  1. Glad your hopeful and I do realise Jimma iS GODLIKE.however the players and coaches aren't. I feel our NAB results have been close to pitiful. We as a club really need to get our act together-where is ROOST IT now? On our trial form we have gone backwards lucky to win a game at all.
  2. As stated before the Fremantle debacle ,if we did not do well our membership drive would collapse. Well we are only signing up at 300 per week against our required 500 and after a 40 point drubbing and the loss of Morton I doubt if membership will reach our budgeted 31000.We will need to show something soon to get our supporters to sign up.
  3. You make some pertinant and relevant points however cannot concede that this match is of no consequencesit is if not crucial -very important we play well..Agree with your point re the last 3 years re membership but our goalposts re budget for 2010 sets a new record requirement. I truthfully hope we do as this club is not out of the financial wilderness yet. We still have a long, long way to go as the AGM night stated.Re our development I concur however the confidence that players could get winning on the road would be amazing, especially without many of our best talls and debut of young ones up to 5.Re our winning premierships, we need to start th winning feeling and look at our draw in the first 5 weeks,Hawthorn,Collingwood,Adelaide,Richmond,Brisbane - one win seems certain, the other 4 very ,very unlikely therefore we need to see some result this weekend. I rest my case.
  4. As my thread states-I believe it is critical to do well in Fremantle to keep the momentum of sales in membership,I also say that I think it is also important for the confidence of players as Alan Jacovich states in another post.Pressure will heavily be on the talls due to injuries I state furthermore. In my post which you query my point of the thread itself,I say we need to win,and I believe we will.In winning,I also say Jurrah will star kicking six which will help sales momentum of membership.Hoping this helps you understand my thread and my post.Maybe you will not be so rude and read threads and posts without the sarcasm.
  5. Dappa-Happy birthday for next Wednesday. Furthermore after he kicks 6 this Sunday,Red, Blue & True, will be Red, Blue & True ---and CORRECT.
  6. We need to win - and WIN we will. Membership will be up for the next few weeks and after Jurrah stars and kicks 6 -we will make him the star of our membership drive. We may even get Rudeboy to join,if Liam starts to star.
  7. As stated, it is my opinion it is very important, if not critical to perform well-to keep up membership numbers IMHO.
  8. AGREE TOTALLY
  9. The major difference being we narrowly lost to the previous year's PREMIERS. I repeat A MAJOR DIFFERENCE.
  10. This match in Fremantle next Sunday is very important not only to and for the confidence of the players,it is also very important for the drive of maintaining the membership numbers to gain 31,000 being the budgeted amount for 2010.With just on 22,000 now and 18 weeks till the end of June 2010,the club will have to get over 500 week every week to achieve its required number. Therefore, to put in a weak performance will be very telling for the club overall. With the betting showing Fremantle at long odd on does not go well for a great start. Also our injuries to tall players will be a telling blow for this match.Just hoping we can play well to start our season on a postive momentum. Your thoughts?? GO DEES!
  11. Garland will not play opening round. He is and will not be fit enough.Casey will have him for several weeks until he is fit and regains solid form and confidence.
  12. MELBOURNE B: Jamie Bennell, Matthew Warnock, Jared Rivers HB: Joel Macdonald, James Frawley, Kyle Cheney The above will be the six, with Jack Grimes either in the guts or playing on a wing. The six have great flexibility between them. The makings of a premiership backline.
  13. I just hope Freo do not kick our butt because I'd hate to see your explanation then about us.
  14. Firstly welcome back YM. You make great sense. I think Natanui has the makings of a star. With what we have seen of JW-who knows. However, MFC had the choice in the 2008 draft -to pick a ruckman- Natanui or a tall forward- JW. In 2009 they made up by picking two promising talls- Gawn & Fitzpatrick, whom I believe will be or have the makings of stardom themselves..No doubt Natanui has it on the board and all others still have to produce. It really is up to them and the MFC to develop them.
  15. Great point re Fawley's weight and height. But wouldn't it be great to know definately that this is fact rather than guessing a little. And re Dappa's point re Neita, whilst true, I wonder if clubs use this as a tactic to throw other clubs re match up's etc..
  16. Well it would be important to me,micro information leads to macro -information which leads to total information.Having the changes in height and weight allows one to see the progress and development. It is not like a computer which I believe you are an expert in.This is just common sense and logic.
  17. I concur re your point of natural progress. I think always the aim of winning a premiership is foremost in players minds but to me is the confidence the players have in each other especially on the field. However the mateship they grow off field is also a major factor. Like North Melbourne in the era of Carey- a major factor of their success was the commradship developed by playing Under 19;s together and moving up as nearly one. Alot of the recruits have known each other for a long time now and they have the opportunity to grow together through natural aspects such as confidence etc..
  18. It would be great if we could be notified by, such as the melbournefc website, of any growth in particular weight and height. This has been one of my beefs for years.
  19. I have NO DOUBT that you are correct- however that does not make a player, playing under all conditions of the 1980's better or worse than one currently. My opinion is that things change. I raced standardbreds(pacers) in both Australia and America during the 1990,s ans in the 2000's and the conditions changed during that period significantly. Tracks were maintained better, equipment was better, training was significantly better but that does not show the horses were inferior. One basically cannot compare eras with eras. One can only summise.Great players are great players in any era. However they can only be compared in the era that they compete in.
  20. This may assist you, http://www.sportingpulse.com/comp_info.cgi?a=ROUND&round=1&client=1-118-0-102874-0&pool=-1. In viewing the above,Werribee have 3 listed night games, starting at 7pm, Round 3,4,16 along side Casey's Round 1 as you stated.
  21. Barring injury I think both arecertainties to play
  22. Intersting to note that he was down at training last week.Source Hutch in last Sundays Sun.
  23. We are ready for Fremantle both declare ready to go http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7415/newsid/89369/default.aspx Both are keen, willing and waiting
  24. HT, let's get a little serious here.Davey is not a champion at this stage, he has not one a game off his own boot,(AS THE SAYING GOES),he is a very good footballer, currently MFC best. However not in the class of possibly the best 50 in the league..Or indeed, he may just scrape in. But one would not rate him in the class of a Flower etc..(again at this stage.)
  25. Very well put- I second your sentiments.
