I agree generally, but i find most of the time he chimes in just to chime in. and the irony is im doing it here just on a smaller scale. And a lot of the time it's just argument for arguments sake. There's critical analysis, and there's just berating and annoying someone just to win an argument, which is a big big problem on this site. There's not many people who understand that the person with the opposing view will never change their mind no matter how much you argue. That's why the "no bs tom scully" thread when on for about 90 pages until people started talking about other topics and it just became a group chat about nothing. It was a cyclical revolving door of opinions, that went on for so long that most people couldn't be bothered anymore. I think also with the whole "no melbourne supporters know anything about football" is because probably generally the common supporter won't. All my friends go for geelong and st.kilda, and they know more about the d's than your common supporter. It's like fandom in any facet of life, politics, sports, tv shows. This really grinds my gears, elite is getting thrown around too much these days. Could we just say he has good stopping and tackling? And we can start calling our players elite once we start winning games?. There was an article in the... herald maybe? that gave elite players from each club and worst players from each club, and as much as i disagree with the idea of doing the article before the season has started, they put Jack Grimes as our only elite player. I mean he's good but not elite. The old counting chickens... something to do with hatching theory.

It was my first serious foray into the tanking situation tonight. Don't get me wrong, i was aware of what was going on, just never really thought anything would happen mostly because it can't be proved, and or both parties don't want it to go any further than it already has. Having just watched footy classified which some of you are talking like it was a huge beat down on Caroline Wilson, i have to say that this whole thing has been such a giant waste of time. Having heard the "witch" "cow" and other names which are way too harsh on someone just for their opinion...just say nothing will happen, i can't help but feel sorry for the people with the unnecessary levels of stress that seem to be prevalent in this thread. It's a shame really, i love demonland, the training reports, the hot off the press info on teams and such, but having this thread sitting on the top of the pile for so long has really been a drainer... i hope for all our sakes, not just us demonlanders, that we can move on soon. You can seriously go from page 40, to 60 and have 2 people still saying the same arguments, and not budging at all. It's a shame that the people with the most stubborn and incessant opinions are also the loudest on this website.
