  1. I could not make this training/practice match. Please give us a report on what you found? Did Sylvia train?. Did Watts play at Full forward? please advise.
  2. I really do not care to much for forula's however logic or common sense tells me that 10 draftees for 2004/to 2007,would be worthy candidates for a future priemiership team. They being,Bate,Frawley,Garland,Warnock,Jones,Petterd?,Morton, Maric, Cheney, Wonaeamirri,Spencer. Then add our 2008/2009 picks and WOW- make up for priemership team.
  3. I agree with RR that basically no one wants him to fail-however I for one feel that he may not be quite ready for AFL standard right now. He has shown enough in his 3 games that he WILL make it. However, he needs to gain bulk, confidence and to be ready when his body says I am right. He will be a sensational footballer for us but we also have to remember he is ONLY 18 now.Furthermore, I have posted this statement many times- talls do not really reach there peak till mid to late 20's. Frawley has taken the best part of 3 years to develop so far but he is slightly more advanced for his age.Watts will reach his peak in say 4/ 6 years from now. However, we will play him this year after ,I think he plays well at Casey due to the late pre season due to studies and illness. He has really just stated training since Dec/Xmas.
  4. I believe we have the players to develop in this role as long as we can develop Spencer, Gawn & Fitzpatrick. Agree with other posters that their are strong question marks over PJ, Meeson and Martin as ruckman, but I feel Martin is worth keeping as an interchange for many positions. From what I have seen so far Gawn will be outstanding, the FD feel Spencer will develop as our main ruckman so I do not feel we have a need to go for another ruckman. I feel we need a tall forward- but Martin,Gawn or Fitzpatrick may fill this void. This year is going to tell of us a lot.
  5. Agree HT- but after season 2010 we will surely know where our football club stands.
  6. Benno- Try to get there mate, really worth it- you will leave you on a HIGH,I can assure you.GO DEES.
  7. TRAINING FOR THE 8TH FEB-has been changed to Casey due to the ground not being suitable. Still at 4pm.
  8. BELOW IS A TEAM I HAVE COMPILED FROM PLAYERS DRAFTED FROM TO 2004 Team in 2012 is: B: CHENEY(12 GAMES PLAYED) WARNOCK(38) GARLAND(20) HB: BENNELL(16) FRAWLEY(40) MacDONALD(0 MFC-82@BRISB) C: GRIMES(12) TRENGOVE(0) STRAUSS (0) HF: TAPSCOTT (0) WATTS (3) BATE(68) F: WONAEAMIRRI(18) FITZPATRICK(0) JURRAH(9) R: GAWN (0)McKENZIE(6) SCULLY(0) I: SPENCER(9) MORTON (40) BLEASE (0) GRYSBERTS(0) Average games played for MFC IS 285 DIVIDED BY 22 = 13 GAMES ONLY PLAYED together as a possibility.I realise not all of theabove will plat together but it does give an insight to the lack of experience. Therefore No wonder why Bailey says these players need to play a long innings together to gain experience as a team. EMERG: MARIC, JONES, McNAMARA,JETTA DUNN McKENZIE PETTERD VINEY, PLAYERS TO BE CONSIDERED ARE ALL DEBUTANTS IN 2003- RIVERS, MOLONEY & JAMAR or Sylvia whom was drafted in 2003,DEBUTED IN 2004,Davey rookie drafted in 2003,PLAYED 2003. I can see how the analysed picked the Dees to be tops during this period. Draft picks in 2004 were-- Bate, Dunn, Newton,rookie-Warnock 2005- Jones, Buckley, Neville 2006- Frawley,Petterd, Garland,Weetra, 2007- Morton,Maric,Cheney,McNamara- rookies- Wonaeamirri,Spencer,Vallenti 2008- Watts,Blease,Strauss,Bennell, Jetta,Bail, PSD- Jurrah rookies-McKenzie,Healey,Hughes. 2009- Scully, Trengove,Gysberts,Tapscott, Gawn, Fitzpatrick, PSD- MacDonald.Rookies- Newton &,Meeson To me not a bad draft selection over the years 2004 to 2009. If I have missed any let me know.
  9. This week especially the AGM & INFORMATION night was one of the most positive weeks I have had at this football club for many a day.To have this draft news, as positive as it is, is also great news.Whilst your comments are sound, I think we do not need the negative inflences such as your post at this time. Put it down to development.Let the football department do the talking and let us sit back and watch their progress. Then at the end of 2010- let us analyse.Give them a break at this time. Go dees-stick it up them!
  10. I think your comments are pertinant as well
  11. Melbourne analytics expert Stephen Gloury has developed a formula to assess the recent draft performances of each AFL club. His research suggests Melbourne, West Coast and North Melbourne, ranked No.1, 2 and 3 on his draft performance chart, have enjoyed good value for their picks as they head toward a premiership resurgence around 2012-14. Refer to http://www.heraldsun...225827457502for the full report.
  12. Big Kev--many thanks & sincerely appreciated for going to this trouble. I did not realise that so many great players had worn this jumper--no wonder the club has been in limbo to whom wears it now and in particular after 1997.
