  1. For Casey I would be hoping for someone that wants to use it as a stepping stone to an AFL gig, we do need a strong presence at Casey though to ensure our players there are playing a similar style as Melbourne does. Happy with Royal as our midfield coach. It was a little disturbing the way Grant Thomas was so dismissive of Harvey as a coaching possibility at the Saints.
  2. I concur.
  3. I suggest you have already made your mind up no matter what anyone here says. I see him as a Tyrone Vickery type (but better) in the making.
  4. Condolences to his family and friends, seemed to be a true gentleman.
  5. Roast lunch at Big Reds place with his future parents in law Jack Oakleighs coach Greg Doyle did play for us as well.
  6. It is a disgrace that there is no telecast of the game. It was bad enough when it was played at 8:30ish on Grand Final day and you missed the first quarter because of the North Melbourne GF breakfast. Foxtel have been televising it in recent years but nothing this year.
  7. Good job. Last year the club website had all the main speeches on it.
  8. Jack, I keep telling you, sarcasm isn't understood here by most.
  9. I concur
  10. During the week he was listed on the injury report as - Season
  11. Trying to remember when
  12. Thanks very much RudeBoy. Wish him the best of luck with his recovery. By the way I bought the book, it was a very good read, and just shows how far Liam has had to come.
  13. Melbourne was John Northey's first AFL coaching gig.
  14. Darling has been very good, but look at the big bodied support he gets on the West Coast forward line - Kennedy, Lynch and then throw in Nic Nat and Big Cox when resting down there. He is often matched up on a smaller, lighter defender, in our forward line he would attract a Glass or Rutten type. Darling is already physically mature, Cook isn't. As with all drafting comparisons you need to wait a few seasons to see how the players develop.
  15. Do you think this may have been the reason the MFC didn't want Casey to recruit Fev? Less opportunities for our developing forwards.
  16. Join them then
  17. It would have been premature promotion in that case. He looked good against Collingwood.
  18. Silvia has been lazy IMO. It will be interesting where Todd plays Tapscott, Davey, Green, Bate, Dunn, Strauss & Martin/Gawn (when not rucking).
  19. Is worth considering
  20. Thanks very much
  21. I concur. Cale ran back with the flight of the ball to attempt a mark, in exactly the same way when he hurt his knee at Visy Park. People don't give him credit, he is obviously going harder at the ball since he has been back in the team.
  22. I think that is one of the issues. We clear out the forward line, problem is the players forget to go back there when we have the ball, then we do what the crowd calls for "Kick it long" but wait nobody is home. The old saying "The light is on but nobody is home" doesn't even apply, cos there aint no light either. I would like to see us at least keep Jurrah or Howe in the forward 50 all day, so there is always at least one marking option in there at all times. Wont happen though.
  23. I concur
