Martin won't kick goals if the ball doesn't go down there. Beat them in the middle and we win the game.
-
Yep - we'll likely play Essendon or Collingwood the following week each year (this year Essendon)
-
27k probably 25k Melbourne supporters. Many away for Easter or other family commitments. I will be disappointed if there is less than 25k Demons there. Just exactly how cold do you expect it to be? It's not exactly the depths of July, the forecast is for a low of 15.
-
Melbourne has been crying out for more prime time FTA/marquee games - and you're suggesting supporters will stay home because it's going to be a little bit cold and because they're upset the team got rolled by less than a kick last week? We should get 25-30k there, Richmond will probably get 40k-odd. If there's not at least 25k Melbourne supporters there then we don't deserve these slots and don't deserve to complain about the AFL fixturing.

I'll be ground level AFL members. I've reserved seats undercover M25 but if there are better seats available closer to the wing I'll be moving there

People who don't have Foxtel or know how to torrent
-
Do they still have the "Dob in a Demon" thing - I want to dob in my uncle who gave up his membership a couple of years back but still comes to games regularly on my wife's or sons ticket

Interesting to see what the Cats player who jumped up and elbowed Hodge in the head gets. If it's anything less than 4 weeks it's a joke in comparison to Lewis' penalty
-
Not to mention the same impact to different players can have differing outcomes
-
Why do you think channel 7 elected to put MKR on 7 and Rich/Melb on 7Mate?
-
Good, hopefully we smash the pricks
-
62k today and a lot of empty seats in the Hawthorn reserved seats area in the southern stand. 80k+ to these games not long ago and I don't think it's 20k Cats fans who have dropped off.
-
Yep, if they have a succession of 50 seasons to mirror our last 50 then I'll laugh. I've seen them win 7 flags plus another 2 since I was born. They've been the best/most successful club of the last half century and it isn't even close. Hopefully the worm turns and who knows, maybe we'll win back some Hawthorn supporters kids just like a lot of Melbourne supporters kids went to the Hawks to jump on their success in the 70's and 80s

The problem is your average Joe will flick to channel 7 to watch the footy and if it's not on they'll think it's a Foxtel game. Most people still stick to 2, 7, 9, 10 and SBS, the secondary channels are still just that - secondary. People don't really scroll through them when channel surfing.

I think our biggest issue is not converting scoring shots when we have the momentum. Against Geelong obviously but also early on against Freo before we kicked 7 goals in the 2nd quarter. Also the first 10 minutes of the last quarter against Freo. The gameplan seems to be working well enough to win games, we're just not kicking enough goals when we have the chance.
-
That cannot be right. 7 isn't gonna forego a Richmond game on FTA especially in the form they're in.
-
I ducked out for a smoke 25 minutes into the 3rd (after another Freo goal) and was back in before 3/4 time at gate 6. No one else there except for the odd person here or there. Had to get scanned again coming back in. I said to the guy mate I've been standing right there the whole time, haven't quickly nicked off to grab an arsenal he just laughed and did the half hearted wand over - even the people doing it know it's BS. Another example, the bag checks. I always take a back pack with me. They often glance into the zip I open, which has a jumper on top and who knows what underneath. They don't even bother with the other two pockets. Completely tokenistic.
-
I just think questioning the co-captain decision is fruitless and creates an issue from something we can't fix - not at this stage of the season anyway
-
Harsh. And unwarranted.
-
Pretty sure with about 5 minutes to go we also had Jones Viney and Petracca (or maybe it was Oliver can't remember) on the bench. I remember looking up and thinking we need to win clearances here and our best mods are on the bench.

I feel Watts has gone up another level these last 2 games. Last year he was fantastic but this year he has added a far more team oriented mindset and has become a real leader. It is great to see from someone who was almost out the door 2 years ago
-
I dunno I feel focusing on things like the co-captaincy is just distraction
-
So who makes way for Hogan?
-
Agree wholeheartedly

I don't think anyone is having a go at the Weid (not any reasonable person anyway) just acknowledging he needs more time to develop at Casey
