  1. I dunno, he seems to have a hard-on for Scully
  2. Interesting that rule still provides for the sub!
  3. Roos has a lot of influence from the Foxtel commentary box!
  4. They believe it about Luke Dahlhaus for some reason... and he does throw.
  5. Should be the same penalty Lewis got at least.
  6. Greene reminds me of Ben Cousins in his early years in more ways than one.
  7. Um, no. Jesse and his family are the only priority. He should do whatever he needs to do right now without needing to spare a thought for the MFC.
  8. Do you ever wonder what would've happened if your Aunty was in fact your uncle? if Don was best on (he wasn't FYI) then I doubt Steve would have raised the point. He did infer there is a role for Tyson if he hits a high level consistently. He's not there yet this season, needs to do better.
  9. Similarly the main disadvantage of Watts/Frost is it disrupts our structures forward and back. We are lacking i50 targets without Watts in there as well. But having a non-AFL standard ruckman robs us of an extra mid compared with using Watts.
  10. Strongly of the opinion that we need to reset back to a more normal forward structure. And I certainly don't want to start pulling defenders in as part time rucks. That means three tall forwards spending most of their time forward and providing a chop out in the ruck if needs be. We need our best forwards (Hogan and Watts) mostly forward - capitalising on entries has been a problem as our structure has been compromised. Whatever benefit we get from Watts around the ball is somewhat offset by having limited targets inside 50. And we need our tall defenders playing back and in form - Daniher and Hooker are dangerous and need respect. So I would suggest the following: In: King, Peterson/Weid, Lewis Out: Spencer, Smith, JKH if Petracca or Viney don't get up in a short week then Bugg and Kent could be considered.
  11. I love him but Jayden Hunt is a massive culprit of this.
  12. Pedo will have to come in for Smith anyway. No idea what we'll do about the ruck. Need Watts forward.
  13. It is possible to win with two down but the nature of our injuries was terminal to our structure. Basically went from a 3 tall forward line to one and petracca was on one leg. Just unable to capitalise on forward entries without the targets and not enough rotations to match them in the last. Feel like the season is slipping away but not because we are a bad team playing bad football. Footy gods haven't been with us at all this year.
  14. JKH has looked a mile off. One good mark but the rest has been poo. ANB has done a couple of good things but just lacks composure. That last kick was as bad as Fitzy's tunnel ball. Oh, and Melksham has been good. I questioned his retention but have liked his game so far.
  15. Same here. Have my 11 week old son decked out in his game day onesie ready to watch the game on his dad's knee while I down a couple of reds and nervously shout at the TV. Fun times!
  16. Given the weather, I'm not sure it was the right week to re-establish a 3 tall forward line. Have lost some genuine pace in the front half with Kent and Hannan so the bigs will need to be clean.
  17. This
  18. I actually think I know Emily, all BS aside. If it's the girl I think it is, I'm serious about her being a good chick. Hope the Bernie stuff is BS though.
  19. Genuinely happy with two ins and one of the outs. Hogan and Hibberd make us a better team. Weidemann out is a no brainer on form. However I think there are still quite a few NQRs in the team this week and I I'm not sure the balance is ideal. Good on Tim Smith for working his bum off to get into the team but I'll be genuinely stunned if he ends up playing more than 20 games for us in his career. I hope I'm wrong but I don't see enough AFL attributes in him. JKH has teased his whole career but never delivered yet. And on top of that, hasn't played much footy since his injury. He is talented so I hope he comes good but I'm not sure he's ready for selection just yet. Maybe he'll get a role as a small defender in the Jetta mould? Although he lacks a bit of pace so not sure how he'd cope with Richmond's smalls. But he is usually pretty smart with the footy so hopefully he can get his hands on it more than he has in the past. Our forward half looks a lot slower without Kent and Hannan in the side so Hogan, Watts and Smith will need to bring plenty of pressure to compliment Garlett and ANB. Just on ANB, his start to the year has been promising, but there is still a query on his decision making under pressure. Same with Harmes who is hard at the footy and great overhead but a horrible user of the footy. Melksham should consider himself the luckiest bloke in the 22. If his form continues he'll be swapped out for Lewis next week. Tyson is also lucky. I don't think there is a player on the list with a bigger gap between his best and worst... he is nowhere near top gear and needs to use the footy well to justify a spot as he is a defensive liability due to his pace. Bugg should consider himself stiff on last week's effort. Overall, I think we are probably fielding a slightly better side this week for the inclusions of Hogan and Hibberd but I'm not sure the other two changes improve our structure or the quality of the personnel on the field. I think we've made too many changes and are making a bit of a habit of rushing blokes back a touch early.
  20. Emily's a cool chick, give her a break. ? Doubt the rumour is talking about pre-retirement though. And even if it is, I doubt either of Adelaide or Port would want him now anyway.
  21. That is an excellent point. Significant double standards by the AFL for their own brand protection rather than anything in the players' interests.
  22. Haha a couple of weeks is a long time in football... Gary Ablett is phoning it in and finished. What should we offer to get him to the Demons? He was always going to bounce back. Some people are so myopic.
  23. Saints might get another crack at a #1 pick as early as this year
  24. Jones did exactly that against Carlton and was instrumental in the turnaround against the Saints... I fundamentally disagree with this whole notion. Teams generally win when their good players play well. Maybe in years past our leadership was terrible but it has improved and we are winning more and more games. Freo got smashed against Geelong and Port - do they have terrible leaders or are you just using a sample that suits your hypothesis?
  25. I don't understand all this talk about leadership void. Jones was in our best players 3 out of 4 games. Had one quiet one. Hardly a hanging offence.
