  1. disappointed, but obviously a much better effort. Loved the passion they showed. Would have done them with Liam and Mitch up forward and Frawley down back, and Sylvia for the whole game. At the end of it it was obvious the difference between the winners and the losers was that the winners have a few genuine stars and we have none. We continue our endless wait for some of the young blokes to become these types of players. Agree on Watts and Trenners, pretty disappointing.
  2. 6 Rivers 5 Grimes 4 Bate 3 Magnerficent 2 Jones 1 Jordie mentions: bartram, bail, the macs, morton, davey
  3. Then there's Richmond. This year to be the 10th consecutive year missing the finals, a feat they have only managed twice in the last 30 years. Obviously with all those bottom finishes they have picked up Delidio, Cotchin, Martin, Riewoldt, Vickery etc but they are still shizen. Their sunrise has just never come, much like us.
  4. us by under 10 points is paying 12.00! got to be worth a flutter oh wait i forgot we're shizen
  5. we beat them in the NAB cup and we are bloody awful if only that footy had sat up for milne late in that drawn grand final, their window would have opened and oh-so-sweetly shut, but they pinched one
  6. well yeah that's what I said a week ago well if we were playing Carlton tomorrow I would be expecting an almighty flogging, put it that way. The mind boggles thinking how Judd and Murphy will destroy us, they are the champion midfielders you are supposed to draft and develop with picks in the top 3. They have a number of other stars all over the park as a result of their years in the doldrums, and are genuine flag contenders this year. Then there's us. With similar drafting gifts, albeit a couple of years behind, we have not been able to take advantage like they have. They got Kruezer in 2007 and we got Cale Morton who in his fifth year cannot even get a game in a truly ordinary side. There is no excuse for that, of course many simpletons here want to believe we picked the wrong bloke, even though it was widely recognised that he may have even been a no.1 pick that year as the top 5 was very strong - but Morton is at the wrong club, he would probably be running around dominating if the Blues had picked him instead of Kruezer. That is why we do not have one champion player on the list, it's because there is something wrong with our culture, our methods, our staff, I don't know what, it probably has a lot to do with money. The fact that Judd is their captain when he friggin barracked for us and could have gone anywhere is a fact that tells you everything you need to know about the big fish and little fish of modern footy. If anything exposes what a failure we are as a club it is the success of Carlton . and yes they started 2 years before us, but in 2009 they finished 7th and lost a final at the GABBA by 7 points. How far off that are we? Pretty blooody far
  7. you would have to be an absolute moron to think we have spent 48 years 'picking the wrong blokes' in all that time we've had Lyon, Stynes, Schwarz and Flower. I'd go a level down and add the likes of Viney, Neitz, Jako and McDonald. That's it. what are the odds of picking 99% duds Clearly this desert of quality is a problem with the process not the original product
  8. in 8 years when Viney and Stretch are in their prime we will be unstoppable
  9. they see him as their captain/franchise player and righfully so we'd have to move heaven and earth to get him, won't happen
  10. I just can't see where such a turnaround could possibly come from
  11. 74-3 Nice to know there is some insulation between us and another wooden spoon
  12. GWS trails North at quarter time 46-3 I hope Scully and Sheedy are enjoying it
  13. Something nobody has really mentioned is that straight of the bat Neeld has failed to deliver something he said he'd do - watching his presser last week he made it very clear that he was angry and that blokes were going to be dropped because of it. 'will the same 22 travel to Perth? Not on your life. Am I going to go down a similar road and continue to put blind faith in players? No way, absolutely no way. That's fair enough, that's not a threat, that's not anything other than being honest, and that's what the players were told.' He dropped ONE BLOKE. All the other changes were forced. I don't know how that is being honest and forthright, and I don't know how it is supposedly taking a no BS approach to what is expected of the players. There's a good 15 blokes who have put in two pathetic performances so far, if there aren't a bunch of changes this week how is that not 'blind faith' Bloody hell it is hard to imagine a new coach getting off to a worse start
  14. yep we are approaching 5 years since the sacking of Daniher and we are actually a worse football side now then we were then, despite getting 20 top-20 draft picks or whatever number it is. Absolutely staggering. At least in the Daniher years we got to think we were good 50% of the time, I would kill to be back in that sort of situation. Mediocrity would be bliss! Bring back Neale!
  15. no go ahead and substantiate your comment please. If you were at the game and saw the incident you must have seen that he marked the ball which completely explaing the selective footage that appears he is running away. so which is it mate did you see it or not? I'm not justifying Morton's current situation in any way but I have no idea why our own supporters would deliberately perpetuate a myth that is totally untrue, and undeservedly paint the player as a complete peaheart
  16. well it won't happen so don't get too excited I won't backtrap a step anyway. I felt pretty good after those pies games and belting Sydney and all that - but it means nothing if all you can do is pull one out of the bag every now and then, then go back to being putrid. If we got our stuff together and managed to win today my immediate thought would be 'now do it again next week and every week after that'
  17. are you stupid or a pathological liar? yes he did, it's not a matter of debate, it's a simple fact
  18. Don't forget we have Matthew 'reinvented himself as a midfielder' Bate - they will have their hands full stopping his certain domination at the stoppages
  19. we are paying 12.00! Downright embarrassing. how predictable is it that the eagles will slam on a bunch of unanswered goals early in the first. Happens every time we travel.
  20. That is another idiotic thing I am sick of hearing 'well I went to this school and if my employer offered more elsewhere' WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT YOU. WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT TEACHING. In any case, we did not get the big player, they did, because we are minnows.
  21. correct I cannot believe our own supporters still spout that stuff - HIS TEAMMATE HAD THE BALL AND HE STOPPED BUMPING CHESTS AND RAN TO POSITION AND MARKED THE BALL LIKE HE SHOULD HAVE That is what happened everybody. Stop retelling it differently. PLEASE.
