  1. Great post-you seem like you would make a great coach
  2. Thanks for your advise- I meant Port Adelaide. Sorry about that--and I appreciate your personal concerns. And by the way --you all should read NAB Cup Match Report by William from the West
  3. I read this thread on Demonland and thought-- what a well written thought provoking argument for negative persons. I for one am not negative, I am realistic. Read my threads since joining in September 2009.I originally posted saying we needed another tall forward. Temel or someone like him made for football now -I thought it would help.Actually I agree with Stakka with the majority of what he says. I have been questioning in my posts other factors.I also placed a post saying I thought Bails would get another year. I still think even with this very young inexperienced out fit that we can win 7 games. This is what I stated many months ago. However it is the ending of the preseason that is definately worrying me. The young ones- in particular Scully will have to be nursed very carefully. Even more so with regards to Watts last year- do not forget he only started training early this year.Even last years , the year before recruits will basically take another couple of years. However, I would have thought, even with our current injuries we would have shown something more than the lack lustre and unskillful first quarter of our match against Freo.Anyhow, back to Stakka- well presented, well adapted which may also make some dreamers realise we are not just going to turn up and win a premiership in a year or two.Playing Fitzpatrick first up shows that we are not ready yet. Also when we get our full list available we will improve well-I think we will play well mid season to late in the season. And maybe a win in October in China. That's positive isn't it ROOST IT.And whilst you think I am a doubter Roost it- have a look at another Demonolgy site to look at how our memberships have decreased against other clubs over the last few weeks nick48 Posted on Tue 02/03/10 23:18:28 Member # Date joined Posts 2131 08/12/2006 3427 just to start the month off. 4. I understand your point but we have been training since the 7th October.Just on 4 months or 17 weeks.I can understand Jamar, Scully and others that have had an interupted pre season.Others I thought it showed a major concern.
  5. My knowledge of the NAB cup has shown me that teams that play well in the NAB cup such as North,Port Melbourne, Freo have generally done very well in the season itself. The NAB cup is part of the pre season getting the plyers ready for the season itself. We have done very well so far haven't we. Overall I think we have been diappointing. And by gee I hope we improve dramatically.I think Adelaide will win by more than 4 goals. If we won that would be a dramatic improvement similar to Richmond thrashing Geelong. Would give us real confidence -- boost for all including you and me.I also have another whom agrees with me Junior our honest captain-http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,8659,26796141-5018851,00.html . Lastly,DemonsHQ states Next weekend is a huge one for Demon fans. NAB Challenge Match on Saturday 13/3 at Casey Fields, followed by Family... http://bit.ly/d56k87 This is the match that I want to see improvement, Scorpion's with a top up of MFC players.(ONLY RASSIN )
  6. true- I was there barracking for both -As you said at least I saw a WIN for HALF OF TEAM .BEST PLAYERS WERE TOP UP.S FROM CASEY. Go Scorpion's Go.
  7. Please get realistic- after round six we will be 0 wins 6 losses.Possibly one win against Richmond.
  8. Your point re kicking maybe valid. However we need good coaching to develop these kids. However my major disappointment is the perceived lack of fitness and ruthlessness. Furthermore, players like Jurrah seems to be very much out of form and unfit.
  9. Some of us maybe realistic and not dreaming.
  10. I have watched every game for the last 20 years. Missed 3 games in the last 51 years, therefore do not be a smartie.Last year we were supposed to be tanking. However over the time Bailey has been at the club he has stated our skills and in particular our kicking has been a major weakness, thus one would think during pre season etc.. we would have had alot of kicking practice which I have seen but this has been ground kicking. However, our kicking for goal is still poor.Maybe we should consider more skilled coaches as Bailley was not a great kick himself, along with Mahoney, West and Williams.Maybe we need Neita or the Ox to show them, which I have stated so many times.Bad kicking is Bad football simple as that..furthermore Winners are grinners and as Barrass says in the HUN today clubs need to be richer--our poor club could go to the walls.
  11. Our kicking- as stated earlier I thought it was atrocious.Lastly as the papers said- we ran out of legs and we have been training since October 7th.
