  1. To anyone -- ANYONE -- that isn't in favour of Bailey, please provide some actual counter arguments as to why he shouldn't get the sack. This is not a "knee-jerk" reaction: He has coached the team to two wooden spoons The club hasn't been the pinnacle of success In a year we were meant to improve, we lost for the sixth or seventh time by 10+ goals We lost. By One Hundreed. AND EIGHTY FOUR POINTS! There's absolutely no reason whatsoever to keep him. He must go this week. To say we should keep him is to say that this lost really meant nothing. You DO NOT lose by 186 points and survive. You just don't. I mean, "hold off from irrational decisions"? THEY LOST BY 184 POINTS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I mean, am I speaking to a brick wall here? I feel like I am seriously all alone. No wonder this club has sucked for so long. 20 years supporting it and I've discovered some of the fans are just as weak and narrow-minded as the club. The club NEEDS to take a stand. YOU DO NOT ACCEPT 184 POINT LOSSES. There is no accepting it. Sacking someone after that performance is not "irrational" or "knee jerk". It's a friggin' decision that ANY company would make in a situation equivalent to this magnitude. I just can't believe there are some saying we shouldn't sack him *facepalm* I don't ever want to see his face again. I have never, in 20 years, been so angry, so insipidly furious, so absolutely undeniably filthy at this club. I really don't know how, where to vent. I am just a lost cause at the moment. And by reading some comments here, I feel like I am alone. If yesterday doesn't get you angry, well then I guess the stereotypes of this club's supporters are correct. Sorry to say.
  2. They'll sack him. He's gone. It's 186 points people. One hundred. And EIGHTY SIX!
  3. You're seeing a lot of nonsense on here? I think that if you're not fuming after today's loss, you're exactly part of the reason why the club hasn't won in 50 years. Everyone should be blowing steam out of their ears. We partly pay these people, dedicate our time, heart, passion to them, and there is a continuous lack of urgency, passion, absolutely no heart. Norm Smith left a long time ago indeed. Who the HELL tries to look for positives in a 180 point loss? I mean, why should we keep it positive? Because the club has been the pinnacle for success? lulz
  4. This. I feel like I am alone in not wanting Bailey to stay no matter what the circumstances...unless we make the friggin' Prelim.
  5. I just want to see grunt at the club for once. Real, relentless, merciless grunt. On the field and in the coaches box.
  6. I don't think he should be signed under any circumstances if one of Roos, Matthews, Blight, Malthouse are available. But why would the club sign proven coaches when they have one coach that can't beat a top 8 side for the life of him? Oh, because it's Melbourne...
  7. lol not surprised. This club has no idea. It's what 40+ years of losing culture brings with it. inb4flamewarwithoutanyproofofsuccesstoprovemewrong
  8. Not get belted by 58 points against the Eagles, Cats and Blues, as has been the case against top-4 sides.
  9. What is this I don't even...
  10. The Hawks and Hodge, Campbell, Crawford, just to name a few. That's a pretty awesome leadership group right there. We are considerably young I'd say.
  11. That's obvious isn't it? Geelong, Collingwood and Hawthorn, with either WC or Carlton rounding it out. Whoever makes that top 4, I think, will be miles ahead of whoever finishes 5th. I already think WC is ahead of Carlton.
  12. Great snow season. Just sayin'.
  13. Let's put things into perspective. Hawthorn missed the finals 5 years in a row: 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 In 2007 they made the finals. 2008 they won a flag. 2002 = 2007 2003 = 2008 2004 = 2009 2005 = 2010 2006 = 2011 Hawthorn finished 9-13 in 2006, a record we seem likely to be similar to. They got their fair share of beltings in 2006, a mere two years before their flag.
  14. Exactly. Who cares how close Scully and Bailey are? If the question is even being raised as to Bailey's coaching ability, we should be looking at other coaches.
  15. Not surprised by the performance. Could smell it after a Darwin game.
  16. I think a 20-point loss.
  17. I like the optimism here, and I'm sure some of you know more about the situation than I do. That said, I am personally confident he will be leaving. I hear about other clubs resigning players, and one that comes to mind now is Rioli at Hawthorn. Rioli said on the radio he was happy to get it done and out of the way so he could focus on footy. But with Scully, he says he wants to push it off until the end of the year so he can focus on footy. I don't understand that. I know that he has to weigh up two option, but they're on the table now. If he was staying at Melbourne, he'd have re-signed now. That's just how I see it. Nothing against him if he leaves. If he goes, that's 2 first round picks, plus extra cap room. 600k for a player of his stature is severely over-paying. Severely.
  18. Currently going through my mid-20s obsession with physics and the universe, so this post has undeniable association with me at this present time.
  19. I think by "anticipate" they mean "we will be prepared", which will probably equate to a slight increase in membership prices to accommodate any possibly Etihad home games. But I doubt we'll have many more there in future. Four games there this year is enough for me. Makes me gag every time we play a game there. Terrible, horrible stadium. I hope the AFL tears it down in 2025 and builds a boutique stadium somewhere, ala. Gold Coast Stadium. Maybe out near Casey.
  20. I think last year's win against the Lions at the G on a Saturday night was a very big win, our biggest for a few years. Coming off 2 wooden spoons. Spotlight game on a Saturday night. Lions rolling with 5-0 start, Fevola and Brown dominating. We destroyed them from the opening bounce. No contest imo.
  21. I might head down there. I will post in here beforehand if I do, maybe a few of us can meet up. Half-time blackjack tables?
