  1. cant you read i said 'sidelined until closure has occurred' not 'sacked immediately'
  2. kidding yourself it is not a good look to have someone running around for your club with those sort of charges hanging over them, and its putting the individual under immense pressure. I would not expect him to be in red hot form anyway given the circumstances. they will be keeping him on the sidelines until some closure has occured, and rightfully so
  3. surely LJ's 4 weeks is garbage - they can't put down to 'indefinite club suspension pending criminal conviction' the fact that the Sylvia omission is club-imposed, it means we esssentially have a full-strength side for round 1 of the season, it has been a long while since that has happened. Props to David Mission?
  4. come on.. if it didn't happen to be a rare occurence of a new side entering the comp he would have remained retired. Goes down as one of the all time great demons in my experience of following the club, but would be of little value for where we are currently at
  5. fantastic post, agree 100% don't be put-off by those here that want to shoot the messenger. I for one read through these reports rolling my eyes until I came to yours and realised I was reading an honest one
  6. yeah but he was at the game, you just read a match report I know exactly what he means by MFC supporters being too easily impressed, it's one of the main reasons we haven't been near contenders for a decade
  7. seems to me that for every ladder spot we climb, they add another team
  8. 2 years ago I has us pinned for 'the magnificent seven' in Watts, Scully, Jurrah, Trengove, Frawley, McKenzie and Morton in my mind, these were going to be the all-australians in our premiership side in about 2014 aiding them of course would have been another 20 solid footballers.. jones, gysberts, bennell, etc it appears now that at least 3 of my 'elite' 7 are write-offs and that we would be lucky to find 5, not 20, solid players amongst the rest there are perfectly good reasons why we have about 3 star footballers in the last 20 years at this club, and NONE of them have anything to do with names being read out on draft night - it's about what happens once they are on our list. I think you all know deep down that Watts and Morton wouldnt be travelling the way they are now if they had gone to the eagles, hawks or pies.
  9. ffs that's a guy that made 155 million playing ball and somehow lost it all obviously a genius
  10. the only reason i am still listening is that it would be an absolute joy to hear these muppets cry if we happened to pinch this
  11. this is honest to god the worst commentary ive ever heard in my life unlistenable
  12. thanks that works http://www.afl.com.au/tabid/18551/Default.aspx#fixtureid=7896&tab=Radio
  13. agree totally with that if I was in Sylvia's position I would insist
  14. Cam I have always been a huge fan of yours, both for your undoubted professionalism and your undoubted passion. It is clear that you have been a major lynchpin in ensuring that this club is still surviving. I think it is admirable not only that you look here to gauge our views, but in times when it is warranted you address us specifically. For what it's worth, even though there are some (including myself) that express themselves somewhat over-vigourously at times, the general feel of what is said around here accurately reflects that of what I hear from Dees fans I know, those I talk to at games, and bump into on the street/pub. I think it is wise of you refer here for insight and I wonder how many in corresponding positions at other clubs have the wisdom to do similar. When we eventually hold that cup, I will take great pleasure in what it must mean for you personally. Thank you.
  15. you mean top4 draft pick another one is at GWS
  16. terrible call. He is the biggest weapon in the league, he is utterly unstoppable
  17. you forgot losing Scully and now Jurrah going gangbusters
  18. another year, another coach, same old pack of peahearts that seem to lack even the most basic skills and knowledge of the game. Our infinite hell of embarassment and humiliation continues. I don't suppose anybody is going to talk about Bate and how he has 'reinvented himself as a midfielder' this week fantastic week to be a demon
  19. regardless of what he did or didn't do, and whether or not he gets in trouble for it, you'd have to think his footy career is over. Clearly the bloke has higher priorities if he's engaged in actual physical war in central australia when he first came to the club many said it would be a miracle if he made it as a player, well looks like we didn't get such a miracle fantastic advertisement for the already-malinged indigenous people of this country too
  20. disagree your 18th-22nd players and how they stack up to the other mob's 18-22nd is equally important IMO. This is a lesson I have learned by wathing a lot of very, very ordinary players occupy these spots for us and their opponents absolutely toweling them. The biggest example for mine is how often we have lost the match because we had nobody to contain the monster forward of the other side. If Ben Holland is named to play on Fevola you are cooked before the ball is bounced! however there are a few exceptions like Judd and Franklin, who can really influence a match and be the difference. Hopefully we have at least one of these types in our ranks
  21. that's what I was going to say, and there have been some absolute howlers over the years
  22. now's a good time for the OP to make his long-awaited second half of the draw poll :D
