  1. Brown came back into the side last year off the back of a half-pace VFL outing and played a key role for the rest of the year. Must come back in immediately.
  2. It wasn't pretty but neither were most of our home and away wins last year and that turned out ok.
  3. How much for an NFT of this?
  4. Appropriately, that Friday night game dropped us to 0-3. Would be nice to repay the favour. Also lol @ 2020 being a dead rubber game for us when we had to win to stay in the finals race.
  5. Finally, my opportunity to go on a forum and complain about the nanny state.
  6. Watching on a phone I rarely have any issues staying in one place, but if I'm walking outside it will often pause and put up the 'something's gone wrong' message.
  7. In a Truman Show style prank the producers would never have let us win. Best storyline would have been to come back from the dead then blow the three quarter time lead. For this reason I'm almost certain that it actually happened and I'm not being strung along in an elaborate scam.
  8. This was disappointing, I don't need to rub it in by seeing Bevo have a miserable one but it would have been interesting to hear his comments as the game slipped away. They must have had some say over what went in the final product (or he ripped the microphone out), because I can't believe he didn't say anything interesting during the Mad Minute.
  9. If you just want to read them they're on microfilm at State Library. Buying not so easy.
  10. Surely Tasmanians won't seriously accept a reheated team from interstate. Not saying I want it to happen, but they could artificially boost Gold Coast's prospects by merging them with St Kilda or North, creating the space for a fresh team
  11. Imagine the carnage when the opening game of the season is the first time new rules are dramatically overpoliced. 70,000 people will go bonkers.
  12. Baby got backline
  13. There is a new stairway down to ground level from the railway side. Presumably the idea is to allow people to cross to the Docklands side without having to battle through traffic coming the other way towards Southern Cross. Still doesn't do much for the crush on the bridge, which is a disaster ready to happen. When something really bad happens they'll look back and wonder if the money wouldn't have been better spent on moving people safely than giving us the chance to see terrible 'entertainment' in 900K HD.
  14. Any suggestion of divisions in the men's game is laughable because it would drive second rate teams to the wall, but given that AFLW teams are subsidised and they're hell bent on expanding to 18 teams despite having the available depth of a fish pond, there must be an argument for two divisions of nine. * Teams get competition at their own level * Added promotion/relegation excitement instead of dead rubbers galore * Semi-pro players perhaps less likely to run straight towards a top flight team the moment their first contract expires * Bye weeks offer a break to players who are often putting their real lives on hold to participate Adding four new teams is laughable. If anything they should have less, the best players in the comp are very good but there are some dreadful/nowhere near ready players being gifted games at the bottom end just to make up the numbers. On the topic of changing the season dates, what about playing it straight after the men finish - then you can season new draftees in the state league for a year before they play AFLW. Even if the first couple of rounds lack buzz due to people being burnt out after the men's comp, it would land the end of the season and finals right around the point where people are getting jittery to watch footy again. Realistically - nothing will change, the AFL don't really care. If they knew it was going to get them good publicity they'd expand to Fitzroy, University, South Melbourne and the Brisbane Bears as well.
  15. Gerard Healy, Scully and Scott Thompson then play them at Casey. (Turns out the flag didn't do as much for forgiveness as I thought...)
  16. I'd go for this + Petrevski for Parry.
  17. Interstate teams came along.
  18. There will be one nuffy in the middle who complains about something ridiculously minor that only they're interested in.
  19. I reckon he's confusing half-hearted talks with North and the potential Fitzroy merger in 1986. Age 26/06/1986 Age 05/08/1986
  20. This was a hard one, I didn't feel anyone was outstanding so about 10 players could have snuck in for a vote. 5 - Hanks 4 - Harris 3 - Paxman 2 - Lampard 1 - Pearce
  21. Still haven't come to terms with singular glory, I might end up in traction if we start repeating.
  22. Anyone know if the top-up player Zanchetta in the emergencies was the ex-Brisbane player Jordan?
  23. I don't expect him to remember everything about his career but I will 100% stake everything I own on him playing for Casey that day. Firstly I was there and saw him play, secondly Tom McDonald was walking the boundary in the breaks of the seconds so I suspect he was the emergency, and most importantly Max was named in the best players!
  24. Gawn played in the seconds. They lost by 130 points. What a red-letter day for the organisation. As of 25/09/2021 I was over it.
  25. Like all the other awful things that have happened to us in my supporting life that game no longer haunts me. Still can't be comfortable unless we're that far in front at three quarter time. P.S - It almost got a new version in 2013 when we were 38 points up 15 minutes into the last quarter against the Dogs and fell over the line by three points. Would have been the Jeremy Howe line, which is also the statistic for screamers followed immediately by turnovers. P.P.S - Enjoy the memories
