McLean urges Dees fans to show for Dog fight

I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings but the forecast is for rain. No matter - all the long suffering family will be there!!! -
Isn't this why we are all basically going to the football this year. Not only to watch how the team is progressing but the individual development of certain players ie Bennell, Morton, Jetta, Meesen (until injured) Maric, Martin, Cheney and Grimes (apologies if I have left someone out). Seeing the team play their hearts out last Sunday and to see the devastation and exhaustion on their faces tells me we are really going places and will be a force in the near future. We lost our backline and had two to change and we still didn't give up. Last year, well we all know what would have happened. It is fantastic to see how Bennell is playing now compared to his first game. Who gets the credit for this. Obviously Bailey should be applauded for his management of the team. I also heard yesterday that Brighton Grammer is extremely happy and applauds MFC for its handling of our Jack. Stick that in your collective pipe all those neersayers who want him in the team now.

Healy had not one good thing to same about his old club. He almost made BT sound like a fan. Has Healy been left out of the inner sanctum and that's why he's got the #%^*'s

I know it is the wrong forum but no one has mentioned Maric's game. Much better than last week and one that should be stuck with to see if he can keep up with the tough bodies. Liked his running goal. I liked Bennell's ability to get round the opposition and ability to speed up at the appropriate time. I'm excited!!!!!!!

Don't forget the provision in the Etihad Stadium contracts is there will not be a new stadium so any games moved have to be played at an existing stadium. I like the idea of a regional stadium. How far is Wangaratta!

I can remember when MFC put on trains to Geelong with whoever was running the train system then, and it was a great day. Not so good coming home. The one problem going to Geelong for Geelong games was seating. If that could be fixed well Geelong would be a good option. It all depends on the return for the club. That is the main priority. As far as the MCG goes there have been games where the MCG has closed off certain areas of the ground so there is a precedent for this to happen. Though would Demetriou be happy for more games at the MCG?

The other day in an interview Demetriou said that Western Oval is another proposition to play games because of the development out there. I would rather go there than Princess Park. Again parking is an issue but it would ensure CARLTANK did not get a cent. You can never tell with Demetriou whether he is rally serious or putting it up Collins.

Great PR by the club. Like the legal eagle dinner its good to hear information from the horse's mouth so to speak. MCC has a lot to answer for. -
I believe GC have already stated that they are interested in Ricky !!!!!!!

Slim pickings at this years draft

Just watched both clips for the first time. Both had obvious football smarts. Scully had a touch of Judd/Ablett/Cousins about him. How tall is Butcher. Oh God wouldn't it be wonderful........................ -

I am loath to bring this up but no one has mentioned Cameron Bruce. He looked slow and as one commentator put it looked like the game had passed him by. Do we give someone younger a run or is what he does in marshalling the troops make up for his obvious declining speed (not that I think he was ever a speedster) I am against Junior being dropped because from where I sit he is still putting his body on the line which inspires the younger boys. I am also considering whether Nathan Jones has to be dropped because again week after week his inability to have that peripheral vision whereby he is caught time an time again and turning the ball over. Still not sure about Newton. Last year was the same he would do well in VFL but failed in AFL where the pressure is heightened. Liked Valenti on Saturday but his size worries me. Give Maric another go. Wonna and Bell - no. Whelan yes depending on other ins. Johnson kicked a nice goal and at least wasn't as bad as last week - stay in until Spencer comes back. Give Meesen another chance. This week he was prepared to take the long kick so he is gaining in confidence. Any thoughts!!!!!

Tks for that.It always interesting to hear comments actually made by officials and not manufactured somewhere else! How did Cameron Bruce present himself and does Brock McLean give you the impressino of a man wanting the leadership?

Reading this what does anyone think the chances of Hughes being promoted in the not too distant future. Maybe for Jetta. I have not seen him play so I don't know if he is physically ready yet for AFL. Like the fact that he kicked an impossible goal. I haven't seen too much of that lately.

What dribble

OK we're not going to win but is'nt that what we expected in this year of development. If we double up on SON OF GOD then one of his friends will just smash us. I would like to see Bailey again use one on one football and hopefully Geelong play along with us and our young boys can learn by watching the current masters play. To be beaten is not a bad thing at the moment. It is what they learn by how they were beaten is more important in the long term. Even Stan Alves said yesterday that Melbourne members should forget the first half and look at what they achieved in the second half by playing one on one. He believed that the signs were there for the Club and that persistence is required for the rest of the year. That goes for the supporters as well. I too am looking forward to next week. I know we will be beaten but I go now to watch the improvement of the young boys because it is those boys who will carry us into a premiership in the near future. Hard decisions have to be made about those players who don't have the ability to improve and give others a chance to be exposed that do have the skills ie Geelong, Hawthorn.

They were even talking about Newton's attitude on SEN today - lack of passion, lack of commitment - they can see it, we can see it why can't bails. DROP HIM -
