  1. Sorry about that, Biff.
  2. I knew someone would take the P. 😉
  3. And rid elements that could cause the club and board to lose focus on being the best we can be in 2025. That's fine. Like the Trac stuff should have been, the results of the external review should be kept in house...
  4. I'm not convinced by this. Some players maybe, but others would struggle. It's natural. It's a trust issue. I'm not sure how we go about being a team-first, 2021 style playing group after this. We just have to hope that Goody, the leadership group and hopefully a new head of footy and a new coach or two can scaffold the playing group the right way.
  5. Problem is I don't think Hynes will be there at pick 25. Reckon he'll go top 20.
  6. This might be a bit of a hail mary this thread given as it stands, we don't have another first round pick in 2024. However, I wanted to give this guy a thread of his own for discussion. I really like his x factor and physicality. He's a very JT type player IMV. 190cm mid/forward who plays alongside Harvey Langford and Riak Andrew at Dandy Stingrays. To me he's got a bit of Chad Warner's burst of power and physicality from stoppage and even Jack Steven (of St Kilda and Geelong fame), and if I was being really kind, around goal, he's a bit Stevie J-ish. Apparently, we've interviewed him, he's expected to go mid to late first round. Cal's latest phantom form guide has him at 18, so if we can trade up our future first into the first round in 2024, we should be able to nab him. Here are two glimpses of what he can deliver.
  7. Definitely pick up Riak. We might be sitting quite well for talls in 14 months time. Andrew, Ah-Mu and White. And no, I don't want some nuffy to say "that's if White comes". White will be a Demon.
  8. How do we keep our top 5 pick, get another in the first round and Houston? Am I being greedy?
  9. Mate, who do you like for our pick, versus who do you think we'll pick if different? And I completely agree on the above. @Colm, I was thinking Hynes if we can trade our future 1st for a later first rounder. I reckon Langford or Lalor at our first pick, and then Hynes at that 15-20 mark.
  10. The one I like is Connor Hynes and someone mentioned we'd interviewed him recently. Big bodied mid that can play forward. He's likely to be there around pick 15ish.
  11. I'd prefer Langford and Lalor anyway.
  12. I'd go after Owies.
  13. From what I've seen, Smillie kicks it better to advantage than anyone on our list.
  14. Tapped on the shoulder by whom? We need major changes on the board, so who's pulling the strings here?
  15. You can't ask the board to review themselves. And I and many others do not trust Pert. And clearly Trac wasn't listened to the first time he voiced his concerns last year.
  16. Lalor has the Trac ceiling, but IMV, Langford has the Bont ceiling. Both damaging, but different offerings.
  17. Come on, Melbourne. Asleep at the wheel here if we don't get him back.
  18. He resigned from the board in 2013.
  19. I'd back Steve Smith, provided he's open to an external review. I know for a fact we could do better with our MCC relationship, so he'd certainly help that.
  20. You have to be one of our board members. You've been writing absolute twaddle for pages now. If there is nothing wrong, an external review would show nothing is wrong. Why do you not want the entire club to be held accountable?
  21. Anyone that doesn't think we need a robust external review, from the board down, is drunk at the wheel. But I don't think those on our board will want to undermine their ineptitude.
  22. I think our talls are alright for next year. We need to put our chips into beefing up the midfield and a small lockdown defender to release McVee higher. But maybe AMW can play this role?
  23. Look, maybe I should retract my previous comment, because I'm not 100%. I thought Mahoney was often driving it, but as list manager, Tim would have played a significant role. But things don't appear to have worked as well since Viney and Mahoney left, so I can only assume they played a greater part.
  24. Agreed, but this was back in the day where Mahoney was a key player, as was Todd Viney. I trust JT, but the jury is out on Tim Lamb for me unfortunately. I think Tim has strengths, but we don't seem to be as nimble and efficient in trading up as we were, but there's probably a large amount of luck in all this.
