  1. The only escape could be if Sheedy offers him a job with GWS. He won't take it as MFC will be in the eight by 2012 with Bails as coach.
  2. Yep- maybe play 3 setters in many cities in Europe- such as Paris, Wimbleton, and maybe another major city.It is so easy to get to each one. The final in a seperate city again. Intersting to note that this is Hird's one suggestion. He has been sitting on it awhile. Got definate merit- as long as players, say 7 out of top 10 say yes, others will follow. Also spectators will have to think it is brilliant along with television.
  3. High Tower thanks for providing the link.
  4. Deb We sent our via email to: [email protected], Attention to The Editor-in-Chief, Nonimation for Australian of the Year-Jim Stynes And we said why- re his status level with teenagers re Reach & MFC Press enter anmd away it went- Good luck -Jimma deserves it
  5. Got your point - however I do feel that the club would know if he can coach by now- Connolly & Schwab have been around long enough- however I feel a 1 year extension is acceptable but definately no more.
  6. Nasher- I didn't miss your point. But are you saying that a club can judge a coaches appointment within six months, then Bailey should have been sacked 18 months ago. Please be real, it has taken the club 3 years do wean out the weaknesses and recruit to develop a top class team. However, he should be able to show his true & full value as senior coach at MFC within a full year.
  7. These are classified as major country events/ tournaments(GRAND SLAMS). These will not be taken over by the World Cup.We will have to wait and see what the players say. However, indications are it will be different as below: HOW IT WOULD WORK * Tournament would be played once every two years. * 10 day event with 32 teams in eight groups of four, with 16 reaching the elimination stages. * Each tie to feature a single match over the best of five sets - with each player having to field at least two players, allowing for mid-match substitutions. * Maximum of 25 seconds between points * Tiebreaks to be the first to five points
  8. Just don't be so cocksure of yourself. Hope he shows you and up and barbeques your thoughts
  9. My whole family & friends have sent of there nominations for Jimma-it would be great Jimma- Australian of the year,LJ, Young Australian & MFC reach the eight. WOW what a year & great start to a new dwcade GO DEES
  10. Article in the Herald Sun outlining Hird's vision--http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/james-hirds-vision-for-tennis-world-cup/story-e6frf9io-1225818786859 Would it work---your opinions please.
  11. Possibly at our GM- 4TH February Furthermore, we could alter his contract to extend his contract, say for a further year or two subject to certain criterias.
  12. NO DAPPA- I will say YOU TOLD US SO
  13. Maybe you should go down to training to see it for yourself- VERY IMPRESSIVE when you see it done by all- shows that mistakes hurt the whole team ,not just the individual.
  14. Well stated responses on both posts Axis of Bob- agreed but I do think they need to set goals still- 7 games should be their target. When Schwab,Bails etc went overseas late last year to look at coaching etc at other clubs- my brain said to me the club was investing in a coach for more than 1 year hence the thoughts of extension.Hopefully and I expect only one more year - re end of 2011.
  15. Another Carlton press issue that has just it's head is that last years delisted player Adam Hartlett has been arrested on assault charges Christmas Eve- same night as the Booze Boat issue. However Hartlett was arrested for the assaults in Adelaide.-- http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/form...o-1225818477644
  16. That is a matter of opinion- I respect yours and agree with some aspects only.
  17. Totally understand your point- and agree - but at a pinch they could run through the guts. Cheney& McNamara could play on a wing also. Just looked at an AFL record- Round 9 2008 re ninth game that Bails coached us-against the premiers Hawthorn, the centerline was Bate Mclean Green Rucks- White McDonald Jones Interchange- Bode,Buckley,C.Johnson, Valenti, Yze. I therefore rest my case.
  18. RR - you are correct in saying you win a game through the midfield. No doubt that the recruiting has specialised in this area buy recruiting- Morton,Grimes, Maric, Cheney,McNamara all in 07 .Bails first year of recruiting- all could run through the midfield. In 2008-Blease,Strauss,Bennell, Jetta, Bail &Jurrah-all of these could run through the midfield and Watts did in the Under 18's. In 2009-Scully, Trengove,Grysberts,Tapscott, Joel MacDonald- all could run through the midfield as well. Gawn & Fitzpatrick the other two- ruckman/ forwards. Therefore, he must have thought we had a major weakness in the midfield when he arrived.
  19. I didn't say that- read my post properly.
  20. Confidence is really a major component to a player and yes, I do believe that if the press really got into him - it could really affect him. However, the major saving grace is - his personality probably would not affect him like some others and Bails will not play him until he is really ready. I got from the news report that Williams thinks that the club will not play him till he is ready-- whenever that is.
  21. Many thanks for stopping, reporting and taking photos for us. A very interesting observation you raised re the push ups- they did the same last Friday when they made a mistake- it was quite incredable when they all went straight to ground to do them. Great that Bails spent the time with you and answered straight forwardly. You can tell- it has made your day and you have made mine by your report.Another very interesting point was Hughes training in the backline. Maybe trying to make him versatile or to help him run off his opponent when on the forward line
  22. There is no doubt the club is wrapping this guy up in cotton wool- they know the ramifications if last year is revisited-(the press will be all out to get him),.although I think he performed adequately. Jack will start to really show his true worth after a couple of pre seasons possibly 3 more. I have no doubt he will be a sensation - however we all have to be very patient with him.
  23. I sincerely hope you are right- I for one would be rapt- another whom W.J pointed out in his report whom really looks well is Spencer(only just turned 20 in October). He seems to have grown, filled out and also seems remarkably fitter. His kicking seems to have improved- although this is at training and not in match conditions. However, one can only see his personal improvement which is almighty to give himself every effort to move forward. Go Spence & Juice-two very good rookies at least.
  24. Just for the record- Fevola kicked two before half time. However, do not recall if both was on Frawley.Got an idea, one was one Rivers. Extract from AFL states. Fevola, who also kicked seven last time these teams met, had one in each of the first two terms, but booted four in the third and then another in the last to give him 81 for the year.2009 results on AFL website.
  25. Article on the MFC site states Jack has been ill but is progressing fine now. Bringing him along slowly. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/chri...f-1225818222585
