  1. Because the dregs of society get together in a group, feed off each other's macho [censored] and are more often than not either [censored] off their face or coked to the eyeballs. I'm not denying that the culture of the game glorifies this stupidity in ways that other sports haven't (although there are many examples of mobs making violent idiots of themselves in other sports), but given that the majority of trouble worldwide happens either before or after games it's hardly consistent with people getting antsy and walloping somebody with a bucket because there hasn't been a goal for 20 minutes.
  2. Need a premiership bumper sticker to balance the 2021 one on the other side of the car.
  3. The idea that people punch on at soccer games because there's not enough scoring could be the dumbest sporting theory ever floated.
  4. She is an absolute legend, but if you're being ruthless her cliff is rapidly approaching. Regardless, if she goes it's obviously for personal reasons so would be hard to begrudge her after years of quality service.
  5. Letting people buy 10 tickets at a time for a severely limited capacity venue would be the biggest extraction of pi$$ ever. I did it about a minute in and got GA ticket #18 so either there was a fair rush on in the next few minutes or they're going to discover a few tickets after getting the positive publicity for selling out quickly.
  6. Impulse bought a flight at the final siren. Never been more worried about 'venue subject to change'.
  7. The way the AFL runs this competition there's something appropriate about playing the Grand Final at a local park.
  8. If the lab clones him do we automatically get Petracca V2 or does he go into the draft?
  9. Incredible preview image on the video.
  10. 51 weeks a year people treat Robbo like the guy who runs the ferris wheel at a local fair, then his top players list come out and there's genuine surprise that he's got NFI.
  11. Always a highlight on the football calendar.
  12. The centre clearance and kick to Hore for the second goal were superb. I already knew getting Harris and Birch from other clubs on the cheap was great business but Purcell has been fantastic.
  13. That was a wild ride in the middle of some of the worst teams we've ever put out. All these years later, the highlights video with Alan Partridge commentary is still gold.
  14. No issue if he arrives for nothing, gets paid KFC wages, and is happy to sit behind the 'break in case of emergency' glass at Casey.
  15. At least we had the manners to pay pick 2 for Jeff White* * and rort the salary cap to fit him in.
  16. I like Bedford but it's a fact of life that somebody's going to fall off the edge of good sides. Usually they go to a rotten side and do nothing, but at least he'll get to play every week and prove it one way or the other.
  17. Hogan, Preuss and Bedford would be one of the most random collections of ex-MFC players ever.
  18. Did they leave him sitting on the sidelines in a tracksuit?
  19. Can confidently say nothing better happened to me in the next 365 days.
  20. Tempting to lay the boots into other clubs but I'd be surprised if every club in the league didn't have skeletons in the closet. Even if you take race out of the story, how many other young players have had similar experiences after being drafted?
  21. Best of luck to Hird if he wants to coach again, but could there be a worse place to do it? Either go for the redemption story at GWS where nobody knows who he is in the street OR come back to Victoria like the messiah (despite not having done much the first time around), have people yelling at you about drugs whenever you go into the supermarket, and be caught in a civil war in a few years where 25% of the fans want to sack him and the other 75% would kill to save him. Anyone who encourages him to take the Essendon job is a goose.
  22. Booing is for the underclasses. Use your words. As for Jackson, I don't like it but at least he didn't fake agony about the decision like some others. Hope he has an injury free, profitable, and reasonably average career in an ordinary side.
  23. One day I'll rate it above about 90% of the other seasons in my lifetime. For now it feels like a massive waste.
