Unless the whole idea was to get players who were under contract off our list without having to pay them out.
-
Thanks Rudeboy. I wish Liam all the best for the future, he will be sadly missed.
-
Kurt Tippett - 3 concussions in 5 weeks, if Adelaide were being cautious then maybe he would not have had the other 2 so close together.
-
No Josh Tynan again, are we the only club that takes extreme care with concussion victims? Not a criticism.
-
A bit of a dogs act by McPharlin in a marking contest put Jamie off balance while he was in the air and his knee buckled as he landed.
-
Quite a bit.
-
I concur.

I thought Jai was poor against Collingwood and nearly lost the game several times in the last quarter, and disappointing last week against Sandy, so I am not all that surprised he was in the early game.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY
Big Kev replied to einstein251's topic in Melbourne Demons
F-S picks are sorted out before trading starts. From Wikipedia - In 2007 the AFL made an important amendment for the father-son rule, establishing a bidding system to determine which draft pick a club must give up to secure the potential recruit. The current system works as follows:[2][3][4] 1. Individual clubs are free to nominate potential father-son recruits within the eligibility guidelines below. 2. A meeting is held on the Monday before the start of trade week where clubs can bid for the nominated players. Each club has the option to bid, in reverse ladder order, for the nominated players. 3. If a bid is made, the club that nominated the father-son player must use its next available selection if it wishes to retain its hold on that player. If a club nominating the father-son player declines to match the selection nominated, the club with the successful bid must use that selection at the Draft to select the player. 4. Any club that makes a successful bid on a father-son selection must commit to pick the player they nominate. 5. If no bid is made by another club, the club that nominated the father-son eligible player will forfeit its last selection in the draft to select the player. For example in 2008 the Western Bulldogs had to use their 1st round selection, #14, to secure Ayce Cordy after St Kilda bid their 1st round selection for him. Ayce's father, Brian, played 124 games for the Bulldogs in the 1980s.[5] -
Aaron Davey was very good out of the middle and around the ground in the second quarter and was the main reason Casey built such a lead. After half time when he went off, Collingwood won around the packs and if it wasn't for a couple of very good clearances by Couch that resulted in goals probably would have overrun Casey. Josh Tynan (58) and Jordan Gysberts (68) were almost impossible to tell apart in packs even with binoculars.

He isn't listed in the record, but if he was number 54, he was one of Collingwoods better players, if not their best. According to The Age - Tom Sundberg was the best for the Pies.
-
Why would anyone listen to Aker? He is a waste of space.
-
I was just going to post on his selection. Very interested to see how he develops. There are spots in the team for strong marking forwards.
-
He is inclined to put in short steps occasionally. He has some good attributes and I thought being delisted was the kick in the bum he needed, but alas it doesn't seem to have, I couldn't see coaches like Neeld or Hardwick being big admirers for very long.

Casey Scorpions v Williamstown

What about you Jack, can't you make it either? -
Magnar wasn't promoted, he has been named our "nominated rookie" (allowed because we only have one veteran). Other promotions are due to LTIs and as above can be done anytime.

Thanks KC

This is one of the worst posts I have seen on this website. For a start Liam is injured (read on workcare for a wrist he broke playing for Melbourne) and should be on full payment of his contract anyway. If the club is happy for Liam to go home during this time when he is unavailable to play (read work) then I have no issue at all, I just hope Liam is able to sort his issues out quickly and return to the club, because I really enjoy watching him weave his magic. All the best Liam.

What do you mean "used to say"? I still say it.

Training - Wednesday 18th January, 2012 at Casey Fields

Thanks for the reports. -
No you don't have to cop all this extra cost, you can watch free to air the same as you have always been able to, you just wont see every game live, ad free siren to siren. Why not start a "To Foxtel or Not to Foxtel" thread and leave this one as a discussion on the content of the Fox Footy channel?
-
Nobody is holding a gun to anyone's head and forcing them to get Foxtel. If you don't want it, or don't think it is worth it then that is up to you. Thanks for coming on here and giving your input Rhett. One of the most disappointing things that I have ever watched on Foxtel was Kim Williams coming on saying that the Fox Footy channel was to cease. It was very good that one of the last things that Kim announced before leaving Foxtel was that Fox Footy was to be resurrected.
