Unfortunately this shows how poor we are in the back half with individuals. mainly our talls. I think if the Oppo forwards push up high and we want our defenders to drop off, we need our Mids and half-forwards to be in our back-half and close off the spaces. We need to select small speedy skilled players on our wings, who will run hard all game. These should be our connecting players. Our Centre-man should be similarly quick but more robust. win 5 or 6 games this season. LoL Wheres the future in that ?
-
We'd be better with chandler, bedford or spargo. Our forwardline is a dysfunctional mess , which is making all players struggle.
-
Interesting we have the 'reach' game tonight... and against the bummers where Dean Bailey played, and all this tanking garbage comes back up again. Has this eventuated Via Essenscum somehow ?
-
You build from the basement and up, elegt. Not from the penthouse and down... we have the base. Maybe we got into finals too quickly, and now they changed the rules on us. Setting us back... and so did our injury management, last 2 seasons, has hurt us

I'm thinking its time we get back to the draft this year and get in some talent. because we are lacking much.
-
This might be worth it in place of Oscar. while we wait for May to come in. easing the running on TMc. Frost will be better with TMc helping. They should have tried Oscar forward for 10 minutes tonight, to see how he shaped ? too late now.
-
Weide isn't doing anything wrong its the supply which is killing him. he needs to know where to expect to run to. he is being slaughtered by our mids going into f50. I heard on ch-7 tonight after game, that TMc had an injection in the ankle ? he was running flat, like he had no endurance or power in his run. Maybe this is why they were using him from the goal-square... and not up high. ... all our strengths of last year, are now our weaknesses.

One more loss now, and we're toasted. We won't get the confidence back in time to do anything. It really feels like the gods are against us. The AFL dioidn't want to change things too quickly via reducing rotations furhter so they go and do a 666... they could not have hurt us in particular, if they planned it.
-
OMc is playing really conservatively. he has gone further into his shell. this exposes Frost and the other defenders all are now struggling in particular , so something their is not right. Someone (Jetta) will get hurt soon, if they don't sort it out. He's not as strong as Whelan was.

Jones - tyre ring quickly Viney - cannot run anymore T. Not working Now after the AFL introduced 666. An interesting turn of phrase... makes me wonder if Gil is a spiteful sort? maybe his serpent got loose again.
-
We cannot afford tSmith and Petracca in the same forwardline, in this new 666 setup, imv. Unless they are spread apart, and we kick better, which is not going to happen. I would play tSmith ahead of Tracca because Smith is a stronger mark, and is taller, plays taller, so we can then have other smalls around. Tracca is neither small nor tall, isn't a reliable mark overhead, and cant outrun Maxy. Fumbles too often up forward... as he has to think about how he can get past his opponent, without any speed.
-
Oscar has gone backwards from last year. And Frost is a mobile 3rd tall,. utility type, being asked too much of. Hibberd as well has lost all confidence and faith in our defence, and Jetta is struggling as well, to cover off all the holes. None of our mids are helping the backs out. we are a shell of last year and we lack TYMc's power running as he is injured, as plainly is Viney. All our guns are playing hurt, and/or out injured. We have to bring in all out pace to chop-out our walking wounded. And Max... stop kicking the footy on the run.
-
ground coverage we couldn't cover the ground tonight as it was, with all the space we allowed them. They cut us up with that space. These two players are 2 of our best distance runners, with our style, we cannot lose them. or things will bet worse. What your asking for is a total change of gamestyle and personnel. And we do not have the skilled players to play that way.
-
Oscar has to go to Casey or forward. Preferably Casey. Hunt is NOT the answer. no brains and takes the easy way too often, resulting in lesser outcomes for us defensively... offensively has not smarts. >>> Casey. and out... Stretch in as the Next. Petracca cannot be started in the Forwardline. He makes us too slow. Which results in our forwards being further under pressure, each time. He has to play in the guts, or at Casey... even if he kicks a goal occasionally, his effect on the forward half is pressure on us. We cannot lose ANB we need his spread. losing JKH has hurt. Brayshaw isn't quick and is butchering the ball into F50... He stays in. Essendon beat us, because of nippy players, and our zone destroyed us... we gave them more space then Alpha Centauri. They're nippy players cut our defenders to ribbons.
-
We can R(b)G... but we must change structure,, discard this full press, and come back to a rolling press. ... or all the way to traditional old footy, might be too much for us atmo.
-
Not panicking BUT. even if we change our shape, with quicker running players... our main drivers and leaders are all hurt, in the feet. TMC has lost a yard of speed, and also endurance, and IMO is on limited Klms training thru the week. Viney is slower by foot. And Jones as well. with age. not his fault. Our skilled players like Hannan are not available. and we are relying on petracca who is a slow as the tortoise. Bright lights are Lockhart, CWagner, Oli, Melk, Harmes, I'm concerned that are main drivers are playing sore in the feet... can't run properly. Last years foot injuries are going to really hurt us. I just wonder !!!
-
What I'm saying is our centre clearance structures are not functioning like last year... Max has been worked out, ans is not playing effectively. We aren't getting clean ball out of the middle at ball ups. Our backs and Mids push to far forward when we have it, and them we cough it up, and it comes back thru empty space... as they run thru space. Scoring at will. Goody and the match committee have to change things quickly, before this becomes a disaster... which in turn means we have to change our personnel/types, into the team.We brought in some runners and we need rot change our structures and setups. Our zone is hurting us, on rebound.

big heads are showing out.
-
not good enough, tackles to the softer side of the tackleee... missing out on upsetting the disposal. Hhunt does not have what we need. I'm disappointed in what I've seen of him so far this season.
-
He isn't fit enough as well. he's been manned up, tight.
-
Its more our structure, that isn't working any longer... 666 has unpicked the zone. And our Mids setup has been worked out, and worked over. We no longer control the centre bounces.
