint Bartram 4. Jack Watts 5. Jordan Gysberts 6. Matthew Bate 7. Jamie Bennell 12. Colin Sylvia 14. Lynden Dunn 15. Ricky Petterd 16. Jack Grimes 18. Brad Green 19. Addam Maric 20. Colin Garland 22. Brent Moloney 24. Liam Jurrah 27. Jared Rivers 28. Joel MacDonald 31. Tom Scully 34. Stefan Martin 35. Luke Tapscott 36. Aaron Davey 38. Jeremy Howe 39. Neville Jetta 40. Mark Jamar 42. Jake Spencer 44. Rohan Bail 45. Kelvin Lawrence 47. James Strauss
  21. At the end of last season the only reason I wanted to keep Newts was for the relief ruckman/forward role. The only issue I have with his promotion/nomination is that he hasn't played at all this pre-season and wont be ready for another few weeks, so then a few games to get him match fit and he probably isn't good to go until round 8. I would still go with Evans at this stage. If I had the choice and there was not a Tuesday deadline, I wouldn't nominate anyone yet, and just sit back and see how players perform with Casey.
  22. I have to concede after the Adelaide NAB cup game that Tommy Mac hasn't got it, so I wouldn't be nominating him. We have to nominate on Tuesday not knowing how Lawrence went last night I would go with Evans, I see him as someone who could play the Bartram role if needed.
  23. Essendon wore their clash jumper (a farce that it is) wider red sash. IMO makes it look even more like our jumper. I would have rather gone with our white jumper, even if New Balance haven't got the red correct yet.
  24. I concur. Wish we had worn the Clash jumper the other night though, it was very obvious that our players mistook Essendon players for our own.
  25. Yeah, fair enough, we have had so much sucess the last three years we can just coast along and do things at half pace. That was one of the issues, Essendon were desperate, we were not.
