  1. Yeah, this article is stupid. As if I give a flying crap when they start pre-season. I love how they speak on behalf of Demons fans. Or at least think they are. They're making out that starting pre-season before the Spring Racing Carnival is suicide. I thought it was a natural occurrence for teams that didn't play finals to slowly start up training around mid-late October?
  2. I remember that Carlton game like it was yesterday. Such a good win.
  3. Ask Allen Jackovich. After Paul was inducted into Melbourne's best players ahead of him, Jacko collected every piece of Hopgood footage to see why he wasn't as good a footballer as Paul.
  4. It's not very good, but it's better than this POS:
  5. I think he's referring to the colours. I can't imagine the collar ever coming back.
  6. Didn't Rivers debut in 04?
  7. I still have my 2007 ones on my car Let's just say they look more like the black and white of Collingwood rather than the red and blue of Melbourne.
  8. Oh I don't think that was a reason. But it seems to be the "in" thing for departing players to bag the club that gave them their one and only opportunity, so I guess he's just going with the trend.
  9. "Purchased all 12 of the mini Premiership Cups. I have left room on the shelf for a few more. Might need a bigger shelf " lol Good one, Cam!
  10. I see where he is coming from and always thought for the location of Casey to be a problem for the players, not necessarily the club in moving forward. Hopefully not many other players feel his pain, although I guess some would.
  11. Yes good point. Although, Hall spoke as if he was already a Doggie on the footy show. I assume the two parties have a private agreement that the Dogs will sign him.
  12. Dogs will be getting Hall. Perhaps a three-way trade? Fev to Swans, Hall to Dogs, Ablett and a Bulldogs player to Blues?
  13. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsart...96/default.aspx Can a mod change the title of this thread to simply "Davey resigns for 4 years".
  14. I somewhat understand his argument though. The Bulls did the same thing after the Jordon years, snubbing several older but still very good players for young talent. What ensued was a lack of leadership and ultimately, six years at the bottom. Not only that, but several potential superstar free agents snubbed the Bulls, citing their treatment for older players as their reason for not signing on. I seriously think we're going to struggle to resign Davey. But I guess the bright side of him leaving would be another top 20 pick + a good young player.
  15. No home for 100 years = no culture. People underestimate the importance of a home. We really don't have one. The MCG is just a ground - our spiritual ground. We need a home. I foresee more players leaving in the future. There seems to be no sense of belonging at the club. Nothing whatsoever.
  16. I'm sorry, but if his motive to donate money was to hopefully get a better pay packet, then screw him. As if you have that mentality. Obviously we can't keep everyone, but if he wanted to be captain of this club, he wouldn't be so influenced by the almighty dollar and he'd have been OK with taking a pay cut in the best interests of the club. Salary cap has nothing to do with the club debt.
  17. I don't think Brock succumbed to money. Afterall, this is the guy who donated so much of his own cash to the club. I think he wanted to be Captain and was told he might struggle to make the leadership group next year. Good luck to him trying to make a name for himself in a team with a superstar midfielder. I suppose he'll be taking the spot of Nick Stevens? Hopefully he ends up like him. He is no longer a Melbourne man. A complete traitor in my eyes. You have to feel pain before you can feel success. I hope him and Judd both bleed like the dogs they are next year.
  18. He seriously reminds of that one kid in high school that is just a trouble maker and attention seeker and just lingers around, trying to make people laugh. And then when you sit next to him in class, you never get in work done because he's knocking your [censored] off your table or throwing stuff around the room. He seriously must have the mentality of a 12 year old.
  19. I think that all the Brownlow talk was a bit of a joke guys.
