  1. Yep, I've always liked this model mate. I'm happy to play two talls as well, but I really don't like the three tall forwards. It places too much forward pressure on too few, and encourages long bombing to talls that draw the ball. I'd rather play two talls and have one as a genuine second ruck who can hit the scoreboard (JVR hopefully), much like Collingwood with Cox in 2023.
  2. You'd have him play forward too though, right? Would you play an extra tall forward or just the single tall? The single tall could work (as below). If you move the ball quickly enough, it may well work to structure your forwardline like so: Spargo Fritta Chandler Kozzy Petty Trac Campbell resting forward or on the bench. So there's enough forward pressure with Spargo, Kozzy, Trac and Chandler. It puts the onus on our mids and half backs to ensure they don't long bomb. I'd also try and isolate Petty, Kozzy and Trac one out as often as possible.
  3. I hope we don't make too many changes. We want consistency when you win like we did the other day.
  4. Sure, but inside 20 he's not AFL standard.
  5. Wasn't a great stopping game IMV. You want to keep them under 20 possessions and sub 5 score involvements I reckon. Anyway, it was a better performance from Jack and something to build on. More to do with his better ball use than anything else IMO.
  6. I've heard he's unpopular and yet he's in the leadership group...
  7. King of the flipflop is fine with Trac now.
  8. His opponent had 7 score involvements and 27 touches. If he was doing a tagging job, I wouldn't have thought he did a great job. Thought his game was pretty overrated, but the most pleasing thing was (aside from early on), his ball use was better.
  9. I thought his presser was notable as he certainly seemed to open the door for Fritta or JVR to return as soon as this week.
  10. He's done 100% TOG before. He's incredible.
  11. We noticed Lingers coming to the bench too. I wondered whether they are finally managing our players a little better. When you've got so much dynamic running required as opposed to aerobic up and back, it might allow Lingers to be fresher and therefore better with disposal. His DE is really good this year. Might have something to do with it.
  12. Righto, so no re-tendering will be required. 👌
  13. Interesting. So it wouldn't be a giant leap for Trac to take on the captaincy next year and give Gawny a chop out for his last few years.
  14. Melksham ensures the ball comes to ground. If JVR and others can start to do that, great. Until then, Melksham stays.
  15. Lindsay will be an A grader. Either at half back, on a wing or even through the midfield. He's got leadership pedigree, beautiful skills, a decent tackler (although missed a few on the weekend) and he has pace. What's not to like? The ceiling is high.
  16. Figured, but I still liked it.
  17. It's too early to tell. What might be our best line up now is unlikely to be our best line up by the end of the year. I hope we can get a look at Adams and Sestan at AFL level soon. I think Turner should be in our best side too.
  18. Yep, Daicos is a gun. The little twerp.
  19. I've been saying for a while I'd much prefer us go two talls and mids/smalls are them. I'm glad we seem to revert to this on the weekend.
  20. I think that's his go. Petty as the big banana and JVR as the second banana and relief ruck.
  21. Rivers played a very aggressive "running back" role without McVee in the team. IMV, he needs to stay at half back with the footy in front of him. He's always been super dynamic in that role. His disposal can be iffy, but if we have more movement ahead of us, he looks A+ (only 3 turnovers from 26 touches on the weekend). Without AMW, McVee should be locking down on the best opposition small and rebounding off them.
  22. He's a shocking kick, but he still kicked the most important one down at the Cattery. Thanks Big Maxy!
  23. I wonder what Caro will say...
  24. Yeah, May really worries me. As does Lever. I just wonder if we're actually going past them as a team. Controversial perhaps. I'd be trying to get Adams in there. He's a nice kick and quick. The beauty of TMac as a defender is he's super quick to move it on and with movement ahead of him (with further belief in the new system), he's the sort of KPB we want. A neat kick who moves it on quickly and efficiently.
  25. The AFL will change them on the fly as usual.
