Casey Demons v North Melbourne VFL - Round 2
I don't want him in the team to kick goals... I want him in the team to 'Bust his Backside' for the team... up the field and down the goals, to win possessions, present defensive pressure, setup our players... and to SHARE in the goals with his work-mates. An unselfish Jeffy, is what the team needs. .

Roaming Brian - Round 4 vs Swans
Their viewers are all age groups, and surely the AFL would want this inside access to appeal to the kids... as well as the adults. Lets not over sophisticate it.

Roaming Brian - Round 4 vs Swans
The generation that like this stuff are bored and cynical. looking for more.... maybe because of all the rubbish told to them on the media. Almost force-fed rubbish.. is all they've seen. This plastic society. Maybe going back to ore organic honest commentary... and honest appraisal without any bling comment attached, is the antidote to all this feed-lot mentality. Maybe its the media-bosses and the Advertising executives, doing the very same things the Former AFL stars and their EGO's spread on our daily bread for us, from our waking moment to our time of shut-eye.

IMO good commentators are Virginal, to the playing of the game. Bruce has some of this, but he is a try-hard in the comapny of Former-Stars. The virginal commentator brings with them, 'No EGO'... of, I'm in the know, above all you plebs. It's a service they are supplying to the viewer, of the enjoyment they feel from first hand witnessing the game unfold live. The virginal commentator sits at the same knowledge level as most Viewers... and shares the game live for them into their home. Too much explanation, turns quickly to drivel and to lecturing. Who in their right mind wants some former 'Elite-Star' lecturing them on the finer points of the game... as they sit-down and shut-up... until told otherwise. .

I always think of 'Mike Williamson' these days, as my doyen of commentary... simply because he adored the game, and he didn't pick it to pieces. He was just glowing of it's highlights as they occurred. His love and natural excitement was infectious... and the special comments from the likes of Butch Bale or Teddy Whitten, or whoever at the time, was only in support, and not layered too heavily... the vision accompanied with the 'Williamson' commentary was purely enjoyable... and we didn't have to think much, but just sit there and be excited and stimulated, being witness to the greats playing the game. Also the tribalism was another fantastic layer. It was a very raw and enjoyable time to be in. Today more is seen as 'more'.. when truth be told, less is better. Much better. Like Vegemite, spread it too thick, and its like eating axle grease.

Round 4 Non MFC games
We've been front runners most of that time. Good when the going is good... weak when things aren't going for us. We would pack up shop, too often, too early.

Lack of marking.
We still Need the ability to take those contested marks across the midfield... for when things are hot and not as desired. This is where Maxy and Preuss should focus on... because when we're under the pump, the marks in this part of the ground can ensure our forwards are still supplied... and we can slow the tempo down, if required. Even wasting the clock in a tight finish when our opponents are forging.

Injury List - Season 2019
It appeared like he jarred the AC Joint... He tried to bump the opponent from a bent over prone position. Not smart from Preussy because he could not brace his body properly from that position. He'll play sore for a while I reckon.

Yep, agreed with this statement 'bucky'. That's what you get with former Stars commenting on the game... they think they are the heart of the game. And their Ego's keep climbing over their mate next to them. Until its a tosss fest. IMO the game suffers, from their EGO's ruining it.

Casey Demons v North Melbourne VFL - Round 2
LoL. I noticed on the replay Dec was constantly rubbing his eye . it was disturbing him when he was trying to ruck.I rewound the recording to find the incident thinking someone may have hit him. But it was the footy which bounced up from the centre turf, and hit him in the eye. It seemed to hamper him.

Casey Demons v North Melbourne VFL - Round 2
Dec seemed to get a ball in the eye at a centre bounce, last week... which seemed to trouble him for some time.

Lack of marking.
We need a lot more midfield Marks in transition... and our forwards to mark more often. Our talls, and our Melkshm sized forwards.
-
Lack of marking.
I hope so. I'd love to see Melbournefc, be more powerful marking around the ground... and being smart and strong, using the body. It would be a nice change for US older RednBlue fans, who are traditionally only used to players running around the boundary line carrying the ball, to just turn it over in our forwardline. Then it would come back down the corridor, for a goal.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
If some of our players are not getting suspended this year, we are playing too conservatively. We need to play ON that line. And take risks, and stand on some toes. Traditional Mfc teams are very proper. As Viney just said, we play better with some mongrel intent in our minds.

Lack of marking.
It's a a Melbourne trait of recent decades, since the late 90's imo. We have never been a power marking club like the Hawks and Bombers. Probably closer to the Blues, in the way we traditionally play. Another thing I believe we lack, which I think goes hand in hand with the marking issue you've raised... is Body on Body. In my time, we've never been good at this either... And I believe both aspects are of the physical strength/aggression side of the game. Something we have never dominated in.