  12. On the average it takes 5 years to rebuild. However we are not out of the woods financially yet. If we do not start something soon we will be overtaken by the GC & GWS.
  13. maybe to win one would be great. To win 7/8 on our current performance I say you are dreaming.
  14. We have been iffing and butting for far too long now...we need to start WINNING.Maybe the tanking was the wrong thing to do? Start winning by playing our players together over he next 3 matches along with more ball practice may assist greatly. Our skills have been appalling.Bad kicking is bad football and our kicking does not seem to have improved over the last 3 seasons. I last year suggested we gain a kicking coach-and still do.As Jimma is assisting Spencer and co. we may have to call on Robbie Flower or a Stan Alves to come down and show these young ones how to kick. The first quarter kicking by the Dees was atrocious, especially under pressure..in both matches against Freo and Essendon..
  15. Great to see another positive post- I think we have gone backwards. Getting belted by Fremantle and then by 40 points by Essendon and running out of puff does not give me confidence for the start of the year. However beating Geelong convincingly like Richmond did gives confidence to all and momentum for the year ahead. We need to get a win shortly. Also we need to get our players co ordinated in a team. With only 4 weeks to go we need to get cohesian.
  16. Again I reiterate I'm glad your positive-- we will revisit say after Round 6. I just hope we are on the board---with at least one win. If we aren't will you then accept we have gone backwards.
  17. I sincerely wish I had your positive thinking. I feel we have gone backwards with regards our trial matches. We supposed to have our greatest pre season yet run out of puff against Essendon. Against Fremantle,YES I thought we would have had a decent crack at it to keep up the momentum.I feel we were very very disappointing and what we have shown so far- lucky to win a game..maybe we are planning to win in China in October and gain momentum for 2011.
  18. Glad your hopeful and I do realise Jimma iS GODLIKE.however the players and coaches aren't. I feel our NAB results have been close to pitiful. We as a club really need to get our act together-where is ROOST IT now? On our trial form we have gone backwards lucky to win a game at all.
  19. As stated before the Fremantle debacle ,if we did not do well our membership drive would collapse. Well we are only signing up at 300 per week against our required 500 and after a 40 point drubbing and the loss of Morton I doubt if membership will reach our budgeted 31000.We will need to show something soon to get our supporters to sign up.
  20. You make some pertinant and relevant points however cannot concede that this match is of no consequencesit is if not crucial -very important we play well..Agree with your point re the last 3 years re membership but our goalposts re budget for 2010 sets a new record requirement. I truthfully hope we do as this club is not out of the financial wilderness yet. We still have a long, long way to go as the AGM night stated.Re our development I concur however the confidence that players could get winning on the road would be amazing, especially without many of our best talls and debut of young ones up to 5.Re our winning premierships, we need to start th winning feeling and look at our draw in the first 5 weeks,Hawthorn,Collingwood,Adelaide,Richmond,Brisbane - one win seems certain, the other 4 very ,very unlikely therefore we need to see some result this weekend. I rest my case.
  21. As my thread states-I believe it is critical to do well in Fremantle to keep the momentum of sales in membership,I also say that I think it is also important for the confidence of players as Alan Jacovich states in another post.Pressure will heavily be on the talls due to injuries I state furthermore. In my post which you query my point of the thread itself,I say we need to win,and I believe we will.In winning,I also say Jurrah will star kicking six which will help sales momentum of membership.Hoping this helps you understand my thread and my post.Maybe you will not be so rude and read threads and posts without the sarcasm.
  22. Dappa-Happy birthday for next Wednesday. Furthermore after he kicks 6 this Sunday,Red, Blue & True, will be Red, Blue & True ---and CORRECT.
  23. We need to win - and WIN we will. Membership will be up for the next few weeks and after Jurrah stars and kicks 6 -we will make him the star of our membership drive. We may even get Rudeboy to join,if Liam starts to star.
  24. As stated, it is my opinion it is very important, if not critical to perform well-to keep up membership numbers IMHO.
