Blatant shove to Gillard not paid

There is a difference between filling a casual vacancy before an election and identifying a candidate to run in an election with the skills the Board has identified as necessary.

Could we use Petracca picks to crash the Zach Merrett party if we can’t land Bailey? Would have a lot more currency than the Hawks.

All the media in the last 24 hours suggesting a straight swap of Petracca & Humphrey at best for Dees and we may have to sweeten the deal. We need to get a lot more proactive with the media as that narrative is ridiculous.

Genuine question, why do we always hang 5 or so metres behind the mark instead of pushing up?

Our inability to kick straight kills us

Petty can second ruck. AJ is bog average. He touched it 5 times for the game, one of which was a horrific shank. Offered little presence in the ruck either, he was just a body in there which Petty could easily do. Flagellating the FD is a bit of an overreach btw.

Terrible game of footy. Half time score in good conditions what decent sides would post in a quarter. Our inability to capitalise on this clearance dominance is ridiculous. Watch Reid kick three in the second half just to add insult to injury.

Our players are so stationary whenever we have a mark or a free kick. We give ourselves very little opportunity to take uncontested marks and build pressure, we just bomb to a contest over and over. We were ok with that when contest was our superpower, but that’s clearly not the case anymore.

Viney has to be dropped

The fact he’s even in contention for a regular spot with that back story is precisely indicative of our issues.

Agree on Sparrow, he’s far from our biggest problem. Sharp, Spargo and Henderson just aren’t at the level. It reminds me of the days we had Jimmy Magner and Dean Terlich running around. And none of Fritsch, JVR and Petty are at AFL standard right now and Viney can’t hit the side of a barn. The problem is we don’t have the reinforcements. AJ isn’t going to be the answer and next cabs off the midfield ranks are Laurie (worth a shot) and Billings. We need young guys like Jefferson, Langford and Lindsay to step up really quickly but that’s a big ask when everyone around them is struggling.

Our skills are that bad

We’re playing badly and down by two goals. Play a decent second half and we win this comfortably.

I’m starting to find myself in the emotionally awkward position of wanting my favourite player to leave the club. I’m so disappointed in how this is unfolding and his insistence on saying nothing is hurting everyone. Other clubs know they’ll have to pay a premium to get Tracc so if we can get a McKay type of player and a first rounder or two we come out of this ok. Find a partner for Roo up forward, throw Petty back with Lever to shore up a bit of an impending hole when May and T-Mac leave and draft in some additional midfield talent along with pick 5 to partner Oliver and Viney. I think it could end up a win. Reminds me a bit of when Judd left WCE and the Eagles won that trade.

Hard watch. Lizzie has been dangerous but might get rubbed out. Chandler has tried hard. Gawn ok. Everyone else has been horrible. Viney played his only A grade game for the year and put the cue in the rack.

One of the more biased umpiring performances I’ve ever seen. Also one of the laziest pressure halves of pressure I’ve ever seen. PS has Marty Hore ever kicked a ball forwards?

Howes’ disposal disgraceful

Billlings finished with the 6th most possessions (18) for the team plus a goal in less than a half of footy. He gets a pass too.