  13. Cameron Schwab on twitter says...Left #17 open. An important heritage number worn by some of the greatest Demons. Next jumper we will bring 'back to life'. The last person I recall was Chris Johnson whom wore this number in 2008. Therefore idol for two years.Furthermore to hold the jumper this long , as Schwab said..some of the greatest wore this number. I ask whom??
  14. Sleep tight my friend- he will be ok
  15. States on Casey's website thatthey have picked up Daniel Nicholls
  16. Well channel nine just showed Jimma in full flight also.sorry that I did not notice others there as well
  17. Sorry -forgot to mention Channel 9 was there last night.Maybe on the news service tonight.
  18. Well stated WJ- agree re Jimmy- WHAT A MAN- how lucky are we..just his charima demands us all to inspire to greatness. My highlight was that every one seemed to be talking as one - we are here to win a premiership and be a great club for not just a year or two but at least a decade.Furthermore agree re Max Gawn. When Jimma got him to compare height with himself , one could see what a tall man he is- but my God He has a great build already and he has just turned 18.Yep a great inspiring night. He should be right to play in the mid/later half of the year say May/June. We need to get to at least 31500 members(budgeted amount) therefore I have contacted everyone I know this morning highlighting last night and telling everyone to join now.Sean Wight was over the moon last night saying this it is- success we come. Therefore if you haven't join DO SO NOW.And get everyone else to do so.But as Cam said we do not want Collingwood supporters. Lastly agree re Scully- however at 18 and under so much scrutiny what a job he does and the other young ones. I think he does not want to put a word wrong. However, agree also- needs to lighten up and ENJOY FOOTBALL & LIFE.Therefore, not allowing the presuure to get to him. He will be a beauty. A further $6000.00 was presented on the night to reduce the debt demolition by the Ballarat branch--great contribution. GO DEES- WOW.
  19. I cannot recall this being done.It was actually Stuart Grimshaw whom went through the finances. Changes in jumper announcements were: Jurrah to gain 24 which we all knew and Warnock will wear 1. There was about 250 standing and I was told around 2500 in total. I was talking to Sean Wight whom said tonight was unbelievable- the spirit with JIMMA AROUND IS JUST UNBELIEVABLE AND CATCHY. I felt tonights meeting was also that as well as a feeling that the club wants to make our club one big family. Other significant factors were raised By Cam Schwab which were the driving mechanism of the club was around membership and the strategic plan , they have budgeted for 31500 members Concentration would be around the Casey & Melbourne Councils where in Casey the growth is expectd to unbelievable. 450 thousand are expected to reside in Casey within 20 years. This ,I believe ,would make it as big as Canberra now. The club are going to concentrate on students- and younger persons- similar to Hawthorn .It is felt the Hawthorn club multiplied enormously around the likes of Franklin etc..WOW- what is going to happen when we have many icons. The club is working with the Melbourne City Council with regards homeless persons. Injuries to players was discussed were Jamar who has a hamstring injury will return to full training next week. Bate - is suffering from a hot spot on a sesamoid bone in his toe- played with this condition for virtually all of last year and they are trying to heal it before season starts. Johnson-foot-will start jogging next week Meeson making just slow progress Garland- nearly there, maybe two weeks away from full traing-to me that was the greatest news for the night. Blease back in full traioning, needs to gain confidence. Wonaeamirri 70% right.Bails feels he would or hopefully be right for 3rd NAB game. Staff looked amazing - neat ,well groomed. That is what I recall- good night folks. Forgot one thing--The atmosphere was amazing. Jimma,Bails were in one thought when both of them said--We can't wait --bring it on. GO DEES.
  20. Are you saying you knew about this -before Stokes was charged? re your statement,---but according to one of his associates who I've seen just a short while ago, Stokes is telling the truth. You really have some network !
  21. We will put up with it but wasn't we offered a free server by one of our Demonland members. And yes- Sorry I mistook Black for Dark Blue- my old eyes are starting to go on me. Sorry for that.
  22. What a site- Although a few hickups now and then, I want to congratulate all whom have been involved in this new facade of our website. However, it is slightly dissapointing that the Black is a must- the Blue of our new guernsey wiould have been ideal. Andy - WELL DONE and thank you all.
  23. There is a reason they are forgotten. Cheney is not fast enough and we have enough plodders. MacDonald will be a defender. Sylvia (how could I forget him) and Petterd are also in the mix. Aside from McKenzie I think the rookies will have less chance than the forgotten crew --posted by R.R-. I understand your point however in discussing Cheney last week at training it was thought, he along with Mckenzie,Grysberts etc.. could actually develop into a Ling type. You will also find that Joel MacDonald WILL run through the guts at times. He has been training all pre season for this task along with Cheney, Bennell etc..
  24. You missed out the possibility of adding the forgotten players Rohan Bail,Bell,Bartram,as well as Cheney could definitely run through the guts, along with Petterd,MacDonald and McNamara with a definate Sylvia. Rookies one could add are Healey, McKenzie and Hughes.Note Hughes as been training as a back flanker.
  25. I agree. He will become either Mr Fixit or Flexible- type of replacement for Cam Bruce. He could play CHB,CHF, WING,Midfield, basically wherever Bails or the match committee want him. The way he played on Goodes and beat him hands down really excites me
