  1. Needs :- man on man skills # a Clint Bizzel sized/styled defender..... low centre of gravity, balanced, good hands, strong overhead, agile, skilled runner..... will suit the 666 rule. # Johnathon Patton # a Cyril Rioli type rover..... not a forward-pocket specialist.... I wonder if Cyril's available ? # an undersized mobile CHF.... must be quick, agile, skilled, great reader of play, quick-witted... does Dermie have any illegitimate sons out there, anywhere ? # Nippy running players with courage..... who can mark the ball.
  2. Frosty seems a confidence type, who needs support... Mid last year he started to lower his eyes at Casey, and finding his targets... then earnt his call up, and from there we started our momentum push to the Finals. He's limited, but has weapons, and we are asking too much of him... he's not a key position player.
  3. Close to as i suspected, but worse. # Mayb we did the deal, Re Hogan and May, a year to early, as some have said the AFL preferred ?
  4. In the right matchup games, play Petty and Frost. OMc needs to go back to the VFL and fight for his spot once again. He has been given too many games now, when he just hasn't performed. Hasn't deserved them. He has to find some more intensity at VFL level. Or he has to see how he goes up forward, with Casey ? Time to bite the bullet, and make a change with Oscar.
  5. That's the game that woke Scott up... to change his team. And he recruited well. Tthey are very different, now.
  6. He wants too coach VFL. So he can be poached.
  7. But he doesn't have to play in the seniors all the time. He can go back to VFL when he's not doing the job. like others do.
  8. When Preuss plays, we can bomb deeper (when needed), and have mosquito's hanging around him.
  9. Traditionally it has been, but it doesn''t work for us... as the defenders are better and more organised than our forwads. ... if the high kick lands around 45+ out, it gives a chance for our talls (Weide) to run straight to where the ball is heading. Instead of guessing what our Mids are likely to do, which is in chaos atmo. So I'd prefer we change things, with the high kick coming in from further out around the wing... aiming at 45mtrs out , then if its smashed out, we can pounce and chip over to someone who has run into some space. Why be traditional, when the defences are built on what is expected.? Why not change things up. We're not al sheep. And we don't have to keep doing the things the way they always been done. creation is never replicated... everything is unique.
  10. If we had enough small pacy players to accompany him, I reckon we would have. We are paying now for recruiting sloths instead of goeys. We started 2017 draft, & last season for pace, but not much top end stuff.
  11. As much trouble as the bummers with their rucks ? It's not the Rucks, its the pacy runners... the ball carriers. they are the ones who carved us up and served us out last night. Preuss will be a target deep F50, and help Maxy out, then Max will be a target deep F50. The pacy smalls can feed at their feet.
  12. Buckley's matured now, into a very good coach. He always had the vision of player types he wanted. So he didn't compromise on skill. The game has been changed toward his direction.
  13. Too many pieces of Our puzzle are out of sorts, this brings the whole puzzle down into a mashup. Everyone started to believe too Hard... And believed the noise. Even May I suspect. Mentally we are under-prepared, and physically off.
  14. Frost is only 95Kgs. Look at him, he has skinny legs for a tall. He is built for running. https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/tp-melbourne-demons?year=2019&sby=8
  15. 6 - nobody 5 - nobody 4 - Gus 3 - Harmes 2 - Lockhart 1 - cWagner
  16. and IMO, they bomb it in too deep.. I would rather us, if we have to bomb, go from Wing position... to 45Mtrs or more, out... Not to inside 40mtrs. I want space behind the pack, that we could use if we win contested ball off that pack. I want the possibility that the Oppo defenders have to be concerned about 360* of the F50, rather than them only facing toward their team-mates.
  17. This is a hangover our our old culture and skills, when Jonesy was a youngster. Maybe its purely there is no one else worthy. Yet. Viney ? sore can't run. TMc ? sore can't run. Who else ? I don't think we have any leaders coming on for a couple of years after Viney TMc. Gawn is too busy with his role.
  18. B/ jWagner...TMc...Jetta HB/ Hibbo...Frost...kKolodj C/ Lockhart...Petracca...Salem HF/ Fritsch...Weide...Brayshaw FF/ Preuss... Hunt...Melksham Rk/ Gawn...Oli...Harmes Int/ Viney...ANB...cWagner...Jones/Stretch/Garlett Em/ Garlett...Keilty...tSmith...
  19. I think zon3es worked last year... and this year with the stroke of an AFL committees pen, (666) I see space and more space, every game. This suits nippy running sides as I predicted irt would so the tiges apart from the key injuries would go well. doggies to, then your GCsand Lions are finding spacce for theirt uyoung talents to play well within. The slower sides are struggling, Swans, Us, possibly Roos. The 2019 game is about running... and our running players are all down for reason.
  20. Yep and neither have I, 'DZ'. but their speed and agility, and that quick footy IQ that comes with being a handy small footy player, would enable them to get around much traffic. causing Oppo defenders more pressure. Petracca and Hunt struggle by foot in congested traffic which is what we're getting atmo. This is why I want Petracca in the midfield, where his lack of agility quickness... will be less telling. Also he will find more space in general play, playing thru the middle of the ground... to use his foot skills. in time and space. Another thing is, he will be better matched thru the middle... he'll have to contend less often with larger opponents, than he has to up forward. His creativity should be more noticeable. At the moment Tracca is very one-dimensional... and defenders would be happy to play on him. He's too heavy, and so is too slow up front. Our forwardline is like treacle, with Tracca and TMc there.
  21. Yes, that's right, and he contributes to us closing down space defensively. This is important to our gamestyle of pressing back and forward, to close off escape routes. This gamestyle isn't working atmo... but that is not ANB's fault. It's others not defending properly, and running hard enough. Some aren't... and some can't, by the looks of them. TMc. I think this is why they are playing TMc deep, and Weide high. TMc's playing hurt.
  22. I think we all might be guilty of thinking we are more advanced a side and that we're better then the reality. So too high expectations.
  23. He is crucial for us at the moment. We are missing his reading play, and settling our weak defenders down. Via instructions. He composes us.
  24. Max has been largely ineffectual this season... but he looks like he might be adjusting to the new shape of the game. He is being worked over by tandem rucks. We need him taking more marks around the ground, and in more telling spots... we need his help taking marks across the midfield mostly, to help us get out of pressure. So we can use the ball better going into F50. This is where we are missing TMc's and Pedo's marking. Also there was one clear opportunity he missed last night, to take the ball from the ruck... where he could have grabbed it and kicked... but he didn't mess this rule change up last night, like he did against the Cats. I think It's time for Preuss.
  25. I was referring to Hunts role... and the 3 smalls (chandler, bedford or spargo) would be better in our congested dysfunctional forwardline. I called for Hunt to play from deep forward, leading out toward the ball. (in an open sort of forwardline with clean ball coming in) But our ball coming in is so chaotic, he will struggle in congestion, as we all saw. It only worked when he got alone. He was lucky johnny on the spot, last night. ... but how many did he create for others ???
