Farewell Judd McVee
Probably, but having a bit of a dream isn't rhw worst thing.

Farewell Judd McVee
We plucked him out of nowhere. Does it open a Jackson door?

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
This general sentiment is why it concerns me if we throw out our contested game. We have to be able to play the back half transition game, but then revert to beast mode contest in finals and big matches where the pressure level goes through the roof, and scoring through pure ball movement is much harder.

The thing is we've historically beaten them up around the ball. They score against us in transition. I do wonder if @Ted Lasso is right and we should be keeping our competitive beasts in the contest with a more attacking game style... It will be interesting. Again, there was no real standout team this year. Despite it looking like Lions and Suns dynasties, and the Lions going back to back, they arent unbeatable.

The List Manager Tim Lamb
I'm not in the industry so I wouldn't have a clue, but I spent 20 years at Caulfield, so I know the standard is really not that high.

The List Manager Tim Lamb
Sorry, why do you think Jimmy Bartel would be a good list manager? I think it's telling he went to Caulfield Grammar last year and not an AFL club personally...

That's not my understanding.

It'll be between the Lions and Suns.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Now Kingy is officially Melbourne. Looking forward to the next 2-3 weeks.

Realistic 23 for 2026
I like doing a best 22 myself, but until the trade and draft period are over, it's liable to completely change.

I'd just use Adelaide as leverage in a deal with the Suns. Either the Suns come through with pick 6 and 7 (vis St Kilda for Flanders) or Trac stays IMO.

Unless Rachele or Thilthorpe are involved in a deal with the Crows, the only way we deal with them is by involving a third party.

Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
Nah, it's just all terrible. Don't bring logic in. This thread is classic Demonland. Posters have been whinging for years that we haven't been able to land anyone. The reason being, other clubs offer way overs. We are now targeting players that we think will help us, arguably with a deal that's over what their club wants to offer, and some Demonlanders (many of the same posters who have bemoaned not landing targets), are now whinging again. You can't win. It's Eeyore season.

Rumours
Wow. The Suns are going to be hard to beat aren't they?
-
Sam Flanders
I hope Saints get him for pick 7 and the Suns trade us pick 6 and 7 for Trac (and all his salary). 🤞

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
I hope they are. Most of us have no idea.

I doubt either club is basing their list management decisions on your posting mate.
-
Rumours
Perhaps, I think he could be a good defensive and burst mid, but I think he's a better half back.
-
Sam Flanders
Trac has to want to go to Richmond though, unless you're involving a third team in a trade there.
-
Rumours
It's a no for mine. Sparrow and Rivers are much better midfield depth players than Macrae. But each to their own.
-
Sam Flanders
But you're saying average picks. Ted never said that. We will not trade Trac unless we get a decent return. That may not be x15 1st rounders, but if we could get x1st and a player or x2 1sts, I'd be very happy. And as Ted says, ensure whichever club Trac is traded to takes on his entire salary, so we can throw our hat into the Butters ring, St Kilda-style.

Assistant Coaches in 2026
I can't help being popular, Bowser.

Assistant Coaches in 2026
I'm wondering if he comes cheaply, knows the younger guys already through the Casey system and enables us to spend the soft cap more wisely on assistant coaches and this defacto head of footy role above Richo. Though I'm not saying the development role isn't vital, but it could well be a one year deal or a shorter term deal. I wonder if Lord Nev will become available soon.

Ann Flanders is a boring old biddy!

The Lachy Dovaston Thread
It's been one of our big issues. Outside of Kozzy and Fritta we have lacked game changing forwards. It's why we went hard for Watson and we should keep going hard for his type.
