  1. err not for these stats , no. Our best simply stacks up well against everyone else and we are battle hardened. Other teams won't want to play Melbourne in the finals.
  2. Between the flag years?? Wouldn't have thought there was that much to write about between the 2021 and 2022 flags....
  3. https://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/1165273/walk-talk-a-minute-with-jacob?videoId=1165273&modal=true&type=video&publishFrom=1656916248001
  4. Good summary. Didn't see the 1st half but was v impressed with Rosman in the 2nd half. Rooey looks a ripper And Ladhams should be suspended for his hit on Woewodin. Woey was over the boundary line, had disposed of the ball and the hit was high with impact. Dirtbag
  5. Anyone know in the MCC level 4 whether the AA seats are nearest to the ground or the A row nearest the ground?
  6. Was chatting to someone yesterday who was telling me the MCC are unhappy with the 'double dippers'. People who get a reserved seat and then take up walk up seats. Don't shoot the messenger just passing on what I heard. Seems to me this is a problem of the MCCs own making (all tix should be reserved for finals if you ask me,) Suggested they would open the gates earlier for those that haven't already secured a seat. Logistically this would be a nightmare but I guess its possible. If you have already secured a seat through Ticketek then your bar code wouldn't give you access to the ground until an hour after those that had not secured seats. Will be interested in seeing whether this eventuates,
  7. Just re watched the game v Sydney. Took some notes Very close. Sydney gifted 2 goals in the last 5 mins TMac out at the last minute, Buddy not playing, Salem 1st game back was rusty, Langdon 1st game back playing with a broken rib. Tommo was very poor, Petty was off and on all night with an injury. Reid, LMacDonald and the McCartins beat us in the air. Sydney pressure and tackling was first class. We were 5goals up to 5 pts with 3m to go in the 1st qtr and lost. Overall we are a much better unit now and I am confident we will beat them 1st Qtr Dees 2 quick goals. 8. Disgrace that Hawkins is Captain. Has never captained at any level. Borderline cheat with his 'flailing' arms and elbows
  9. Snow gags? OMG they are hilarious. Maybe we should oblige with some Mardi Gras gags or rain jokes Sydney's Observatory Hill weather station registered 1547.4 mm of rain during the first six months of 2022, marking the wettest January to June period in 164 years of records. Melbourne rainfall to Jun 1 - 151 m
  10. They all made the Grand Final though.....
  11. This is a key to our defence. Gawn, Jackson or TMac blocking the outlets from Opp defence is vital. The mids block the corridor. TMac also does a lot of pack busting that we missed dearly when he first went out
  12. He quite likes that
  13. Feel free to detail these instances. I don't see it
  14. Scully took the money and is a forgotten footballer that did nothing and has no allegiances. Neither GWS Melbourne or hawthorn will remember him fondly Have a great life Tom
  15. I have seen this written a few times now and curious as to how you arrive at this conclusion? 2012 played 20 games 2013 player 17 games 2014 played 21 games 2015 played 22 games 2016 played 22 games 2017 played 22 games 2018 played 20 games (starting at rd 6 - next games he had 2, 2, 5, 4, 2, 4, 6 goals) 2019 played 15 games (didn't play after rd 16) 2020 played 9 games (covid year - he had a poor year along with the club) 2021 played 23 games I think its complete BS frankly. He has had one poor year and now it is set in stone that TMac takes a long time to get back up to speed. "a stumbling block to his career" you say. "Diabolically once he reaches a patch of his best form he gets injured again" 2018 he didn't start till rd 6 and played well out of the blocks Tom will be fine.
  16. He is on record as saying he hated playing at St Kilda and would have left to play somewhere for fun. The fact he is at the Dees (as insurance largely) - and opportunities haven't been plentiful for him - is possibly annoying for him but I reckon he is at peace with his decision.. And he still has some flaws in his game despite getting Brownlow votes...
  17. That subconscious works both ways, Any team that gets ahead of the Pies wont take their foot off the gas
  18. Shame for him the team he left is playing finals....

    GWS Crowds

General. The AFL had to compete with the NRL in their home markets and even though crowd numbers are low in the NRL, viewing numbers are huge.
  20. jnrmac

    GWS Crowds

60% of all advertising revenue comes from NSW and Southern Queensland Thats why we have GWS and Gold Coast. Tassie generates around 6% In case you think this is about emotion and history
  21. Same here
  22. This a problem when you have: 1. a 23 round fixture,; and 2. All the Dreamtime games, the Derbies, the Heritage rounds, ANZAC Days etc Would like to see an analysis of past years and those with easy draws falling in the finals...if anyone can be bothered.....
  23. Good article Its a blight on the game Remarkable how many times commentators refer to the ladder saying things like Geelong are the stand out without doing the most rudimentary analysis of the fixture. A bit like Brisbane and their home ground advantage
