This in the Herald Sun today: Last year, the Demons pulverised a flu-ridden Geelong in the preliminary final, Can you believe how much this cr*p gets repeated so that it is now fact. Believe that all you want Chris Scott

it has been a bug bear of mine for a long time where the umpires stand. In rugby they have one on each post. Why cant the boundary umpire or one of the field umpires be used?? The worst is when the ump stands with his back leaning against the post and the ball hits him as it bounces along the ground. They are idiots Drives me spare.

Gawn had his goal disallowed on the Grand Final last year and was adamant it was a goal. Fan footage from behind the goal appears to confirm that analysis. Yet the Ump called it a point and it wasn't even reviewed. Nor did the AFL discuss how to stop it happening in future. It was a vital time in the game but in the end didn't matter. Nonetheless the AFL have now had two clear stuff ups. FFS it cant be that hard. Lidar on top of the goal posts or hawk eye. Its not expensive tech.

He played well against us and got off the chain with no May and Petty on/off all game.

Is that Nibbler?
-
Please no. Geelong trotted that out once and it has cursed them ever since

Stats file: Franklin has only kicked 12 goals against the Dees since 2014 when he started at Sydney
-
I looked this up before and was surprised at his running ability. Its not that obvious.
-
The problem is that it disadvantages the 2 teams that go straight through to the Prelim. Last year we only played 1 game in 27 days before the GF.
-
That is simply not true. I have posted stats on this before, You are perpetuating an urban myth.

We need Hibbo for Papley.

I re-watched the rd 12 game. They were gifted 2 goals from frees in the last 3m and won by 11pts. They played out of their skins, We were terrible. Langdon was 1st game back with a busted rib, Salem 1st game back, no Steven May, Petty went off in 1st qtr with a leg problem - on and off all game, Fritsch was playing his 'selfish' football and cost us goals. We bombed the ball into our fwd line and McCartin x 2 creamed us. Logan McDonald had a day out and Papley was one on one with Hunt a number of times in the last line. It won't happen like that again. We are favourites for a reason.

I think you are making stuff up. Salem is better than Bowey in most categories. He might well have been a Norm Smith Medallist he was that good. As for running further... Top-five most distance covered per game in 2021 Ed Langdon, 15.30km Christian Salem, 14.20km Alex Neal-Bullen, 13.88km Clayton Oliver, 13.61km Jake Bowey, 13.33km Top-five most distance covered in a game in 2020 Ed Langdon, 13.3km v Sydney, round 15 Christian Salem, 13.3km v Gold Coast, round 6 Ed Langdon, 13.1km v GWS Giants, round 17 Christian Salem, 13km v Collingwood, round 12 Christian Salem, 13km v GWS Giants, round 17 Oh and did I mention speed? Top five fastest Melbourne players in 2021 Jayden Hunt 35.24km/h Kysaiah Pickett 34.56 Alex Neal-Bullen 33.95 Ed Langdon 33.91 Christian Salem 33.80

We don't have any pigeons around here. The flag is in pristine condition (and really annoys my Bulldog supporting neighbour!)
-
My flag hasn't yet come down We are still the reigning premiers!
-
And of course we all know that the Dogs get away with 100 throws a game as well....

They have definitely changed but they haven't really been tested. When they played us they went with a plan that worked, They really attacked our kick ins to the usual left spot for example. One of their talls would take a huge run up and smash the ball forward - passed our crumbers waiting for the spillage - to a couple of geelong players that would generate a repeat entry. They moved the ball a lot quicker than in previous games and switched the ball repeatedly. We were slow to close them down and they owned the corridor. I think they have played their hand too early and shown their cards. We won't let that happen again. And the pressure on them is out of this world. They have already engraved the cup if you listen to the good folk of geelong. If they lose the first game - and the Pies have a good record against them - they will [censored] the bed and go out in straight sets. Thats what I am predicting anyway!

I think you'll find it was Woewodin..dog of an act. And for once a sensible suspension. No one can complain about that.
-
He denied saying anything initially then changed his story twice.
-
The way that Zorko has tried to deflect from his gutter mouth by saying he was provoked was disgusting. The AFL should have acted on him and Brisbane should remove the Captaincy.
-
Geelong are under serious pressure to win the flag. Last flag in 2011. Missed finals once since since then Playing the last half of the season with easy games at Taxpayer Park will come back to haunt them Out in straight sets.

People underestimate how much running BBB does. His knee is clearly giving him problems but he used to run 10-12 kms a game Here is a piece from the AFLs website during 2020 (when at Nth Melb) Top-five most distance covered in a game in 2020 Will Walker, 13.7km v Geelong, round 10 Ben Brown, 13.3km v Essendon, round 6 Trent Dumont, 13.2km v Essendon, round 6 Ben Brown, 13.1km v GWS Giants, round 2 Ben Brown, 13.1km v Hawthorn, round 4
