  1. Might have been Chris Connolly who gave the spray.Have a look at the coaches on Melbournefc website
  2. Davey has just become injured .He trained the house down on the 8th January. For God's sake this is pre season - the time to get the list ready to play in around 7 to 8 weeks for Round1.. I actually agree with Whispering Jack when he stated it maybe time for gain an independent to check on these issues.WJ stated on page 1, Item 10- suppose it might not be a bad idea for someone independent to look at how we prepare our players.
  3. When I first made this thread I came into a windful of abuse ridicule etc.. now I say what is your thoughts now???
  4. I take this statement back after the news today- I started this thread back in mid December- now we here we have several players injured just on the start of a new season. Jamar, Spencer, Meeson, Bate, Garland, Wonaeamirri, Davey Johnson are being mentioned today as currently injured. One still has to ask as I did at the start of this pre season -Is it the grounds or bad management. Hey we have had far to many injuries at the start of a season for 3 years now- this is becoming un acceptable
  5. Thanks Andy -- frustrating going all the way down there. However, I cannot understand why the Football department does not get the website of the MFC changed when alterations are made.Still showing- Pre Season Training Training Times The Melbourne Football Club's next open training sessions is; - Friday 29 January - 8am - Casey Fields O well thanks for your effort and love the new site. Well done to all.
  6. Does this mean that there was NO TRAINING AT CASEY TODAY?.
  7. As you were there last Friday, did Dunn train as a forward?
  8. Well we have gave Trengove & Tapscott a great down payment being a 3 year contract
  9. If we were going to play our first AFL game this Saturday what would your forward line be ?
  10. Good points- might even play him on the wing? I wonder if he used Pia as a goal stick if it would help his kicking accurracy.
  11. Just maybe a problem with Miller's kicking and Newton could be lack of skill coaching.
  12. RR.-Agree with your summation. the answer is NONE. I think signing these two young players FOR 3 YEARS is just down right wrong. It would be very diffeent if we signed Jurrah for three. These two young footballers ,whilst show undoubted ability still have to prove themselves.
  13. Just to let you know Brad was drafted in 2001--PICK 55.
  14. Miller will never ever be a world beater- he is a genuine trier with minumum skills. However, every club needs a committed clubman like him. He is a worthy team player whom gets in my best 22 currently.
  15. Absolutely NO SHAME-actually a HUGE HONOUR for the Warlpiri people ,MFC,his family and friends and of course himself. He know realises how important his role at the MFC CAN BE FOR HIMSELF AND HIS PEOPLE. Go L.J & DEES.
  16. Ruddy hope so-I think he could develop into a star.
  17. 2010 Ladder position and record: 14th /6 Wins B & F Winner: Colin Sylvia Most Brownlow Votes: Colin Sylvia Most Rising Star Votes: Jack Trengove Most Improved: Jack Grimes Our 5 most important players at the end of the season will be: Sylvia, Frawley, Grimes, Davey and Green. 2010 Premier: Cats Wooden Spoon: Tigers Brownlow: Dal Santo Coleman: Franklin
  18. CHENEY WARNOCK RIVERS BENNELL FRAWLEY MACDONALD GRIMES MOLONEY MORTON GREEN MILLER SYLVIA MARTIN JURRAH JETTA JAMAR McKENZIE JONES I(FROM) MARIC, BELL, BARTRAM, SPENCER, PETTERD,HEALEY,TRENGOVE,GYSBERTS..
  19. Your points are very sound however the enviroment when he was there was great. I agree with your first part of the post that stated...I would be disappointed if the Club sacrificed player development and the LT future of the Club with the short term fix on "winning" games. MFC needs to get development and game time into younger players. As part of that learning process, these players will be talented but green. Couldn't this be done at Casey. Let us not forget that we have only 14 players whom have played over 50 games on the list. Also whilst I think JW should have had a taste of it last year pulling him after 3 games was the correct thing to do.My attitude is do not cook them too quickly. Our list could develop like Pagan's kids at North did- came up through the under 19's together as winners.
  20. Agree totally- On the 8/1 he did the same and from other training days that I have attended he seems a major contributor. I am rapt that we have him permantly this year after a part time roll last year. I remember when Brett Ratten coached MFC for only the 1 year. The players felt let down and in particular the midfield. We have two great midfield coaches in Williams and West to bring these players on.
  21. Very true they were taking the Berry Street kids to the beach.
  22. I actually agree with you however before he had his lung problems he first played and showed real ability on the wing. To me this is his rightful position. I feel he has lost stamina and not developed further. As stated it is not his ability I question but his health. Just for interest, this is my best team in 2010 what is yours B: CHENEY WARNOCK RIVERS HB: BENNELL FRAWLEY MacDONALD C:GRIMES MOLONEY MORTON HF: GREEN WATTS MILLER FF: DAVEY BATE JURRAH R:JAMAR BRUCE JONES I: McDONALD SYLVIA MARTIN (AND either Petterd, Jetta, Garland ,Maric or Dunn And that is not placing any new recruits in the team-which they will be. Await your views from Perth.
  23. I agree that there maybe 20odd ,not thirty on the list in worse or similar shape as Petterd. However, that is not my point. If we could get a high draft pick for him , I would take it straight away. Petterd at best is a fringe player, most suited to a flexible interchanger whom actually would definately not get into my best 22.Also, my comment was NEARLY make or break year for him ,I say ditto to at least another 15.
  24. Maybe playing the core of young players together at Casey first could be the best initially.Let these young ones being the likes of Jetta, Blease, Strauss, Fitzpatrick, Gawn-when fit and able, Scully, Trengove, Gysberts, Tapscott, along with McNamara, Spencer, McKenzie and maybe even Watts could all grow with confidence within and each other.
  25. To my knowledge the AFL sponsor these exhibition games-pay the clubs for going to meet all costs etc..however the opportunity for the MFC could be amazing- re sponsorship and membership if indeed it is a success and we keep driving momentum. Need to really penetrate this financial drive in China at the Expo.
